The seafood was delicious and fresh. I ordered a dozen of three different types of oysters and they were so refreshing. I really enjoyed the Maine oysters. I also ordered the crabmeat cocktail and scallops dijon pasta. Both were really delicious as well. The service was quick and very attentive. Went for the fish and chips. Disappointed because the fries were frozen fries, the batter was heavy and stodgy. Fish was dry possibly frozen. 3 out of 10 Use hand cut fries, lighten the batter and cook it in hotter oil. Sorry but being a chef and a limey we know our fish and chips. read more

STONE CRAB!!!!! Sorry, got carried away...but seriously if you want stone crab, show up for the special on Wed and Thurs. Do I love stone crab season? YES! Do I love fighting the claw for meat? NO! They have the cracking down to a science, didn't need to do any additional work. And the mustard sauce was so good, you could taste the horseradish (FYI if you prefer more mustardy, it may not be for you.) But I digress. We started with the shrimp cocktail and they were huge. Again, loved the cocktail sauce. Hubby had penne alla vodka with chicken (he hates most things from the sea) and it came with garlic toasty things that were so good we bought a loaf of the bread from the market...more on that soon. Our server was awesome! He was friendly and attentive and had great suggestions. We sat outside since it was a beautiful day and the hubby couldn't stomach the seafood scent from the market (refer to above comment regarding his displeasure of most things from the sea). After dinner I wandered in to check out the market. Cute gifts, fresh seafood, premade salads and a variety of items that made me want to throw an impromptu cocktail party. They sold the bread we had with dinner (without the garlic) and I picked up some Oreo cheesecake that was calling my name, and a few other items I can't wait to try. This review is for the market side. In my experience some of the employees appear to be flat out miserable. There was no sense of "thank you" for choosing us. Were the products I purchased fresh? Yes and that's certainly a priority but there was simply an unwelcoming vibe. This is a tough one to review. It has potential but there were lots of small things that made us not enjoy it as much as the other seafood places we go to. Let's start with ambiance... it was a nice day, so we wanted to sit outside. Unfortunately, the outside consisted of a few tables out front with a lovely view of the parking lot. We also had some very loud people sitting next to us which made it hard to hear our own conversation, that's not the restaurants fault though. Maybe the inside is better, but since we did not sit inside, I can't comment on that. Service was good and our server was attentive, everything came out fast... maybe too fast as we got our salads and appetizers at the same time. However, there was something about our server that I can't really pinpoint that just felt off, maybe they were rushed or something, but overall, it was pretty good. Drinks. Firstly, I don't believe they have any draft beer. At least they don't label them on the menu if they do. The one I had was bottled and was not very cold. My girlfriend had some wine which she also said could have been colder. We started with the fried calamari which was good. Not too greasy. Tasted fresh and was very tender. We ordered house salads as our sides and those came out moments after the calamari. The salad was fine, it was just some spring mix with a piece of tomatoe. My issue is that it was not very cold. I like a nice cold salad, and this was just slightly colder than room temp. I had a fried grouper sandwich and my girlfriend the lemon aioli grouper. Now this is a specific pet peeve of mine. If I order a sandwich, I don't want to have to eat it with a knife and fork. Unfortunately, all the breading came right off my fish when I took the first bite and turned the whole thing into a big soggy mess. The fish had good flavor and the bread was nice a toasty, but I did not get to enjoy it as intended. Maybe the piece of fish they chose was not right for a sandwich (it was quite thick) or maybe whatever mix the use for the breading was not applied properly or something, but it shouldn't immediately come off like that. On the other hand, my girlfriend's fish was much better. It had great flavor and overall she enjoyed it. It was also about $10 more expensive than my sandwich but was actually a smaller piece of fish, it was actually smaller and thinner and better suited for a sandwich. Overall, it was hit and miss. We might try again if we happen to be in the area, but we just found it to be ok for the price. read more

Morgan, our server was adorable, attentive and kind. The food was very good, tasty and plentiful. So why the two stars? Have you ever been to a restaurant where the abnormalities of the management get in the way of treating customers correctly? I wanted a pasta dish and asked them to take out the clams and mussels in favor of a few more shrimp. Simple substitution, right? Oh no. First the kitchen told my server no. They would take things out, but if you wanted anything subbed in, you had to go to the fish market, buy it and have them add it. I asked the manager, Joe to come over and I outlined what I'd been told and asked him to intervene. He seemed to delight in telling me that this was the rule. I replied that nowhere in the universe do restaurants treat their customers that badly. He answered, now, even more in his happy place - but that's our policy - and walked off with a smirk. I looked up to see he went right back to the window of the open kitchen, telling the cook what was said and laughing. He then looked over at me as of to say, I showed him. He saw I was watching him, gulped, dropped his head and walked away. He refused to come near our table after that. Pro tip Joe - if you want to make fun of your customers do it discretely or at least don't look directly at them after you get done. Otherwise, you end up like you did, having to hide from customers until they leave. To the owners, either train this guy Joe, or if he's just too immature to function, rehire and move on. read more

This place is horrible. The service more so than the food. The food is ok, very expensive for what you get. Not worth it at all, especially considering the horrible experience. If you want to be treated like absolute garbage and have the matre'd stand there and stare you down while talking about you to his employees this is your spot. We were lied to by our waitress about dessert being 1/3rd of the size if you order at the table then getting a slice of cheesecake at the market. Very fitting for how these people treat you. Whats not to love about this place? We've been coming since we've been in the area - which has been pretty much the duration of the pandemic... They do it all right. Curbside in the beginning, they upgraded the shop so that when they did open up the inside it was spectacularly clean and safe! Service is top notch and quality of seafood is amazing! We did have lunch one day - sat outside. Tables are spaced out nicely. They have heaters for the cooler weather but we went on a spectacular day! Again, cant beat the service or the food. Got all my Christmas Eve seafood here - they had everything we could have wanted. Some pre-prepared items, some stuff we did on our own. Again, fabulous. And most recently we got the pre-made meal menu items (keep an eye open for paella, its to DIE for!!!! but so is everything else!) I'm sad that we are moving away but alas they will ship!!! Came here with friends. The staff was really friendly, which made our dinning experience that much nicer. For four adults, we shared 2lbs ( like two claws per person) of stone crabs. Delish. If you like stone crabs, I would recommend 3/4 claws person. More like an appetizer, so with 3/4 , it may fill you up and so, you could do a light dinner. The grill shrimp salad was nicely done Calamari and conch fritter were very good. Mussels were good Seafood pomodora was ok. A little dry with marinara sauce on top. Years ago I worked with a County agent who inspected seafood establishments and he told me the only place he would personally purchase seafood was Cod & Capers. I have always kept his words in mind when I'm seafood shopping. Unlike other retailers who may be less expensive, Cod & Capers' seafood is always the freshest. The seafood in the restaurant and market are not inexpensive but it is beautiful. My husband and I fish and we know fresh seafood. Their offerings will make you drool - several varieties of oysters, stone crab, shrimp and so much more. While we have shopped in the market this was our first time at the restaurant. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside as the weather was beautiful. We ordered several appetizers for our lunch - boiled shrimp, conch fritters, mussels in wine garlic sauce, cracked conch and calamari. All were delicious and cooked perfectly. My husband & I buy fresh fish at their market 3 or 4 times a week and occasionally have dinner in the front of the market at the restaurant. Service is examplatory and friendly, the restaurant is extremely clean and operates as a well oiled machine on firing on all cylinders. One our favorites apitizers is the fresh cut & floured calamari thats lightly fried & is the best anywhere including all local fine dinning establishments. The fish could not be any fresher or finer served as we are told most comes directly from local fishermen. Ordered the 2 lb special of large stone crab last visit and was completely satisfying along with the house mustard sauce. Twin florida lobster tails was ordered by my friend stuffed with crab meat, YUMMY & Fresh as can be. My wife loves the fresh pompano which is always on the mark and served with two sides. Amazing place! They recently remodeled and the seafood is fresh! I got two stone crab to start, so fresh and delicious, comes with a home made mustard, I believe it was 12 or 14 dollars each. I had the lobster roll with a side of seaweed salad and tater tots!!! Everything was fresh and absolutely amazing!! They have flavor unsweetened tea too. Our waitress was fabulous. I'm not a seafood person so I wrote my last review for my husbands comment his sandwich wasn't good,my chicken was.. cheesecake was very good ...we ate outside as we always do during covid..we decided to go back,bringing same dog we had brought before,only in a stroller as we were car shopping on a very hot day. We were greeted by a bit of rudeness from a server,no dogs,who got the older man owner,no dogs..so we left. I wrote a review I'm taking down due to the younger sweet owner getting with me saying they do like dogs but it's something to do with local law which I've never been told,but I believe her..so if you have a dog,leave it home..mine comes everywhere with me,I'd rather eat somewhere else than not have him with me,but just know it's some local law all paws have to be on the ground etc for service dog read more

My family has been shopping here/ dining here for many years and I can confidently say I've never had a bad meal here. Efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable service and simple, fresh food. This is not a fancy restaurant (which is why we love it), but as a main supplier for many top restaurants and clubs in the area, you truly will not find better seafood. I love the market plate if I want some blackened snapper, but I also like getting crab cakes, crab legs, and seared scallops. You can't beat their stone crab special (Wednesday and Thursday nights) - you'll see stone crab on the menu at other places for double or even triple (!!!!) the price. Pay close attention to is the hours - on Monday and Tuesday the market is open until 6, but dining in closes at 5pm. They will still seat you at 5, but if we want to eat there on a Monday or Tuesday we typically arrive a little before 5 and try to order quickly. read more

We go to Cod & Capers about 2-3 times a week while in North Palm Beach. Most often for the takeout dishes. Two nights ago we ate in the cafe. Our server recommended I try the grilled rosemary shrimp served over homemade polenta. Superb! As good as the shrimp were, the polenta took center stage. The manager makes the polenta and the fellow really knows what he is doing. Cod & Capers is in a shopping center off US 1 and not "on the water." So for some folks that's a negative.
