Soooooo yummy! Highly recommend. Beignets are made fresh and the staff is so sweet. We tried the classic beignets, peach stuffed beignets, which tasted like peach cobbler and hot chocolate. Hands down, some of the best flavors. There was a line to get in, which I attribute to deliciousness and the restaurant gave off a nice down south, home vibe.

If you need a break on driving to NOLA stop here. This is a simple breakfast spot with huge flavor. My favorite is omelettes or red beans and rice. Service is just a cashier and a food runner. Other than that just sit there and look at the nostalgia. Believe me there is tons. When you are done there are small shops and even a place to see gators. Have a safe trip and take a break.

The Beignets are delicious. I also like the Cafe Au Lait. Would definitely go back.

I LOVE love love this place. It has GREAT food and great service, every single time. Coffee house, you order first , go find an open table and they bring out the food. It's in an old house with antiques everywhere and shops right next door in the same parking area. Every time I have family visit from out of state I bring them here, to enjoy some breakfast, try some beignets, shop a little, and even see some alligators! It's a great place for brunch/lunch and quality time with the family!

Coffee House is a nice brunch/early dinner place that also has an antique and souvenir shop in the same area. If you like comfort food and like to do a little bit of shopping with friends and family, then just go for it! Here's what I ordered: 1. Hamburger steak 2. Red Beans and sausage 3. Sweet potato pancake (favorite) 4. Stuffed beignets (favorite)

Best beignets and hot coco!!! Competes at a close contender with Cafe Du Monde!! The beignets are always soft, doughy and the right amount of airy. The hot coco is creamy and has a nice balance of richness. I also had the chocolate filled beignets before and those were also delicious!!! Would recommend going out of your way if you have to, to give the coffee house a try!

Best beignets. We are visiting from Texas and we're not disappointed. The Coffee House is located in a cute Cajun village of shops, where each shoppe is in its own house. There was a line to order at the Coffee House, but where there is a line, there is good food. We also had the omelette with shrimp etouffee - which was also delicious. The coffee at lai was also good. It's worth the stop. Take your time and enjoy a treat.

The Coffee House is located at The Cajun Village on Louisiana Highway 22, just a short distance southwest of its junction with Interstate Highway 10. The Coffee House, like all of the rest of The Cajun Village is located in historic repurposed buildings. As it's name would suggest, the Coffee House has really good coffee. They specialize in café au lait, the New Orleans style coffee with scalded milk. Of course, if you want café au lait, you probably want beignets! They have you covered for these as well, both thin strips and soft pillows of luscious fried dough dusted in powdered sugar can be had for the asking. But they have a very special type of beignets that you will want to try, the Filled Beignets! These are what bring me back repeatedly. As the name would suggest, these beignets have filling. This includes chocolate, cream, fruit fillings, and more. These beignets come in orders of two, so you can mix or match fillings. You have got to try these! They also have hearty regular breakfasts for those wanting the classics of meat, eggs, and toast. Likewise, they also serve home style lunches. These include sandwiches, burgers, and plate lunch options. My favorite is the Hamburger Steak Plate. The ambiance of the facility itself needs to be take in. It is a historical building filled with antiques and artifacts. The restrooms are outside and in the back, as many historic buildings used to have. While there, one can wander and visit the other stores in The Cajun Village, all of which sell various types of Louisiana products, crafts, memorabilia, and souvenirs. Clearly, this is a good place for visitors to stop and shop, but residents might find some interesting items as well. Visitors might also want to go across Highway 22 and stop by the Ascension Parish Tourist Commission facility. Since all of these things are just off Interstate 10, this makes it a perfect place for travelers to stop in. Be sure to try those beignets while you are there!

The food is outstanding, service is excellent , friendly people in the Village Coffee House. There is alligators to be seen behind Black Market Provisions which is also an awesome place to visit, has some of the best smoked meat around. The Village is what living in the swamp is all about. Highly recommend this place enjoy every time I stop. I'm not from Louisiana.

One of my new favorite restaurants. The food was absolutely delicious. My husband had fried eggs, grits & bacon. The egg was fried to perfection. I had the red beans & rice with hot smoked sausage. DELICIOUS!! The coffee was amazing and we had regular coffee. I will definitely be back. My only complaint was the apple filling in the beignets was ice cold!! I couldn't eat it. I did take it back to the hotel and heat it up. Although it wasn't quite the same effect IT WAS GOOD. The atmosphere is nostalgic and makes you feel like you're at home. Small tables and a few for larger groups. The staff is very nice and full of southern hospitality. If you're in the area it's a must have. JUST STOP SERVING COLD FILLED BEIGNETS.

Hands down the best beignets I have ever had. The frozen cafe au lait was good. Everything was clean inside. Employees were friendly. Plenty of parking. This is right in the middle of "The Cajun Village", and there is a pottery shop nearby with a lot of cute ceramics, and two different gift shops. Perfect finds all around. Shop, then sit and have a bite to eat.

Surprising quaint stop Tucked off the highway. Kinda discovered by surprise. The place was clean and the food was good. Restrooms were located outside though and didn't have air. It was hot and stuffy. Inside was plenty cool. And had a rustic flair.

The restaurant was dirty. Food and trash on the floor. Hair on the table. Lots of souvenir/touristy items in the shop.

So, I gave it a chance. We made reservations and were seated almost immediately, which was a great start. The restaurant was a little cold inside, the strawberry lemonade was delicious and the food overall was very good. The oysters were actually really good! I was especially excited that they let me try one I had never seen on a menu before, the BBQ oysters jalapeño. It was fun stepping outside of my usual order, I was glad I did. It was a rainy day, so we ended up getting pretty soaked coming in and leaving but that certainly wasn't the restaurant's fault. What really stood out was the service. Our waiter was incredibly accommodating, attentive and friendly, the entire waitstaff made us feel welcome. The restaurant was also clean, bathroom as well which I always appreciate. Overall, I had a great experience. I'm glad I gave Mike Anderson's a try. Great food, great service and I'd definitely come back.
