I used to come here at least twice a week to watch sports and grab a burger. After I had a seizure at the bar, I came back a week later and was told by the new bartender and manager that I had been 86ed and was no longer welcome. Being banned because of a medical condition I was born with is extremely disappointing. Businesses that are open to the public generally cannot refuse service simply because someone has epilepsy or has had a seizure. I'd like an explanation for why I was treated this way. I would hate to hear more stories of others being treated like this. read more

This past Tuesday was my first time here. Went here for our wedding anniversary. I got 8 wings with a small macaroni on the side and spouse got Prime Dip with spicy horseradish / au jus ju sauce which came with a side of tots. 1. The AU JUS dipping sauce was just brown salt water. It was so salty it tasted like our waitress was pranking us or maybe the cooks were pranking her. Maybe they wanted to use us to yell at her for some reason. It wasn't a serious dish being served to humans. The waitress told us the soup is shipped in from an outside factory or kitchen but that didn't explain it. My spouse assured her it wasn't her fault and I chimed in that it had to be a mistake. We paid and she got a good tip. 2. The spicy horseradish is CREAMY Horseradish. This isn't stated or printed anywhere. I don't care but my spouse says there is a big difference so he didn't eat it. 3. The tots were heavily salted to the point where you had to shake them a bit so the excess would fall off and even then it was still salty but it was tolerable. The wings are salty but moist and tolerable. 4. The macaroni is completely bland so not tasty or good but we split this eating the whole side dish between the two of us. We did NOT finish any of the other food and drank plenty of water afterward and went straight to sleep (it's hot out there, we were wiped). For some reason, the next morning we both woke up with dry mouth/throat. I have never experienced anything like this before. I think this is just a sports bar and probably makes most of it's revenue from the beer. I don't really know but I don't drink. I signed up for the loyalty rewards points before starting the meal earning a free cheeseburger so I will be back but my spouse will never come back. read more

I love this place as a chain but this location was awesome. It was lazy Sunday at 11 am so not too busy. The service was great. Andy took good care of us. But what brings me back here is the quality of the food. The burgers and the mac and cheese are great but the other options on the menu are delicious as well. And I love a restaurant who knows how to cook onion rings. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Not chewy or stringy. I appreciate that the music wasn't too loud and overpowering. And if you are looking for a great sports bar, this place has a ton of TVs. Overall, the experience is always great here. read more

So I ordered the mushroom burger but I asked for blue cheese instead of Swiss. When I got my first burger it was overcooked and not seasoned. When you bit into the burger you could taste the char. In every bite. And I wanted my burger pink and it was cooked through. Brown all the way through. So naturally I informed our waitress and burger 2 was much better. Perfect really. It had seasoning and was cooked properly. Not burnt. They said blue cheese crumbles though and it's like a powder? So I'm not too sure about the crumbles part. Had to go up to cashier to get our bill so must be understaffed at peak times. Put the App on my phone while there and later deleted. Too many other options in area. Well stopped in for some Sunday football. It was pretty crowded, but sone open tables were available. The large beer was on sale for 6 bucks, but surprisingly they had no food specials and are also charging you $2.50 to get fries with your burger. This is the biggest joke in the industry. we have eaten there over 10 times the waitresses take forever to take the order then a long time to get the order. The food is cold and sloppy and not even warm. It's like a bother to be served if you are not having any alcohol. We always asked for more napkins with order ahead of time and never received them. To even get a refill of pop or lemonade is an act of congress. The servers just huddle in the West of the bar and have to walk up there to get service. These are usually always a different server. So occasionally I get a craving for a PB and J burger. This burger comes with bacon, peanut butter, grap jelly and a chipotle honey sauce. You get the perfect mix of sweet, savory, and salty. I have enjoyed going to Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers at several locations over the last many years, including this location near home at Tatum and Cactus. When I go to this location though, getting a burger and fries are hit and miss. Sometimes they are absolutely delicious and sometimes they are just okay. The service is good in general though sometimes it is busy and it takes longer than expected. There are some great promotions through the restaurant chain that I have enjoyed including for holidays throughout the year and for my birthday. I was impressed by the Father's Day promotion where fathers can eat for free. So, I jumped at taking my father to this location for Father's Day recently. We each ordered a burger. I paid the $2 extra for fries (yes, it's an up charge for fries!) while we got chips for my father. He also ordered a drink. We were watching the College Baseball World Series game until it changed automatically to the Diamondbacks pre-game. We asked for the game on one TV to be changed back to the College Baseball World Series game. While food came out rather quickly and the burgers were probably above-average for a burger. There were flies, however, all over the place, and several kept landing on our table and near our food prior to and during our meal. We asked the server about it, and she said that they were aware of it and unable to do anything about it (as they already had certain fans to keep the flies away...which weren't working). They also never got around to changing our TV until right before we left (and they changed the wrong TV). The location is quite large with a decent sized patio. It has fun themed decorations outside the building including a special beer-themed fountain. I've previously come for the Mac and Cheese but typically end up getting a burger. The All-American Burgers are apparently delicious but with so many specialty burgers, why stop there? From stuffed patties (Jucy Lucy Burger), the Bacon PB&J Burger, and even the Mmmac & Cheese Burger, each half pound burger is memorable unto itself! I have also enjoyed adding side salads (Caesar) before, too. There are also promotions, specials, a VIP club that anyone can sign up for (https://www.coldbeers.com/cheeseburgers/app), and happy hour deals. Every Monday, for instance, is Mmmac Daddy Monday, and there are even burger challenges and more on their website. Definitely worth a visit! And if you didn't know, Cold Beer and Cheeseburgers is part of Square One Concepts, one of many restaurant concepts (most in the Phoenix area). You can even get 25% off your first takeout or delivery order through their app and earn rewards on every order. Don't forget a free burger for your birthday. All in all, it was a disappointing last visit though the promotions still make it worth the visit, though I may need to think twice before visiting as often as I used to go (at least until I hear that the flies have all flown away!). read more

Way too expensive for the quality of food. I asked if I could order a kids meal for myself due to the portion size and was denied. That has never happened to me at any restaurant. I ordered the 3 sliders and asked if I could do 2 plain and 1 with cheese and was denied again due to all 3 needing to be the same. I felt bad for our waitress who was just following the silly jrules. But really?? My daughter and I ended up getting 3 appetizers, 2 sodas and our bill was $53. The sliders were overcooked, the fries were undercooked and the chicken tenders were just ok. I will not be going back. Do better! read more

This is a neighborhood spot that I frequent often , mostly due to proximity and sitting outside. It is a great spot to catch a game or meet with friends. The location outside is always convenient and a fun spot to socialize.. they have drink specials and monthly burger specials, the steakhouse burger is great. I would highly recommend it. read more

went to this place on a Friday around 1 o'clock and yes, the World Cup was on and it was very crowded but I sat at the bar waited for a while and the came up and I said I already know what I'd like to eat and she said you can't order food at the bar as other people were eating food at the bar and she turned me away. Horrible service!!!!! Just left because we were told it was a :45 wait because they were short staffed but the restaurant was 1/2 full and because they are backed up with online service. What sense does it make to accommodate online orders before your in person party. The party of 3 and the party of 2 that sat before us were not told about the :45 wait. According to the website for this location :11 min wait. I call BS! In our current financial climate when you want to charge $20+ for a burger when a year ago those same burgers were $12 customers are few and far between. You have lost a customer and I will be voicing my discontent to social platforms including family and friends to not patronage cold beers & cheeseburgers ever. read more

The other few times I've been to any of this chain's locations, I remembered the food to be flavorful and the prices to be fair. I can't believe I paid $36 for a cheeseburger, tots, and a beer (total included a tip). The mushroom cheeseburger was flavorless, the gluten-free bun it came on wasn't even warm. The tots were undercooked and mediocre. The beer was just a beer, nothing exceptional. My friend ordered a different style burger with sweet potato fries and said basically the same thing about her order. For food that came out so quickly, within seven minutes of ordering it, it should've been hot and it should've tasted fresh. Our server was nice. The TVs playing the college football games on a Saturday night were slightly too loud. This place could do better. read more

I can't say how sad I am that Cold Beer has moved away from Arcadia (40th & Indian School). The parking wasn't great at this location, but the service and food were wonderful. I hope they find a new location in the area. read more

First time we went here, the bartender chics were horrible. Three of them standing around talking about their night out and not paying attention to the customers. And our food sucked. My burger wasn't cooked to order and wasn't even hot. Sent it back and had to wait almost 45 minutes total. My buddy was starving so he just ate his as it came out. Horrible experience. Second time went there, sat at bar again and 2 bartender chics were lame but not the same ones. Food was weak. Way overpriced burgers. 25.00+ for a lame burger, boring fries and a water. Definitely not worth it. Third time went there (RELUCTANTLY) because my buddy was starving and it was 10pm and not much open in the PV area at that time. Waitress was the only one behind the bar, was attentive. Food came out and was a burnt burger. Ordered medium but came out crusty. Buddy was starving, as usual so he stuffed his down. There will not be a 4th time. Overpriced, lame food, poor service. All 3 times the place was almost empty so they're probably going to be going out of business soon. I had driven by his place several times and decided to give it a shot last night. It was Halloween so it wasn't packed which was nice. I ordered the open pit burger and fries. I wasn't expecting a lot because typically when a place has cheeseburger in their name your expectations are set far too high for the cheeseburger. However, I must say they have a great burger! This is a nice burger spot in North Phoenix with a big selection of burgers and more. Large appetizer menu which we appreciated because we weren't too hungry. Our server, Kaylee, was super friendly and did a fantastic job our entire visit. The sports bar atmosphere is fun and the decor is what you'd expect ~ lots of tv's! We tried to go there for lunch. We waited and waited by the "please wait to be seated" sign. No one helped us. So I went to the bartender to ask if we could get a table (we had kids with us so we couldn't sit at the bar) and she told us that they just got finished being really busy and they don't have the ability to help people right now? What? The restaurant was open, people were sitting at tables, and just because you're tired- you don't want business. So we left. Last night was a train wreck - it took at least 45 minutes for our order to come out and much of it was incorrect but once the plates were on the table there was no staff to be seen. We usually go to CB&C after youth baseball games. The service is S-L-O-W; last time we went there we waited over 40 minutes for our dinner to be served. With small kids that is an eternity. The food is good, but that only positive was completely lost in the frustration it took to be served in a timely manner and then there's the time waiting for the bill. There just aren't enough servers to accommodate all of the patrons. We keep thinking it's a "one-off," but it continues to be the same each time we go there for dinner. This could be a great little sports bar, but we're probably done trying multiple times to give it "one more chance." read more

Our first time coming here. The vibe is cool and tv's everywhere playing all the different games / fights / races. Food was pretty basic. Our favorite part was the appetizer, we got the buffalo chicken dip. The burgers were super basic, didn't have much flavor at all. We also had side salads to try to make a better choice but honestly it was like bagged salad from Walmart. Wasn't super impressed. First time here. Came with coworkers for lunch. Angela provided great service as well as all who brought the food to the table. Everyone else in our party of 5 ordered a burger. I ordered the Cobb salad. DELICIOUS!!! All the ingredients were fresh even the grape tomatoes. This is one of my shortest reviews but definitely enjoyed this restaurant. Didn't get any pics the other meals and only a quick pic of the inside. Just look at my salad. Yum! read more
