Nestled in a little shopping center off of Tezel & Mainland is coffee me crazy- a coffee shop with one of the widest varieties of drinks and treats! I only needed an iced coffee this morning , but I will definitely be back to try more flavor combinations and food. I saw they have gluten free options as well as some sugar free flavors for drinks, so that's great for many health conscious people! They do seem to share a spot with a cbd shop so that was a bit confusing as far as where to stand to wait for your drink , how to tell if someone is in line or not, and where you're "allowed" to sit. I'm pretty sure the entire building is technically the coffee shop , but in case you don't see it at first .. there is additional seating in the back (to the right of the cafe area). Hands down the best local coffee in SA. Obviously, in my opinion, but if you're someone like me that really wants to support local coffee shops and get disappointed with lackluster, burnt tasting, or overly sweet coffees you tend to find at local shops this place is the answer. Everything is so good. The drink flavors don't taste artificial and everything is sweetened to complement the coffee not hide it. I've had the pumpkin and also the butter pecan, amazing. Ugh guys.... Man I hate coming on here and giving a negative review but this place did not do it for me. I'm basing this on one visit so I may need to go back but the latte I ordered did not really taste like anything. Honestly tasted like coffee and milk and I ordered the Flutter Nutter which is one of the most popular lattes ( according to the barista) . The chocolate pumpkin bread also disappointed because it felt dry- not fresh. Prices seemed okay for the size but definitely the flavor was not there for me. Free Wi-Fi and definitely a warm coffeehouse feel. They have a large menu, so definitely a lot to explore. They have lunch sandwiches that looked appealing. I'm always on the hunt for another good coffee place, and I love small local businesses and this place hit the mark. They had such a wide variety of both tea and coffee as well as pastries and some really cool themed sandwiches(the hen solo and when hammy met cheesy to name a few). It was very busy, but I got through the line very fast and my drinks came right out. I tried the Matcha Latte which was delicious with just the right amount of matcha powder and sweetness. I really want to love this place because it's so close to my house. The pesto turkey sandwich is absolutely delicious. But omg the coffee drinks suck! I've gone at least 10 times because my fiancés love their cold brew and I get an iced vanilla latte, which I feel like isn't that complicated of a drink. And every time it tastes and looks like straight up milk. Maybe I should try a different drink from there but idk I feel like an iced vanilla latte is a pretty universal drink that shouldn't be messed up. read more

I enjoy the coffee variety they offer. My favorite coffee from them so far is the Coconut Creme Latte. It is so delicious and gives me enough of that caffeine kick. I wish to try more of their menu. I've had their ham and cheese sandwich and their grilled cheese sandwich. The sandwich sizes are decent and flavorful. Sometimes they are out of things from their menu but other than that can't complain about anything else. read more

The Tanzania coffee intimidated me at first, I'll be honest. I had never heard of it before, but let me tell you, IT'S AMAZING! We got an Iced Latte with Vanilla - Smokey, creamy, perfectly sweetened and definite caffeine punch and all around one of the best coffees I've ever had. Iced Mocha with Hazelnut - Super chocolatey, thick, perfect perfectly sweetened, it has like a nutty, roasted coffee bean taste. Delicious. We didn't try the pastries this time, (cause we had a hankering for tacos) but we will next time, and there will be a next time. The people were so friendly and helpful, all together kind. They told us how they age and roast their beans in bourbon barrels! BOURBON BARRELS Y'ALL!!! They make mocktails with coffee that's aged and roasted and it tastes like BOURBON! They gave us a sample. Yes, I'm very excited about that lol, I'll try it next time after I've eaten lol. The coffee cake looks devine, only other one I've seen that comes close to my childhood neighbors mom's coffee cake that I drool for. Oh! And the spot is super cute! Cute little spot in San Antonio to stop by. I got a classic pour over and my gf got their latte. The pour over was good but nothing that really stood out and screamed great but overall good. My gf for a latte which she liked but said it was a tad bit too sweet with the syrups that were in it. The shop itself is small so keep that in mind during this pandemic to stay safe and keep those around you safe as well. I didn't wait to long for the order to be done but obviously pour overs do take a minute to come out but still came out pretty quick considering. The banana bread they had was really good though, that I can say stood out the most out of all the items we ordered. Recently, the PTA that I am on, needed to purchase over 100 gift cards for Teacher Appreciation week. I had gone to a bigger retailer to see if they could work with us but due to pandemic, they were unable to accommodate us. We had a short turn around (one week). This little shop roasts their own beans for their coffee. This is not a chain. And it shows. The people who work here have a love of what they are doing. The food is wonderful, the coffee is amazing. I had the turkey pesto on homemade focaccia. It had artichokes and spinach and red and green pesto. I chose the veggies with hummus for my side and the hummus was surprisingly homemade. They offer a variety of vegan and regular baked goods. Their lattes are not to be missed and even if you are dairy intolerant, they offer oat milk as an option. I drive out of my way to get my coffee here. They hang art from local artists which is also for sale and they have a little corner dedicated to jewelry which you can purchase for a donated amount and the proceeds go to help a women's shelter. read more

Rude staff but I can give them the benefit of the doubt. Coffee was good at least and it's a nice little spot close to my house.

I'm going to put it out there and say that Im a coffee "snob" and weight my reviews almost entirely on the quality of coffee so to be fair I'll state some pros about non coffee. Pros: The big one is the space. It is quaint and good for an afternoon read or meet up with a friend. If you aren't drinking coffee, it's a good setting and very comfortable. The also have smoothies so that could be an option. The second is that it's right down from El Buen Gusto. Probably one of the best hidden gems for barbacoa in the city. Cons: My goodness the coffee is bad. I had a feeling when they asked what size did I want my drink in and that was after giving me a blank stare in response to asking for a cortado. The milk was burned and heavily aerated into foam that oozed through the drink hole of the lid. The coffee flavor was regrettable to drink to say the least in addition to it being scorching hot. It sort of reminded me of a gas station push button latte but actually maybe worse. If the shop were geared towards coffee people like myself, I would highly recommend a coffee program overhaul but to be honest some shops don't have that as a target focus so I get it, especially if what they are doing pays the bills. So in conclusion, I don't recommend the coffee, maybe a smoothie, and a book for this place. read more

I've been 3 times, the customer service is not it, it's dry and they don't even know what's in their food, you can't ask any questions because they don't know. When I go they say it's mostly sold out or they didn't make it that day. I never see anyone else in there. Their pasteries are very dry and not worth the money I wanted to support a local business but the food isn't good quality. The coffee is either too strong or too weak. They have a lot of art on the walls but I wish it was a different kind not just acrylic pour there's tons of artist out there. read more
