Brisket and bbq chicken with baked beans
    Marla P.

Arrived into Dallas and checked in to the hotel. I was told I needed to try out some Texas BBQ so I checked Uber Eats. I placed an order for the 2 meat plate. I order baked potato and a side of beans. I wasn't expecting so much meat! What a pleasant surprise. I ordered the bbq sauce on the side and I received a nice decent potion of the sauce. Baked beans were good! The baked potato was huge and the toppings were generous. I must the say the only thing was just ok not impressive was the roll.

Just got takeout from Colter's through UberEats. We got 1/2 lb sausage, a half chicken and 1/2 lb of brisket for around $45. This was our first time trying this place. It's always a risk but this time it really didn't pay off. Everything is completely flavorless. The brisket is grey and dry, the sausage is literally like an Oscar Meyer hot dog, the chicken is dry and again, zero flavor. The "bbq" sauce is just straight up vinegar. This is the worst bbq I've ever had. The fact they call this bbq is a disgrace. It's inedible it's so bad. I won't even feed this to my dogs.

CHICKEN passed as pulled pork NOT!

Ordered by the pound brisket and pulled pork. Arrived home brisket looked dry smelled like liquid smoke. Chicken passed pulled pork went back with the chicken they claimed it was chicken NOT PORK. Dried and old! Nasty BBQ and customer service sucked.

The brisket was "amazing" and the sausage was "some of the best I ever had. And the pulled pork was "incredible" and the mac and cheese was "to die for.

Decent, grabbed some brisket, loaded baked potato and some green beans. Brisket was adequate, good smokey flavor but fairly lean which in the brisket world usually translates to less tender. That definitely held true here, I wouldn't call the brisket tough, but you need to use your knife to cut it. Potato was ok, beans were acceptable. Restaurant itself seemed pretty nice very large dining area, wider range of hours of operation than others in the area. Based strictly on the tenderness of brisket I'd pursue other options.

Had to pick the lumps of sour cream out that I asked to not be put in there.

The quality has really declined over the years. Got a Pinot and the bread was hard, it's like they don't even care anymore. Asked for a potato with no sour cream and when I get home and warm it there's a big glob of curdled sour cream.

Always a delight. Food is outstanding. Husband loves the turkey and I prefer cobbler. I got the baked potato with brisket for my meal with a side of cole slaw for roughage. Yummy.

I like eating Colter's bbq and its usually pretty good. But I wasn't impressed with the food at this location. Charged me to much for such a small amount and it wasn't tender or very flavorful.

    2 meat plate.

This unassuming restaurant tucked in a corner of nondescript row of stores has stood the test of time. My first review of the place was in 2013. Here it is 13 years later then it is still going strong. I went for lunch with the family on a snow day. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. No numbers, they just remember who you are. I always get combo number 1 and add sweet potato fries. The prices are great and not much more than McDonalds but the difference in value is significant. The burgers are not thick but this time I noticed the double burger (#2) is just a couple of bucks more than the the single patty in #1. Note to self for next time. Although the patty is thin, the flavors work. The burger comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mustard. No ketchup, you add that yourself. The bun with sesame seeds always comes out piping hot. Sweet potato fries are crispy and not greasy. The combo comes with a drink for $10.99. That's a deal. I hope they stay in business another 13 years!

The neighborhood may continue to change around it, but Chip's remains the same. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Chip's has an old school, nostalgic feel. The restaurant has an iconic sloping roof with a yellow outdoor exterior and a big green sign with its logo. Inside, there are plenty of booths, a bar, and even outdoor seating. Chip's has grown and expanded over the years but to me that adds to the nostalgic charm. 1 Star. Service - Chip's may have invented counter service. Upon entering, you look at the menu posted on the wall and place your order. You'll get a number (or they'll ask for your name), and you grab a table, and when your food is ready it comes out. Fast, efficient, and the staff was super friendly. 1 Star. Food - Chip's is known for its poppy seed hamburger buns. While it's pretty and tasty, the most important part, the patty, is pretty average. Honestly, there are many other great burger joints in Dallas. On the other hand, the fried onion strings are a must order for your side. While I wasn't a fan of the burger, the fried onion strings saved my meal. The Oreo and Fresh Banana shakes were also a nice cold, creamy, sweet ending to my meal. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. I hope Chip's never changes.
