Reservation for 2 and upon arrival promptly seated. Started with a Bourbon Smash for the cocktail and was not happy with this. Server was kind to switch me out for a glass of Pinot Noir and explained that the cocktail was one of those canned mixes. Pass on the canned cocktail. Starters of Brisket Ravioli, which were very tasty and the portion size is ample, enough for 3-4 people. Tried with both sauces, the Goddess and the Marinara...the Marinara wins here. The Baked Potato soup was quite tasty, I rather enjoyed the flavors and the depth of the soup. Crispy Chicken Sandwich with Parmesean Fries for the entree. This fell a bit short for me due to the chicken breast was smaller and thinner than should have been given the size of the bun. It was cooked and seasoned well; not dry. My friend ordered the Salmon dish, which she raved about and cleaned her plate. Dessert... Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake for me, moist and not too dense. Would have been amazing if it had been warmed up a tad to take the chill off. Service was great, very attentive, kind and accommodating. Ample seating and they have a covered patio. This place is so cute! Came here on a whim one day last week. They are offering indoor dining, covered patio, and also have outdoor seating (if the weather isn't too cold). Got the Brisket Toasted Ravioli and crunchy chicken Tacos. The tacos were so good! The pico had this smoked/charred flavor. Will for sure be trying them again. My friend got the Cajun Shrimp (I think hahah) or whatever the dish was that is in my pictures. He liked it. Finished with a peanut butter chocolate cake for dessert! Yum! read more

We stopped in on a Thursday recently, because the place we wanted to try next door was an hour and 30 minute wait. We were seated right away because it was empty. That should have been a sign to exit. If asked if you want the heated patio or inside, choose the patio. It was warmer than inside. It was a little disappointing based on the reviews. The beef medallions were good. The bacon around them was almost raw, but the beef was good. The fettuccine was ok, but the chicken in it was chewy and flavorless. The service wasn't bad. She was quite friendly and accommodating. We probably won't go back because of the quality/pricing. read more

We really wanted this restaurant to be a good experience, but were disappointed. The appetizer of veal dumplings sounded great & had nice presentation. However, the dumplings were overpowered by too much sauce which was actually a bit heavy & cloying. The Piazza bowl had all the right elements, except the polenta which had an unpleasant taste, likely due to the kind of oil used in grilling. Fried chicken was so so. Service was adequate, but spotty. I asked for spoon to ladle a sauce I requested on the side. It never appeared. A disappointment we're not probably going to try again. read more

Stopped by for a casual dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. Great ribs and Cajun Shrimp appetizer. Salmon Cakes were super yummy. Jeff liked the shrimp and ribs so much he ordered a second round. Would like to see some higher end wines. My Malbec was okay, but there are better wines. Loved the high tips in the bar. Everyone was socially distanced and great ventilation. We will definitely go back. read more

I'm so excited about the new concept inside this darling location. It's a remodeled former gas station with excellent patio space lined with flowers, so cute. I could sit outside all evening and chat with all the passerbys. But the important part is the food! I really enjoyed the balance of the menu. They had some great appetizers and snacks. Perfect for my plan to hang out on the patio. There is also a diverse selection of entrees with both Snapper and salmon options. I appreciated healthy choices. Of course you can also go all-in and try the house specialty - fried chicken. I had the salmon with pesto and rice. My husband and son had the blues burger with red hot riplets bacon. OMG the bacon is incredible. I couldn't resist the chocolate cake with peanut butter cream. Made fresh that morning! They are working on their full liquor license so the bartender got fresh and creative and came up with a menu of cocktails made from beer and wine. Genius! We shared a pitcher of white sangria. Pit Stop has an eclectic menu with mouthwatering food put together by one of the city's best chefs: Chef Carlos Hernandez. As a vegetarian, I love their Piazza Bowl. Just popped in here for dinner on a random Thursday because we were in the area and BOY I'm glad we did! It has the cutest ambiance with a fantastic patio. We sat inside because it was hot, but next time I'm sitting on that patio! They had a surprisingly fantastic, diverse and upscale menu for being a cute old gas station! I was admittedly shocked. My hubs got the braised pork belly (holy heck!!!) and I got the chicken tacos! They were crispy and the sauce that went on too had just the right amount of smoky spice. We also started with the hummus which was amazing (but we ate it too fast for a picture). I told my husband I wish we lived on The Hill so we could walk here weekly! Would absolutely come back here for happy hour. The service was also top notch: so friendly and helpful. The food was decent but mixed. Toasted ravs and the green goddess sauce were amazing, truly some of my favorite toasted ravs. I'd need to come back again before I determine they're my absolute favorite toasted ravs. Fried chicken was pretty good as were the nice green green beans with them, salmon was decent though nothing special. The mashed potatoes I ordered with the fried chicken had a good flavor but the texture was gummy. The strawberry shortcake cake they had was amazing: light and fluffy with a great strawberry flavor. The wife found the Pit Stop on here, looking for a place that had dairy free meals. Apparently the Pit Stop was a garage at one point, but now a quaint restaurant. Carol had the chicken roudelade and served with mash potatoes and received 5 stars. Dian had the grilled Salmon on a sweet rice and was very good. Melissa had the vegan Cali wrap and it was okay. Finally, i had the Seafood linguine (Shrimp, crab and Salmon) in a saffron wine sauce. Excellent! They have sangria flights though I didn't see that on the menu. I don't love the wine selection. My husband loved the snapper and he had a salad it was good too. I had the fried chicken it was good, the sides were smaller. Green beans pretty good but the mashed potatoes fell flat. We ordered the carrot cake, let's just say it wasn't decadent. For a desert it wasn't over sweet and tasted pretty healthy . We didn't need that anyway. I would have ordered the chocolate/peanut butter cake in retrospect. Last week we split a porterhouse with a house made teriyaki. Risotto and asparagus came with and it was all outstanding. The sauce was a perfect compliment and I wanted to dip everything in it. The salmon and cheese appetizer was also delicious and portions are extremely generous. The atmosphere is very casual. It's the perfect place for fancy food without all the fuss. We refrained from dessert, but should have gotten something for later. Their desserts are on point and I've never had anything at Pit Stop that was disappointing. I went here for St. Louis Taco Week and only ordered the taco special (not on the regular menu) but I'm a fan and definitely want to come back again. I'm embarrassed to say that it's been long enough between then and now that I don't remember what was in the tacos I ordered - either brisket or pork belly - and it was DELICIOUS. My friend got the happy hour sangria flight special which included 4 generous sized sangrias of various flavors. I ordered a regular sangria which was really good but I regret I didn't get the special. A person at a table near us got fried chicken and it was a heaping plateful as the waiter walked by. Yum! There are two patios with tables spread apart so when it's outdoor weather it's a good place to be. I can't comment on the inside. I need to go back for a regular meal now. read more

We tried this place for the first time recently and it was not at all worth the 5 star rating it still holds. Our drinks and the toasted ravioli special we had were the only things that weren't dry that we ordered. We had their fried chicken and ribs and I could hardly chew either they were so dry, I had to drink water just to get it down. Maybe we ordered the wrong things but you would expect from a 5 star rating they wouldn't have a bad thing on the menu, right?! Service was decent, prices are high for quality. read more

We visited pit stop yesterday. And our experience was amazing. Staff was attentaive and our waitress was amazing. I quite don't understand the bad reviews tbh, I think people seem to forget everyone is human and make mistakes. Everytime we have visited here our experiences have always been amazing. Even being with mistakes, but in order for those mistakes to be fixed they also have to know about them in the moment rather from a bad review. Every visit we have had our servers are constantly checking in on how we like everything and making sure everything is as we hoped. Giving ample opportunities for us to address our liking or our concerns. Our desert one evening was not our favorite. When our server asked how we liked everything and we shared that it wasn't our favorite, she was quick to offer something else on the house and the manager was quick to stop by our table as well to offer. We chose not to this evening due to be full. However, they also removed it from our bill. I just hate seee such a could establishment be tarnished by bad reviews knowing the expiernce we have and how much the staff cares about their customers experience. read more
