Eversince Bambu has closed its doors in SSF, I've been on the lookout for a dessert place similar to it, and I've found it in Coco3. Well they are not totally similar except for the fruits and various toppings (and I mean a lot) to choose from. What makes them different is that they serve mostly coconut and fruit based desserts but they also have the usual boba, milk and fruit teas. You can create your own dessert by choosing a base - avocado, coconut juice or coconut milk and then selecting 3 or 6 toppings. The Coco Crave, one of the best sellers, is my favorite. The Go Go Taro, their new limited time drink which I tried during my last visit was awesome! They use real mashed taro and topped with coconut milk and sago. Yum! Previously they were part of the Bambu franchise til their location on Gellert closed down. It wasn't fantastic then and it still isn't now. Most recent staff interaction was tedious, she didn't know how to use their POS to bypass the pin on a debit card to enable it as a credit transaction instead. She had to call someone from the back. And HE didn't know how either. So the owner came out to show them. I'm not upset that she wasn't aware, I was just annoyed by the lack of communication. We literally stood there while she tried to troubleshoot with two other people rather than giving a simple heads up. Pretty expensive drinks for average taste and standard boba shop ingredients. Typically two drinks after tax is nearly $13. I'd rather go to Yi Fang or even 85° for a yummy drink but we come once in a while bc of the convenient location. Centrally located in the plaza across from Costco on the corner of Hickey and El Camino. There's a UPS Store, Jack in the Box, and Grocery Outlet (+Chevys) here so it's usually when we come by to get the kids drinks. Could be better... Could be worse. read more

I've been here twice and it's been super tasty both times! Today's order, on a pre-storm Fri afternoon around 3p (couple orders in front of me, but not too crowded otherwise): + Aloha Dream with boba: passionfruit flavor definitely coming through! It also has pineapple and guava, similar to a POG but with pineapple instead of orange. Fruity and creamy. Got it at 75% sweet which was perfect. Boba (and other jelly add ons) is free to add in + Stop & Go dessert: this is from the dessert menu, basically Vietnamese chè. Generous amount of toppings (this one has canned jackfruit, jade jelly [nice and sproingy, like gummy worm sized boba texture], red ruby (think of a red boba but with a crunchy water chestnut center. Textural delight) and sweet creamy coconut milk over a scoop of crushed ice. I got this at 75% sweet and it was just right. In the past this place was very much on the sweet side, but I think they've actually toned it down a bit (maybe just my imagination?). Overall it's a pricier boba/dessert place but that's why adding toppings to drinks are free (built in cost vs nickel and diming for incremental add-ins). I don't mind because it's consistently tasty and generous with toppings. Staff are always nice. Refrigerated case by the register for individually packaged macarons and slices of cakes. Coco3 is my new favorite boba/dessert place in the area! I've been here multiple times and tried their coconut juice dessert drinks as well as their specialty drinks. I love how many topping options they have. Like others have mentioned, it reminds me of Bambu but with coconut bases only. Their coconut juice is super addicting! You can create your own or choose from the menu. The Coco Crave is my favorite, but honestly you can't go wrong with any of them. I've also really enjoyed their lychee breeze and coco mango blended specialty drinks. The lychee breeze has a hint of coconut that makes it super creamy, sweet, and delicious. I didn't notice that toppings that don't have an extra cost next to it on the menu can be included in your drink free of charge. My boyfriend also tried the DyLicious drink which consists of dragonfruit, lychee, and lavender. Unfortunately the lavender was way too overpowering and we couldn't taste any of the dragonfruit or lychee. Would pass on this one unless you like the taste of lavender. Docking off one star because the drinks are on the pricier end for a regular size. Their drinks are $6-7 on average or more if you add extra toppings. However (and I wasn't surprised because this happens to me all the time), they were out of the ingredients for that drink, so I just went with the Classic Avocado Blend, which I asked for the addition of basil seeds. You know, guys, sometimes when I order, I can be a terrible customer, asking a bunch of questions and changing my mind about what I want. However, if my order is done exactly as I asked, and yet the employee was polite and even enthusiastic, I am the most grateful and appreciative person. And that's exactly what happened at this place. My drink was super good. I could feel the freshness of the ingredients and the right amount of everything in it. And! I didn't feel any extra sweetness, which is always one of the main points when I order (no sugar, please!). The taste of the food/drinks, the work of the staff, the cleanliness and comfort of the establishment are basic things to make a customer want to come back. Came by here on a whim after stopping by Grocery Outlet. I believe they have the same ownership as Bambu; we confirmed with the employee at the register. So if you're familiar with Bambu's drinks, it's much of the same here, except smaller and more expensive! As per our usual Bambu order, we got the plain "Avocado Smash" type drink without toppings. The drink was noticeablely smaller and pricier than Bambu's, but it had a cute cup and delivered the same taste. Was craving something sweet after a heavy lunch and what better thing to satisfy that than a fruit tea? My friend and I found Coco3 on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Wow! I am most definitely coming back! Never would I have thought I would become a coconut person, but this place makes coconut fun! Coco3 is located in a pretty busy plaza, took me some time to find parking since there's a supermarket next door. There are so many drink options that we took awhile to decide on what to get. I actually went with something safe and got the Lychee Breeze, thinking it would just be lychee. But there was some coconut blended in as well and it was sooo good! I also added some lychee jelly which is a staple if you get any lychee freeze!! My SO tried the Aloha Dream and he loved it as well! You can add 3 toppings of your choice for no extra charge as long as there is no extra charge for it (see menu)! I will definitely be back to try all of their other flavors! This place is located in the mall near Costco. It actually reminds me of Bambu a lot. So it's the type of store that you can add things like durian, or red bean, grass jelly or other jellies to this drink. They have a lot of coconut drinks and they are popular for their avocado drinks. You can also create your own drink, or get a fruity drink, classic tea, and coffee drinks. So it was had to decide what I wanted. I ended up getting the avocado blend. I loved the drink as it was pretty close to the avocado smoothie I get at Kevin's Pho house. I think they have a lot of coconut in this drink, which is fine, and it made it pretty smooth. The price was a little bit high for the size of the drink, but it's so good, that i'll still get this again. COVID-19 TAKEOUT On my way home to SF, I made the obligatory stop to fill my tank at the cheapest Chevron in the area on Hickey/El Camino. And, to air sniff the Western Bacon Cheeseburger from the attached Carl Jr's that I can't have. Mmmm, the smell of charbroiled beer and smoky bacon. It's so good that you can almost taste it...without the calories! Anyhow, while pumping gas, I saw Coco3 across the street in the Grocery Outlet plaza and thought it may be similar to Kokonut in Man Jose that specializes in coconut based drinks and desserts. Turns out it is. With the heatwave, a refreshing coconut drink for dinner sounded perfect! I ordered the Original CocoCreme, 25% sweet ($4.25). I thought this drink was just plain coconut but it turns out it comes with black tea by default (it's actually a tea crema drink). I wish the menu was clearer because I can't drink caffeine after a certain time. But that's on me, I should have clarified with the cashier. I took a sip to taste the coconut creme and it was extremely bitter which is weird because coconut is naturally sweet. I also tried the CocoAvocado, 25% sweet ($8.50) which was also extremely bitter. They're brand new and I'm understanding of opening kinks but a $8+ drink should be made with ripen avocados. I hate to waste anything but I had to toss both drinks and go elsewhere for a meal. Maybe going 100% sweet or extra sweet is the way to go here? Service could be friendlier. With no line, my order took 10+ minutes. Props for opening a new business during the pandemic. I'll give Coco3 another shot in several months to try their other coconut drinks (@ 100% sweet) in hopes of a better experience so I can give them a higher rating. I am not a fan of coconuts, so when I first stopped by, I did not think I would like them since I thought all their drinks would be coconut based, but I was wrong. I recommended this spot to coworkers and friends who love coconut and they told me that they loved it so much that they have to stop by here every time they come to this side of the Bay. Fortunately I was wrong, they have plenty of coconut desserts and drinks, along with non-coconut desserts and drinks as well. I have to say I was super excited when I saw jasmine milk tea on the menu because that is my go to drink, and I did not expect it on the menu at all. Of course I ordered the jasmine milk tea with boba, along with that I also had the chance to try the Matcha Cococreme and Tri Berry as well. The jasmine milk tea had a good ratio of milk and tea, it had a good creaminess to it. The matcha cococreme had a good and strong matcha taste to it, the cococreme is a good addition to it when mixed well. Drinks are a little expensive so come with your credit card ready. The drinks are delicious but I recommend ordering 75% sweet because sometimes the drinks could be OVERWHELMINGLY sweet if they are in default 100%. Service is a little slow if it's busy otherwise it's a normal 5 minute wait for your drink. Coco3 added some chairs and tables for people to sit and enjoy their drinks or snacks! The only complaint I have is the drink was quite pricey for a small-ish cup ($6.50 for small, $8 for large). This place gives me total Bambu feels from the setup to the drinks. I'm not sure if it's the same Coco that's popular in Asia (the sign tells me otherwise). Not super impressed with what I got (Avo coffee) because the coffee was too sparse at the bottom and maybe I'm a little bit biased because I was hoping I can add coffee jelly but they don't have it for toppings.
