Located near St. John's University, with a Chase bank right next door.. this location is extremely convenient! It doesn't matter what day you come here or what time of day ... not only is there always a line but the attitudes of the employees is ALLLLL-WAAAYYSSS on LEVEL 10!!!! I get it, you have to deal with people all day: screaming kids, lovey dovey couples, those who overthink their ice cream concoctions, moms who ask their 3-month old what they want, etc.. I get it. When the employee asked what size he wanted he said just a waffle cone. She said "What size" he said a cone. She just kept repeating what size with an annoyed face and I said "he'll have like it". He told her he'd never been there before and was unaware of the portions (of course, since at most places a cone is ...well a standard sized cone). Better way to handle this situation? "we have 3 different sizes: you can choose like it, love it, gotta have it" .. or whatever the sizes are called. This cold stone is awesome! I had a terrible experience when I ordered a cake from the Howard beach cold stone so I came here to do damage control and get a last minute cake. The manager Josh was a life saver! He went out of his way to help me get the cake I wanted. He literally re frosted two cakes for me and Even piped on the colors I wanted, he totally didn't have to go out of his way but he did. Thank you Josh! The service there is great! Something was really off about my visit tonight, I waited 1 whole hour to be told they didn't have brownies, pecans, almonds, and a host of other items needed when it was time to mix my ice cream, but lets back track to the 5 random guys and one woman who are not in uniform wearing random "fitted" caps behind the counter who are working so slowly the line has constantly been this long -_- Why did I stay? I always come here for my ice cream fix! The birthday remix is my favorite! Never had a problem here. I just bought my daughters birthday cake here last month, January. Normally good I was very disappointed just now. I park and walk towards the door confident I would be able to enjoy some ice cream after my 15 min drive considering they close at 11pm and I had enough time to decide what flavor I want tonight. Cake and Shake!! I swear just when I thought this place couldn't get any more unhealthier they start making milk shakes and smoothies! Usually eating too much of their Cake Batter ice cream makes me sick but the idea of having it in shake form was just too appealing. So I ordered the small and instantly I was in sugary haven. I should have known that something was wrong when the massive line of patrons was missing. I haven't been there for a few years and was looking forward to my favorite Cherry Vanilla ice cream. When they said that many of the flavors had been replaced and they no longer have Cherry Vanilla, I settled for plain vanilla. Other than the neighborhood ice cream truck, this is the worse thing I ever tasted. I was in total shock at the poor quality of the product that was served to me. It tasted like it was made from a powder. There was not a hint of vanilla flavor anywhere. I get the impression that the business was sold to an owner who is cutting major corners. Very disappointed. Being a resident from Nassau county, I've been coming to this particular location for the last year and I must say this young lady with a gap went above and beyond to to make sure my ice cream was exactly like I wanted. Since I was disappointed the past couple of days because there wasn't any waffle cones but today this young lady which I presumed made the cones made my day. Her service was impeccable . From her friendliness to the way she took time to prepare my ice cream. She was very patient. This is still my favorite location. P.S the ice cream was yummy and she deserves a raise. I love coldstone! I'm so glad I found this location since it's close to where I live. I'm a big fan of the Oreo overload sundae. I love being able to make my own as well. The staff here is speedy and friendly. The patrons, however, are not as nice. I came here one evening with my boyfriend and it was rather crowded, so I ordered and while I was paying, a table opened up so he went and sat at it. A girl behind us who hadn't even ordered yet then sat down across from my boyfriend at the table. So rude! Rather than make a scene, we left and ate out ice cream in the car. If I can give some advice, maybe have more than 1-2 people working the line where the other one is hopping in and out of the back room every 3 minutes. Employees there gave us attitude when me and my boyfriend ordered our icecreams and then they proceeded to berate and insult my apperance, specifically targeting my hair.
