I work locally in Woodbury. Have gotten lunch delivered to our business a few times now. Each time I obsess on what I am going to order; as my co-workers do the same. There are so many delicious sounding options. We have started ordering paninis and sharing them so we can try two at a time (they are huge). The bread is crispy and soft (not sure how) and although 10 minutes away, delivered warm. The macaroni and cheese is so great; you'll smack your mother. Don't think about the calories because you will wind up eating it on the treadmill. I'm really glad they opened here. We needed a great place that delivers. read more

I love the Mad Dog Monday special. Two hot dogs, fries and a fountain drink for $ 6.99. Can't beat it. They serve Hebrew National Hot Dogs on nice potato buns. Yummy! The Philly cheese steak special Wednesday is good, too. The soups are all good as is the homemade mac & cheese. The only thing I would not recommend is the panini sandwich. I discovered this place through Uber eats. It seems as though good delis are hard to come by nowadays in my area and this place was a pleasant surprise. Their egg sandwiches are top notch! I've ordered from them dozens of times now and the eggs are ALWAYS cooked perfectly and as ordered. I like them over medium and believe it or not, that seems to be an impossible task for most delis to understand. Their French fries are also amazing. I recently started ordering from them directly as opposed to through a delivery app and the staff is always friendly on the phone. They deliver to my home, even though I'm a town over and the wait is always reasonable and the driver is always super nice. While I can't speak for the rest of their menu, the breakfast sandwiches are the best around and the staff has been super nice to me. Obviously reviews are subjective but I found some of the negative things I've read about this place hard to believe. It's one of my favorites and I highly recommend it. read more

Went on a saturday afternoon and the place looks great. Great parking, nice look, clean and food all looks fresh. Guy behind the first section (salads) greeted us warmly and then... Unorganized mess. Signs say order here all over the place but stations arent manned. Everyone stands in a group and then you wait. Guy covering the burger section was rude and not keeping track of who was waiting first and no one on the floor to organize the crowd. He even commented that it wasnt his thing (to organize / keep track)... Guess he doesnt care about customer service Was unable to locate anyone who looked like a manager to talk to. We walked out and picked up lunch elsewhere. Disappointing and wont bother going back. There are many other options in the area. The owners and managers need to get his place organized... This place advertises itself as a "Manhattan Style Eatery", by which they mean the prices. Aside from being expensive it is a bit like organized chaos. The selection on the menu is also not necessarily what they have, so I was told by the person waiting on us. And what we did get was not that good, so overall, it is not worth the hassle. The concept for this place is an upscale cafeteria style restaurant but they totally fail to deliver either on food quality or basic levels of service. The servers on the line cannot and do not coordinate your order so you may place an order for turkey in one station and an order for fries at another and you don't get served them together at the same time. You also have to "ask" for plastic silverware and don't be surprised if your food is cold. Complete disaster. read more

I really wanted to like it. First two times I went I was disappointed but I was at the Post Office next door so I gave it one last chance. The Monday "special" was called Carnegie Deli style pastrami sandwich. It was expensive at $9 but I figured it was much cheaper than going to the real Carnegie deli (who should immediately sue this place). As soon as I picked up my featherlight package I knew I'd been had. There was such a paltry amount of pastrami on the sandwich. So little that I felt moved to write a review! I would think that the owners would be quite embarrassed to see what was being sold for $9. And although my request for "NO mustard" was clearly printed on my sandwich wrapper, there was more mustard than there was pastrami. read more

Been going to Coliseum Deli before they even opened in Plainview as a frequent customer of their Uniondale location. They have a extensive variety of sandwiches and salads and hot item specials each day to choose from. Everything is always fresh and delicious! My favorite item is their hibachi chicken salad which I get on a weekly basis. The chicken is fresh and it comes with a delicious raspberry vinaigrette. My family also uses Coliseum for catering several times a year. They do a wonderful job and the food is always spot on! read more

Can someone please explain to me why the woman with the dark hair at the salad station still has a job???? I used to order delivery but since the order was ALWAYS wrong in some way, I decided to start dining in. Even when standing right in front of her, she still manages somehow to always add ingredients to my salad that I didn't ask for, leaves out ones that I did ask for, and asks me 3 times if I'd like it chopped but then she chops it anyway after I said no 3 times! When I try to stop her, she cuts me off and says "I know I know, you don't want it chopped" as she's chopping it. I stand there confused... thinking "maybe that's some else's salad? It must be... she knows I don't want it chopped. What's going on here?" Only to get back to the office to a chopped mix of things I despise! The cashiers always seem to get rattled when figuring out who the next person on line is. One morning I stood there for 15 minutes because the cashier was trying to match up coffee orders with the corresponding egg sandwich order. Then she closed the register and told me to go to the other side. What a joke! Coliseum owners, you need to pay attention to what's going down in your eatery. Same gloves are worn to touch food, then money... your condescending salad server needs a frontal lobotomy, sun dried tomatoes and red peppers are NOT the same thing, your pizza guys needs to learn English or maybe someone should stand over him to make sure he's putting the correct slice on the counter because your cashiers sure arent doing that!! By the way, if your menu states the apple walnut salad comes with blueberry dressing than why is it always served with rasberrry??? I work nearby and refuse to waste my money at this place anymore. What a pitiful shame the Coliseum is... their crappy service and high prices makes me miss the friendly Chinese people that owned the "Pizza Deli" in that location before! I have been going to the coliseum since the deli in uniondale. Now that they have opened in plainview it's a plus. I have always been pleased with their service. The food has been great and the workers are all so nice and helpful. Everything is fresh out of the kitchen. Since I'm a student me and my friends go there in the mornings and for breakfast and sometimes for lunch. Since we are students on a budget we find that the amount of food that we get is perfect for the price we pay! read more

Nothing special at all. We ordered a ham and cheese omelette which was ok, their potatoes could have been awesome but were mushy and too sweet. We ordered the chunky monkey pancakes and 5 minutes later they came out and told us they had no bananas but could put strawberries on top, great no big deal here but when they came out they had no flavor to them at all, boxes pancakes are better than those. read more

I have been a customer to both the Coliseum Kitchen as well as the Coliseum Deli for a long time. I have had breakfast, lunch, dinner, and catered affairs from them. My experience has been great and if not the staff is eager and willing to go over and above to accommodate my needs to make it right. Their motto is "No Problem" and I have found this to be true....The food is fresh, tasty, and plenty of choices so if I eat there often I can always try something new. The staff is friendly and helpful which is as important to me as the food. If you are hosting an event and are having it catered, I recommend you give them a try. I guarantee you and your guests will be impressed. The quality of the food, staff, and presentation is a step above the rest! Stopped in for lunch as I was starving and I'm trying to find good lunch spots nearby to where I just moved to. Noticed that this is a huge deli and they have a lot of options. But this place has some negatives. First I went to the deli counter and asked for a wrap, instead of making me a fresh one, they pointed me to the fridge and said I could get the wrap I wanted from over there. Strike 1. I noticed the size of the wrap was super tiny and they were charging $8 for it. Considering I work in the financial district in NYC this "lunch" at this place was basically on par with the prices, but you get more food in NYC. Thirdly, I saw the pizza, it looked like Pizza hut pizza so I would stay away from that stuff. Overall this place was overpriced for the quality and quantity of the product it provided and my guess is because of the size of the place that this business has a lot of overhead and that's the reason for the inflation in price. We used Coliseum to cater my father's surprise party this weekend and they were wonderful. They brought the BBQ grills, serving tables, serving pieces and staff, setup and broke it all down without any effort on our part at all. The food was excellent and the staff was prompt and polite. i ordered a hot pastrami from the grill but waited well over a half hour while the checkout girl said "it'll be a few minutes" 3 times when she noticed i was still standing there patiently. it boiled over when it hit 35 minutes and i asked for my money back. she had to get the "covering manager" to get my money back and he couldn't care less.He did not apologise nor given any compensation, not that I was looking for any. I noticed he was just walking around aimlessly. Earl on the grill needs to learn how to multitask because i watched he walk back and forth for items that he needed for one order. I cant rate the food but the service sucked and this was on a Sunday, off peak hours.this was not the first time the grill took a long time. if its just a deli sandwich, then its ok but you still have to wait. read more

Coliseum Kitchen is the go to spot when in need of any craving for me. Every time im there i get something different and love it each time.. its clean.. cozy.. and has great service. The employees are always helpful.. my friend was allergic to sesame seeds and they were very accommodating. The tv screens, fireplace, and couches make it comfortable. I always come here after a soccer game, since it's around the corner from the travel fields. There abundance of food and space make it fun for the team to go to after games. read more

I have been to the place a few times and always leave with mixed results. First off, you don't go to a deli for pizza. I have tried it a couple times and it is barely passable. The salads are usually dry even with dressing and everything in general is overpriced. I have also had the Reuben there which was the best. You can't really go wrong with deli meats either. The decor and staff are both nice and a guy will usually reiterate that everything is made fresh and it will take some time. read more

Coliseum Kitchen is a dirty, unorganized, disgusting eatery. The food is often undercooked, and than stored for days upon days. The kitchen and freezers are disgusting and filled with dirt and other debris that is over looked. The staff will pick up food off the floor and than serve it to you like it was never on the floor. The chicken is often undercooked and raw, with pink spots all over, which they will than serve to an unsuspecting customer. The outside looks good, but go into the bowels of this beast and you will be sickened. read more

Very frustrating and disappointing experience. Working nearby, I was excited when they opened. The atmosphere is inviting and impressive and I was wowed by the selection of food and focus on fresh ingredients. I have tried them several times now and each time was more disappointing than the last. First, the management of the facility is poor. there is no rhyme or reason to the lines. when it is busy this can be extremely frustrating as the clerks seem to pick folk at random left to right. I prefer a selection of "hot food" at lunch and this is the poorest run section of the place. In fact, I find most of the servers working at this area to be rude and somewhat insulting. Not at all customer focused or friendly. Second issue is their serving portions are inconsistent. At my last visit (and it will be my last), the server helped a man who had joined the line later than me, gave him 4 pieces of chicken and two heaping spoons of mac and cheese. I ordered same, got 3 pieces including a half a wing and one spoon of mac and cheese. And it was almost $10 for this plate!! they do not make it clear that you pay for entree only - all sides are extra. ridiculously expensive. I can get a better meal, better service at a diner, be served sitting down and pay less. My husband had a turkey burger there once that was complete mush. I've ordered a palermo wrap (eggplant) three times there- each time different. one time acceptable, one time so small/thinly rolled, I felt completely ripped off. Their awards system is a joke. You have spend so much money to get any benefit. And the fact that they dont give you a card is ridiculous. You get a small sticker to put God knows where. They suggest on your credit card. Really? I'm done. Service and consistentency mean everything to me so i can trust my experience will always be a good one. read more

I went here a few times out of convenience from distance to my job. Every time I was there the service was horrendous. One time the lady was trying to pressure me into buying a slice of pizza when I told her 10 times I already ordered my sandwich, other times the service was unprofessional and unattentive. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and after a long break from this place I went there today. Unfortunately the same case. The guy that took my order was half asleep and didn't seem like he had any interest in taking my order. And on top of that was quite rude. He barely acknowledged me and when he walked away when I wanted to order something else I had to ask another worker to get some help. I mean I get that this is a "deli" and doesn't require hands on service such as a 5 star restaurant.. but come on, at least make the customer feel welcomed and make them think their money is well spent. Not to mention they are way over priced. Food is usually pretty good but you're going to pay way too much. Today is the 4th and final time that I placed an order with Coliseum Kitchen that I went to pick up 15 minutes later that was not only not ready, but not made at all. This time they were out of avocado and rather than calling the number I gave them which was repeated back to me twice, they just did nothing. I call in orders to be time effective. Four times I have gone to pick up an order and the order was never placed on their end. This time I couldn't wait and I was furious. They offered to make me a sandwich - which should have been at no charge but without that offer I would never give this place my money again. In fact, I work around the corner where we order often from the Coliseum, for nothing else but its convenience. Never again. The place really is beautiful but don't be fooled. They're food is incredibly overpriced and the quality is incredibly poor. I recently tried the Onion Briochere Wrap with Guyere cheese - of course the selling point and reason for its high cost - but unfortunately the cheese was swiss. This is the type of service you get at Coliseum - high end menu with low end delivery. Every time I go to the eatery I say I'm never going back...and this time, I mean it. I will never order through Coliseum Kitchen for our clients, and never for myself. If you want good food at a reasonable price, go to Fairway! Their ingredients are fresh and they have a true care for excellence while maintaining a modern and interesting menu for lunch and beyond.
