The berry bingsu was just what we needed on a hot day in the South Bay. Refreshing and surprisingly delicious! The shave ice was soft and all the flavors were there. Order the mystery bag - they should be mixed with 4 different flavors but eventually didn't get the hotdog, so we had to order another bag that just had the hotdog. My fave one was the nutella. But they're served warm like little mini doughnuts... then the moment you bite in there is the filling, and a walnut. The walnut is vital, it provides texture and flavor. Also the fillings aren't too hot, but the walnut piece is semi cooked... so not crunch like a raw walnut... but the flavor is different. I got the 9ct random bag, comes with red bean, Nutella, and cream cheese. Also I got the iced plum tea... let me just say, it taste like pure plum juicy goodness. It's cold, tart total yum for the pallette. Parking is plentiful. Wait time for ordering was a bit due to the fact that the employee running the register would leave to help out with the order. I ordered the Nutella waffle (5/5): super good. The flavor was just oh so sweet. The strawberries and chocolate combo was a good choice along with the bananas. Google/apple pay is accepted here. My friend and I came around 7pm to sit down and work, with plenty of wall outlets and good table space for us to set up our laptops. I had caffeine earlier today so I'm glad they had other drink options, I ordered the cookies and cream cococcino and asked for no whip cream because I noticed other yelp reviewers ordered the same drink with whip cream. My friend ordered the matcha flavor and I was expecting to see whip cream but it was topped with a "yogurt like cream"? but i assumed its the same cream they use on top of their shaved ice. Even 40 minutes before closing this place is packed! My only critique is the cookies and cream did not stand out to me and I was hoping it would feature any ingredient that aligned with Cocohodo's brand, if that makes sense? Picking up food from counter and returning dirty dishes are completely self-served. Chairs are torn, tables not stable. Came here to study and ended up getting coffee and a small bag of walnut puffs. The price is a little steep at ~$9 for an assortment of 9 puffs, $7 if you get one flavor only. We tried the nutella, cream cheese, hot dog, and red bean flavors. All were pretty good, but the hot dog was the best in my opinion. The dough is kind of like in taiyaki but with walnuts added in it. Coffee was decent, on the creamier/milkier side though. We stayed here for a few hours to get work done. Seems like older folks like to congregate during the day to socialize and it can get pretty loud. After 5 pm it quiets down and it's mostly younger people off from work. This spot was close to our dinner location as we were craving some Asian desserts. I was happy they offered bingsu (Korean shaved ice) along with their walnut pastries. My friend and I never had cocohodo walnut pastries before! Interesting concept. We got the original shaved ice with comes with red bean, grain powder, rice cake, walnuts, and coco original sauce (made in house). This is perfect to share for up to 3 people. My friend and I couldn't finish all of it, but killed at least 80% of it. The shaved ice wasn't too sweet and loved the grain powder. We also tried combo cocohodo which came with 4 pieces of the walnut pastries and coffee. The walnut pastry was interesting - comes with a variety of flavors such as nutella. I personally thought the taste was OK, nothing stood out to me. I think I need to come back here not as full from dinner and eat it while still hungry. I do appreciate that it is not too sweet. Yesterday, I got the large gift box (84 count). Unfortunately, when I opened it at home, I found out that the two entire rows at the bottom were completely empty. Delicious walnut pastries. First introduced to these on a trip to Korea. Didn't really like them because they were filled with red bean. But because you could choose cream cheese or nutella as fillings here they are back on my menu. The walnut shaped pastries are like a sponge cake filled with half a walnut and your filling of choice: cream cheese, nutella, or red bean. When I went later in the day they were running out of the cream cheese filling. So visit earlier in the day if you want to make sure you can get your preferred flavors. They're usually made fresh to order so they come out nice and warm. Very tasty and a fun treat for sharing since they come individually wrapped in tissue paper. read more

Was super excited to check this place out because I love korean shaved ice. However, this spot was not it for us. We got the mango shaved ice. Usually, mango dessert dishes like this come with condensed milk but this one didn't. It just had mochi, mango, and mango ice cream on top. Mango Shaved Ice: The main issue I had with this dish was the shaved ice itself. It was extremely icey, almost like a snow cone. Asian Shaved ice is usually meant to be meltly + creamier. This one felt more like a burn on the roof of my mouth. We really couldn't finish it because it hurt so much. The mango was very frozen and you could tell it was not freshly cut. The mango ice cream on top just tastes like some basic one you can find at your local grocery store. The mochi was fine, was just chewy and gave the dish another texture. Pastry: We only tried a sample of the red bean walnut pastry because they ran out of nutella and cream cheese. It was wrapped nicely and tasted alright. 2 out of 3 of their flavors were not available so it was pretty disappointing. The selections for purchasing were kind of weird as well because the cheapest option forced you to only purchase one flavor of pastry and it was pretty pricey already. Originally I wanted to get the mystery mix package because it came with all the flavors but they didn't have them so I didn't get them. Got the triplet mystery bag (three of each flavors: nutella, cream cheese, and classic red bean) and shredded the bag on the spot. Honestly, they were alright... It's like eating warm soggy taiyaki balls but with a walnut in the center plus the filling. One of the nine "walnuts" turned out to be a dud (with no walnut nor filling in the center). Cute little cafe vibes on busy El Camino Real.. I usually only come here after I eat some fried chicken at Von's next door. When I do stop by, I always get a medium bag of Walnut Pastries. They run out of cream cheese when I go.. so I opt for the red bean. The iced sea salt latte here is also really tasty. I wish I lived closer so I could have cute study dates here. The decor is really sweet and simple here. They play light instrumental music here too. Great for doing homework! They also sell one-day old pastries for 20% off! This is one of the many things we get for get together and when visiting fambam's over. For the past 5+ yrs we have been coming here instead of going to the other cafes and we not just purchased them for ourselves but have purchased them as gifts and have brought to the workplace as our potluck share lol. Although most folks were hesitant in the beginning due to its unusual individual packaging I will never forget how everyone got so addicted after 15 mins of opening the box. Looking for dessert after our Tofu Soup and we found this unique place. Environment is very welcoming, with plenty of room to sit and socialize. Cocohodo is another favorite whenever I'm in the area after stopping by Hankook Market. I usually pick up their red bean walnut pastries and a latte when I make a visit. I've never been disappointed with the quality of the pastry and how it easily satisfies my craving for something sweet. Their coffee is also well made and easily customizable. I also tried their new strawberry mango mojito drink today and asked for it to be lightly sweetened. I was not disappointed and actually pleasantly surprised by how light and tasty it was. Sadly, I feel like I would rather go somewhere else for shaved ice:( The green tea shaved ice had too much chunky ice on the top and was kind of flavorless. There was not enough of the condensed milk/green tea sauce so the bottom half of the bowl was just melted icy green tea water. The other toppings were still yummy though, like the red beans and walnut, but I definitely wish there were more rice cakes/mochis as the ratio felt off.
