Spot on Thai food!! I tried the yellow curry with noodles and was very pleased. The flavors were vibrant and the sauce was thick and tasty. A little oily but I didn't mind. It was my first night in Orlando and I decided to order from Coco Thai. I ordered the Basil Entree for myself and Pad Thai for my friend. When I drove to pick it up, the order was ready and the service was friendly. The food was delicious! The only problem I had was that I didn't order more! Looking at the menu again and there are so many options I would have loved to try so next time I am in Orlando, I will for sure return. And the place is quite beautiful and cozy. Not really impressed and Definitely Overpriced. We ordered the Thai wings and and the Pad Thai. The Thai wings were good, but I wished they had more flavor and at $9.95 for 5 chicken wings, not worth it. The Pad Thai wasn't Pad Thai. The noodles were very thin and stringy. The sauce was very sweet, not spicy and had no hint of a peanut sauce. We had to add spice and then it was a tasty dish but still it wasn't Pad Thai by a long shot. Visiting from Phoenix and a huge fan of great Thai food, and Coco Thai did not disappoint. My server was so friendly and recommended the Pad See Mow with shrimp and oh goodness. The balance of flavors, the sauce which was both a bit spicy (not too much) and savory, the fresh veggies and perfectly cooked shrimp were on point. The skin was very tender and the roll was filled to the brim with ingredients. I had the Yellow Snapper with tamarind sauce. It was some of the best fish I've had in a long time. It was fried to perfection. Next I had the steamed dumplings and they were handmade and delicious very tender and supple. The dipping sauce was amazing as well. You're just my thai-pe! One of the better Thai places up here in Orlando. I'm not from the area so whenever I get the chance I like to try new restaurants and this one definitely was a hit. As an appetizer we got the fried wonton, which with the sweet and sour sauce is good in every language. The pad Thai was legit. Not the best but definitely above average. The pad see eu reminded me of chow fun. The noodles soft and flavorful. Finally, the basil duck was my FAVORITE. Something about it makes it sooooo good with white rice. I've had duck basil other places and too much fat or too little meat or just not appetizing but this is a stellar piece. Will be back if I'm ever in the area. Service is wonderful! Four stars feels really fair for this place. Waitress was really good about accommodating my allergies, but the kitchen was less responsive to my husband's request to make his food Thai hot. Luckily they have some hot sauces they'll bring out if you ask. It was fairly quiet on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. It's a nice little spot with good food. Food flavor and authenticity were on the mark. The waiter who served us was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is open and more like a cafeteria and some of the chairs are rather small but the food is so good it's easy to overlook the less the comfortable seating. Horrible horrible service. Food order wasn't taken or delivered properly. Kept having to ask for my app after the entrees came. No one ever cleared the clutter of empty dishes. Never received water refill. And to top it off the manager Liz is on some sort of power trip. Our bill was about $900 and was charged the highest grat amount. When I mentioned the service did not deserve the highest grat amounts of $180 she said " you took up a table so Thts y we have to charge you, that the policy" some one needs to either re train her or think about a change. Came here for its location. It's right across the street from my hotel which was convenient at the max so that I could head to universal right after eating. I ordered the pad Thai with tofu. When we got our food, the first thing I noticed was the small portion given to me. If you compare the official yelp photo for pad Thai (they have shrimp on it) vs mine, you can see the huge difference as well. I didn't have too much of an appetite before arrival but I was still able to finish my food. In addition, the tofu was pretty hard, even if they used firm tofu. I ended up not eating the tofu. The noodles were pretty stuck together but the sauce was standard. Overall, considering there was really no one in the restaurant and they still had this low quality food served, I can't imagine how food would be if they were actually busy. My guess. The waitress came over within less than a minute, took our drink, order and appetizer, and return back with the drinks within two minutes. The pad Thai was the best I have ever tasted at any Thai restaurants that I have tried in Orlando, it was perfect consistency and it was very unique. It had all the authentic toppings, such as been sprouts vegetables, and not too soggy and perfect consistency of sweet and sour. The beef was grilled to perfection. Finally finally finally some decent Thai food in Orlando! We're always hoping for decent Asian food and have found a few places but Thai food, being my favorite of all Asian cuisines, was always a miss until this place. We ordered the Nam Tok (grilled steak salad -was stoked to find out they have this as this is one of my staple dishes), Tom Kha Gai (coconut chicken soup) their specialty Planen makham (deep fried whole fish with a side of tamarind sauce) and Khao soy (curry noodles) All items flavored intensely and just right! Our server (Kacey) was just fabulous! With patiently explaining things to us, accommodating our group's order and just being so nice. As an avid Thai food eater, I have very high standards for Thai food - and this definitely met those standards. The red curry was divine! The Tom Kha soup is one of the best I've ever had. Ate lunch/early dinner here at 330PM on a Friday. We had the place largely to ourselves but I'm sure it must hop during normal eating hours. Clean and neat inside with solid decor. Waitress was very attentive - water and ice tea glasses never went empty. I had a couple basil rolls to start. They were SUPER tasty. Probably one of the top rolls I've had in a long time. I went for the Pad Thai next, which I kind of regretted - NOT because it was bad! It was very good, but I know Pad Thai well. I've had it all over the world, including Thailand. I feel like I should have explored the menu a bit more. Still, it was very good. The Basil Rolls though - oh my gosh.
