This place rocks! I had an iced campfire mocha and it was the best coffee I've ever had in my life. Never tried oat milk before but I wish it was in everything. My friend got the Bloom Latte. I'm not a huge tea person but the chamomile wasn't overwhelming. This place makes me want to get out there in the world and try new coffee. Friendly service and unique space too. read more

I've been to this place twice. It is ok for a coffee shop. All food items are pre-made so orders can not be modified. The ordering line is awkwardly situated and there are signs on tables telling patrons that parties of one can not sit at tables. This place is trying to be cool hip coffee shop but the corporate micro management is defiantly a turn off. Their coffee tastes bitter and acidic...just kind of gross, I had to put alot of milk and sugar in and I will couldn't finish the cup. The staff is pretty much minimum waged+tips attitude. Not friendly or very helpful just kind of there. All in all I probably won't make a third trip. read more

It's kind of pricey, but everything was delicious and very filling. We had the salmon sandwich and chorizo burrito to eat and I had the green hornet smoothie. I was worried that the burrito would be too spicy but it was perfect, and the smoothie was more like a juice so easy to drink and healthy. The outside patio was cute, but there should probably be more of those lamps to try to defend from bugs. Very friendly staff (shoutout to the black girl with the deathly hallows necklace!!!) and great location. Can't wait to come back in town to stop by again! read more

Nice staff and awesome atmosphere that reminds me of Milwaukee (took me awhile to connect the dots to realize this Milwaukee founded coffee shop is located on Milwaukee Ave!) - obviously a big fan of Colectivo/Milwaukee and v happy it found it's way to Logan Square. Each time I come to Colectivo, the place is buzzing and for good reason. The staff is very friendly and their coffee is great! I had the Brazilian pour over and I was not disappointed in the slightest. If coffee isn't your thing or if you need a bite to eat, they have a ton of teas and pastries to choose from (I highly recommend the carrot cake, it's v delicioso). They also have an AWESOME fire pit right outside that I love to sit at whenever I need a study break. Speaking of study breaks, my friends and I go here every so often to get some work done. Despite the place almost always being packed, they have consistently reliable wifi which is an absolute must for basically anyone living in 2018. I definitely recommend giving them a shot! read more

I'm gonna focus on the sandwiches and not the coffee (which is very good). First off, I'm glad that there actually is somewhere on this block, other than subway, to get a sandwich. Having said that, the menu's a little too cute for my taste. The Chipotle Chicken does not work at all, there's pickles on it, and some sort of wheat bread, not really what I'd pair with chipotle chicken. A fantastic sidewalk patio, complete with cozy Adirondack furniture and fire pit, more than makes up for Colectivo's mediocre coffee and espresso drinks. The food, on the other hand, is better than you'd expect for a primarily coffee shop. Try the Baked Oatmeal for a surprisingly delicious treat. The breakfast burritos and lunch wraps are also quite good. All in all, a great place for a light snack, decent coffee, and excellent people watching! read more

I really didn't want to like this place because I loathe the building its in and what it stands for. The MICA building is completely out of scale and style for our neighborhood (and its little friend, too, just south) but Colectivo is the only place along the route to my studio that has fresh smoothies. I needed one bad today to counteract a delicious but fat-soaked dinner the night before that even two martinis couldn't cut through. I ordered a Green Hornet. It was exactly what the doctor ordered, except that they lost my order and it took a longer time to get to me than normal. The manager brought it over to me with many apologies and offered me a choice of any pastry on-the-house. So now I love them. They have a good food selection, too. They kind of have everything you'd want for sitting around and working in a coffee shop. I'm giving them 5 stars -- but don't take that to be a reflection on the awful building that it's in! read more

This is the cafe Logan Square needed. It's great if you need to get some work done, catch up with a friend, or grab a quick bite. My most recent visit I had lox on a plain bagel with cream cheese and it was delicious. Fresh, reasonably priced, and technically it's a sandwich on their menu so you get to choose your bread. My friend had their green smoothie and said it was delicious. The only down side is that the seating is typically full, but I almost always find one empty table. You'll find that not everyone is there to lounge so things do open up quickly. Some other notable things.... I'm not a coffee drinker, ironically as I type a review about a coffee shop, but they do have quite a lot of options for those that are and aren't, like me. There is outdoor seating (which will be so nice for summer)! Right now they have a fireplace that stays on. If you're a solo diner they do have counter seating that faces the window (which is a view of Milwaukee). Parking is meter on Milwaukee, but there are a couple free blocks down a couple side streets. read more

The vibe here is pretty cool and I enjoyed sitting by the windows and watching the traffic go by on Milwaukee Avenue. I had a chorizo burrito and a cinnamon roll, both of which were nothing special. I was especially disappointed in the burrito, as it was pretty small and boring. Not bad, but not that good either. The cinnamon roll was fine, but I wouldn't get it again. The quality of the food was great and the coffee very good as well, the 3 stars is for the customer service. My sister ordered a pastry and when she took it back to our table she realized it wasn't heated up, so she went back and asked if they can heat it up for her and they said they could not bc it was a health code violation ..the lady at the counter did not even ask her for the option if she would like it to be heated up. Went to get some work done but could not focus because there was way too much blinding sunlight. I changed seats three times during my stay here and could not avoid the magnified UV rays on my face. Ultimately, I ended up leaving to finish my work at a nearby cafe because I could no longer see my computer screen. The managers need to install some sort of window tint or shade because it was honestly ridiculous. Drinks are ok, just get them to go.
