It took us a while to decide on what to get because there was just so much too choose from. They have a good mix of beverages from coffee and tea to beer and smoothies. They have tons of food options as well. We ordered special drinks they had that day - the cold brew mojito and the Tahitian Sunset smoothie. They were alright. My bf and I ended up switching drinks because the cold brew mojito just tasted weird for me. I was feeling adventurous but it didn't work out this time :) It was a particularly sunny and humid day, and because the entire front part of the shop is made of windows, there was lots of sunlight coming in and it made it unbearably hot and muggy inside. It seemed like they had no a/c or fans to help cool down. We opted to sit in their huge patio, where it was actually cooler. Major plus for having lots of seating options inside and outside. Milwaukee is a very busy street but parking shouldn't be too much of a hassle as there's plenty of metered parking. FYI, they turn off their WiFi for a period of time on Saturdays (I believe from 11am-2pm?) .. not too sure of the start time but something to consider if you're going there to do work or surf the net. read more

Just curious... 2 times when I've stopped by to grab a coffee, I've been asked by an employee to step back while waiting for coffee for social distancing measures. I was at fault and applaud the enforcement of protocol. Why then are folks allowed to enter with masks under their noses? I see a guy at the register for several minutes asking questions about items on the menu with his mask under his nose and this is ok? I then have to stand in this spot to place my order? I get that enforcing protocol is not easy and appreciate what I feel has been excellent service under difficult circumstances. Any chance signs can be posted to address this improper use of PPEs? When customers crowd your space, you guys rightfully enforce protocol. But when there is a more egregious violation where customers queue, these nose breathers are contaminating the area where someone just moments later will occupy the same space. recent studies have shown that the virus is transmitted via aerosol. Why have a very good protocol in place and allow these selfish folks who can't cover their noses for 5 minutes undermine safety? I'm sorry if I sound hyper vigilant. I hate wearing a mask too. First time at both this location and the franchise, but I am a HUGE fan. Colectivo roasts their own beans and I always love it when coffee shops do that. The staff are super friendly, lots of options, both food and drink-wise, and everything just smells and tastes wonderful. I ended up settling for a cold drink, a risk I took since I don't usually end up liking the colder coffee blends. However, I ordered a mocha shake (espresso, chocolate, and vanilla ice cream), and was SO pleasantly surprised. If you bring your own cup with you, they'll be more than happy to use that for you! They serve alcohol, gluten-free sweets, and lots of veggie options. Big space, lots of room including a patio outdoors, and an overall nice experience. This place has a zillion menu options, which was a little overwhelming as I first walked in. I just wanted a cozy, warm drink. The barista caught on to my indecisiveness and asked me a few questions before recommending the REVV tea -- it's an organic, caffeine-free, ginger citrus tea. I was very happy with the recommendation. I caught up with a friend at one of the small tables in the back. The colors throughout the cafe are super bright and fun, and gave it quite a cheerful vibe. However, it isn't what I would describe as private. All the tables are pretty close to each other. We went on a Friday around 1pm, and it was very full of customers. Mostly people in ones or twos, not a large-group kinda place. There are outlets for laptops and phone chargers and whatnot if you get a table against the wall. There are two, single-room restrooms in the back as well. And it's paid, street parking. There is also a cool-looking, outside patio with a fireplace that mo one accessed on the windy, winter day we were there. I am sure is much more popular in the warmer months. The overchoice aspect of the menu is real, but don't be afraid to ask from some advice. The barista who talked me through parts of the menu was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place for a coffee date, or a study place if you don't mind being physically close to the other customers around. read more

Love this location. I've been to the Milwaukee locations a few times and loved them then too! The Chicago location in Logan Square is more crowded (I went on a Saturday afternoon)! Parking is a hassle so if you can walk, walk. Tables are reserved for 2+ people which is nice! I tried the cream cheese brownie and it was AMAZING! It was so fresh and soft! It was heavenly. It was my first time trying it as well! And of course, a cup of coffee, it was great as expected. Next on my list: ice coffee! I think this will be my new coffee place since this is in my area but will avoid peak rush hour times so I can hopefully snag a seat. But they did a great job will this location! I was super excited to try this place out because I drove by a few nights before they opened and it was bumpin'! My fiancé stopped in one morning to get me an almond milk matcha latte and I enjoyed it. The person that took his order was nice and friendly. We went back today for breakfast and the space looked super cool. There were only a few people in there around 10:30 am on a Tuesday morning when the temp was 1 degree outside. The girl that took our order was not friendly, but our food and drinks were good. My fiancé got a coffee and the breakfast biscuit and I got a cup of chili and the mint matcha latte. He said his sandwich was good, but salty and crumbly and I loved my chili. My matcha latte could have been mixed a bit better as it came out a little clumpy. I'll definitely be spending some time at Colectivo when I need to get work done. I like that it wasn't dead silent but it wasn't super loud and crazy. Check it out! read more

I came here for breakfast earlier this morning and ordered a potato chorizo burrito and a horchata latte. The burrito was tasty, packed with so much goodness! The potatoes could've been a little more crispy. It also comes with a side of salsa. The horchata latte was good, it tasted like they added some oat milk, which I'm not complaining about. I wish there was more of the cinnamon flavor, I felt that the horchata taste was pretty light. But that might be a taste preference. Overall, I would come here again. The matcha latte I drank was good. Controversially, I find the Starbucks equivalent better. The burrito was fine too. However... the process to receive my matcha was a whole other story. I had ordered my meal with my friend, who ordered a spritz drink. A drink came out under my name and had my order sticker on it, but it was my friend's spritz. We figured it was fine and my drink would come up under her name. That was NOT the case. My friend's drink came up - another spritz. We pointed this out to the shorter barista. They said we could keep the drinks since my friend took a sip. We said she didn't take a sip of the newest spritz, to which the employee sassily replied "Just keep it. I don't have time for this." Well I've never... how rude! I work in the service industry and can't fathom saying that to a customer. Especially if it was my mistake. This is a really cool place. The space is open with large windows and even a fire pit and seating outside once the weather gets better. I ordered a smoked salmon sandwich and a vanilla latte. The latte was really good but the only thing I didn't get is that I noticed on my receipt that I was charged 75 cents for non fat milk and 75 cents for syrup. I get the syrup charge even though its 75 cents versus a standard 50 cents at other locales, but for skim milk?? Is that an error on the cashier's part? I really like the place and I will venture back because it is close to my work and looks like a great place to chill and relax with a cup of coffee or tea and get work done too. Nice spot. read more

I've been coming to this location for years. I love the southwest burrito and the cranberry muffins. The employees are friendly and the location has a nice ambiance. The outdoor area is very cool. I don't know of any other fire pits but we definitely need more of them in Chicago! I no longer pass Colectivo everyday on my way to work, but I still make the effort to get there weekly! read more

I'm definitely a fan. They've been open for about 2 months now and are a great addition to the area. I used Yelp to find nearby coffee shops and this was one of the closest, so we stopped by to get some work done. First of all, the design is so cool! The outside area has a fire pit and benches (unfortunately covered by snow from the storm Chicago just had), but a large space that I'm sure they'll take over when the weather warms up like they did with the Lincoln Park location. Inside there are plenty of small tables and a bar area to get work done. Plants, vibrant colors, and free wifi make it a great place to hang out. The staff is incredibly friendly and will give you food/drink recommendations if needed. The biggest surprise from this visit was that my boyfriend told me that the beer he ordered was one of the best he's ever had! I probably wouldn't order the coffee cake muffin again, but all of their baked goods looked tasty. TLDR: Great place to chill or get some work done. read more

They have some creative drinks available like their Horchata cold brew with oat milk. This time I ordered the Matcha latte with soy milk. I thought the drink was alright. First spot I hit when I landed in Chicago and got off the CTA and boy was it a good choice. Love the fact that they have a ton of seating as well as outdoor seating! Small mug size is miniature just don't even go there. You'll feel gypped. Buy a medium at-least. $3 Starting rate for pastries. Decor is vibrant, upbeat music, sugar skull theme, & an emphasis on Latin American coffees. I do like the bonfire outside. For the area, is it my favorite? Not really. Decent latte, amazing vibe, and excellent sparkling water on tap. But the lack of any vegan sweets to go along with my pretty good latte was a major buzzkill. I was surprised because I picked this place based upon the promise of vegan donuts. I asked whether they had simply run out of vegan goodies and was informed that "we just don't carry any vegan things. We have gluten free though." One of my favorite non-sequiturs. Sigh.
