I needed a headache relieving coffee before leaving Silverton, and Coffee Bear was on the side of the street I was already walking - so that was an easy decision. Went with a latte and a lemon square, both of which were quite good. I had the smaller size latte, and it came out quite strong, which really hit the spot, not just overly milky with a little mark of espresso in it. And the lemon square was very good to my taste, quite sour with lemon zest in the frosting. A+. Based on this experience, I would make this a purposeful stop if I was heading near Silverton again. read more

Coffee - the cold brew is a big "NO, NO". My bf had latte and said it was good. We each had a breakfast burrito one veggie one sausage. They are ok. Microwaved and put into panini maker. We were there at rather slow time. Couldn't really find anything else around. Pretty mellow place but not impressed. read more

I had the veggie breakfast burrito and it was delicious. All of the veggies were fresh, including perfectly sautéed spinach, crisp bell peppers and fresh potatoes. If you like spice you can add green chili. I'm writing the review because veggie burritos are typically an afterthought with sad bell peppers and too many potatoes so props to this cafe for perfecting the veggie burrito! read more

My husband and I honeymooned in Ouray, but stopped by Silverton (home of the Hardrock 100!) after a hike. The square burrito is as amazing as it sounds. We shared one and it was pretty much the equivalent of having a normal size burrito each. Good coffee, too! read more

Popped in here on a chilly day. The chai tea was a bit different in flavor profile than what I am used to-but it was really good! Cute spot. 3 levels. Clean bathrooms. Will stop again next time I'm in the area. Also, great customer service! read more

Hi Yelpers. This is a coffee shop which has good coffee. A great vanilla chai and decent breakfast "burritos". I quote that because they are out on a panini press so are a bit weird. They are really just pressed wraps. The flavor was to be expected, nothing more nothing less. Prices average for a mountain town. Barista was fast! Very pleasant folks. Because The Coffee Bear Cafe is the only place open before 7am in Silverton, we went here both mornings we were staying there. However, I think we might've gone here both mornings even if there were other options in town. The coffee options are great and they have a small selection of breakfast burritos and pastries. We all fell in love with their homemade granola bars that are gluten free and full of both yummy and healthy ingredients. Being the only place open early, this place is hopping in the morning with people reading the morning paper, playing the guitar (that is hung on the wall), and chatty up the locals. It was a nice start to our days. read more

This place was great! We grabbed coffee here almost every day we were in Silverton. Coffee was strong! Kids got shakes/smoothies and they tasted great also. Last day we got breakfast - the burrito was square and gigantic! Breakfast croissant was good too, but the burrito was the winner easily. Great find in the middle of the San Juans. read more

I think this is the best coffee I have ever had in my life!!!!! Being the first time there we asked the lady at the register what she recommended. She said the caramel macchiato was the best thing on the menu. It certainly didn't disappoint. We even contemplated going back for seconds. The atmosphere was a typical small coffee shop with plenty of seating and friendly staff. The drink was delicious and even came topped with whipped cream and gold sprinkles. read more

Let me just start off by saying I love Silverton. It's a super cute town. Only problem is that it's a ghost town in the winter. So naturally I was super excited to find out that there was a coffee place open. The shop itself was super cute and the view by the window was great. Coffee and the mountains- can it get much better?! However, I was really disappointed with their mocha. It was obvious they had burned the beans because my coffee tasted like cigarettes. Not to mention the prices were high. I paid about $6 with tip for a small coffee that I couldn't even drink half of. So overall, super cute coffee shop with great views and atmosphere, but the prices were high and my drink experience was not great. read more

We had planned to stop in Silverton for a picnic, but Mother Nature had different plans. We ended up in some mix of rain and sleet, and when I went in to ask if they cared if we ate our picnic lunch, if we got some coffees, they were very welcoming!! Being from outside of Dallas, many places would have acted like we were crazy even considering eating our food in their place. Anyway, great customer service! You'd be silly not to go here if you are in Silverton, CO. The food is beyond worth it, I highly recommend stopping in for a burrito or the breakfast sandwich. I got the best hiking recommendations and enjoyed talking with everyone who worked there, they were all delightful. Can't wait to go back! read more

This is an excellent coffee shop!!!! First of all, for lovers of pure good quality coffee, this place is it! Both their shot on the dark and macchiato were superb. The coffee beans they use must be of great quality. Then we come to the breakfast burritos. Two words: try them!!! Had the sausage burrito and it was absolutely amazing. Probably the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Add to all this the perfect location right in the middle of historic central Silverton, in a historic building itself and the excellent friendly staff service, and I would come to this place every single day if I lived here! read more

service was horrible. food a three star. one of the few options for bkfst after 11am. I waited for my order and finally inquired of its status. told them I'd not received my muffin or breakfast burrito.. the employee with hair tied back into knot turned toward muffins and muttered "yes you did" and then told me she'd put a muffin out on the pickup counter. I certainly got the impression she thought I pulled a scam. then, despite the order being for eating here, she put the muffin in a bag rather than the plate others got. the final irritant was that two of the three employees yelled loudly in calling out orders to be picked up. rather unsettling. read more

The coffee was good, food was mediocre but the service from the older lady at the counter was nonessential. She was very hard to deal with, arguing with customers and just an all around bad attitude. There was an hour wait down the street and we were very hungry and wondered into the cafe. After ordering the cooks and barista got our food and coffee out quickly. While waiting there was a couple that was trying to order and the older lady was very rude to them as well, they told her "we could deal with the food but not the attitude" and walked out. While we drank our coffee we observed the way she was with not just the customers but the employees as well. I will not return to this establishment. Thanks to the staff in the back again for trying to make up for the lack of service at the front. read more
