Caesar Salad from Colton's
Donnie B.

Having a coupon for a restaurant is always a good way to drawing us there. Armed with $10 off a $40 purchase, we went to Colton's in Sand Springs for Xmas Eve lunch. The lunch rush had just ended so we were seated quickly and served by "Jessie". I ordered the Ribeye with baked potato and Caesar Salad, which came out first. The greens were relatively fresh with plenty of croutons and shredded parmesan cheese. However, I am not a fan of the dairy-free, tangy, vinegar-forward dressing, so sadly I only ate half my salad. Made me sad because I love a good, hearty Caesar Salad. Plenty of warm yeast rolls were brought out as well. The interior of Colton's looks like a giant cabin out on the prairie with heads of deer and moose hanging proudly on the atrium walls. Steak was cooked to medium perfection, and the baked potato had plenty of butter. Jessie continued to tend to our drinks and ensured we were well served. Usually a 3-star visit, today was a pleasant surprise earning them a clear 4-stars. Best steaks in Sand Springs.

Great beef choices! My baked sweet potato a bit on the done side...gluten free options and optional bucket of peanuts for the table!

Enjoyed a nice steak dinner...Mama had Ribeye, I indulged a T-bone steaks were delicious, our server was a sweetheart, and we had an overall good experience. Drinks are $3+ each...surprise! So be prepared for that. Protein was not overpriced...it wasn't cheap, but we weren't eating cheap cuts..I think ribeye runs $11/lb, so a $25 cooked steak with the fixins is a decent value This is definitely a place for repeat business as long as they can maintain the quality...but I hope they drop the price of their drinks!!

The food at Colton's was delicious and the service was outstanding. Ask to be seated in Victoria's section. Five stars !

We were visiting my brother in sand springs OK, and wanted an upscale restaurant ta take him to. He usually eats at home. And since we were staying at a hotel close to this restaurant we chose this one and were glad we did. We were seated immediately and drink orders were taken. They had limited beer selections but we got by, iced tea and soda were fine for most of us. Our server was very new and had to check with other people about some items, but we were glad she was forthright and pleasant. We all ordered the rib-eye steak , but all chose different sides and cooked temperature. When she delivered the food, including the salads, all with different dressings, she was correct worth placement of the food. Food was tasty, tender, served promptly and we could not have asked for more.

And the other guest had wague steak and Brussels sprouts with a wedge salad . The blue cheese was impressive but not as impressive as the desserts. Don't skip the coffee at the end, it's a great end to a wonderfully sweet finish of the desserts. Waiters were attentive and helpful in selection. You won't be disappointed. Upon arriving at my table, I was offered still and sparkling water to drink and my server was very attentive to my needs and kept both of my water glasses full. I ordered the chicken piccata. The chicken picatta came with a generous helping of three pieces of chicken served with a buttery pan sauce and capers alongside whipped potatoes. The chicken was excellently cooked and was tender and moist with ever-so-slightly crisped edges. The sauce was tangy and the capers added a bite that worked perfectly with it on a way that really made the chicken piccata shine as a dish. The whipped potatoes did not have a lot of flavor on their own, but meshed well with the pan sauce. At the conclusion of the meal, the check came with an Andes mint. I love those, and while it is a small gesture, it made me smile and improved my evening just that little bit more. This was a great experience with great food! 4.5/5

Could use more beef in the dish, but the flavoring was perfection. Our service was a little lax to be a fine dining restaurant. Chris (bartender) was absent a bit and then when we asked for things, he'd forget. We also didn't have table settings when we were sat and in our party of 4, only received 3 menus. My fiancée really enjoy the chocolate ganache dessert. I've heard they have decent specials/happy hour menus but cannot speak from experience since we went on a Friday night. Cons. Our server started the evening stating the restaurant's goal is to serve the best steak we've ever had. Sadly, this goal was not met. The charcuterie was a basic spread. Cheese squares looked like they came out of a package, a small sliver of goat cheese, maybe a quarter of an apple. The biggest disappointment was the steak. I ordered the classic with mashed potatoes and green beans. It had little to no seasoning. The steak was tough. My fiancé ordered the umami ribeye and it was not properly rendered. He did enjoy the sides and the umami sauce but, for a steakhouse, the steak was not well cooked.

It was made properly, and I was happy about it. I was delighted to see they made the Caesar salad with real anchovies. The gentleman who made it tableside was friendly and gave us a nice show. Oh and the complimentary bread was awesome. The unfortunate thing about this evening was that they were down one waiter, and they were extremely busy tending to a large party in the back, so we had to wait almost an hour for our entree. However, the pianist informed us of the situation and nicely tamed my flame so to speak. The entree was definitely worth the wait! I had the lamb chops with risotto, which was cooked perfectly with generous portions. My wife's shrimp pasta was fantastic as well. I had low expectations for Italian food around Tulsa, but this definitely tops the list for sure. To round out our meal, we had to try the tiramisu, which did not disappoint (cue the annoying influencer voice). It's likely one of the best ones I've had outside of Italy. Highly recommend! We were sad to hear that the owner had passed away recently, but his legacy will live on, and I can't wait to go back to try the other dishes.

We started with cocktails along with the hummus and flatbread--both were so good that we ended up ordering a second round of flatbread. Definitely a must if you go! For the main course, the scallops were absolutely excellent--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Two in our group ordered the halibut, and while it was good, they felt it was slightly overcooked and could have used a bit more flavor but it won't stop us from returning! A special mention goes to our server (I believe her name was Cameron), who truly made the experience even better--so friendly, attentive, and an absolute joy throughout the evening. It was also wonderful to see Amelia greeting tables and clearly caring so much about her restaurant and every guest's dining experience. We wrapped up the night with the strawberry rhubarb cobbler, and it was outstanding--the perfect sweet finish to the meal. We got sat in a booth immediately. The ambience is nice. It's a dimly lit elevated but casual place. You could go dressed up or you could go in jeans. The menus is smaller but offers steaks, chicken, fish and lamb. We got two appetizers, one entrée, one dessert, and four drinks. Let's talk about it. Cocktails- 10/10 I had the Velvet Veil & my husband had the Peach Blush. They were so good that we had a second round. They have few other unique cocktails and a large beer and alcohol list. Tuna tartare- 10/10. It comes with wonton chips and honestly, you don't even need them. The tartare by itself is so delicious. We will go back just for this and a cocktail. Lobster bisque- 8/10 a bit spicy which seemed odd but good lobster flavor For our main, we split the lamb chops with a side of fried Brussels and also mashed potatoes. Lamb chops- 10/10 there were 6 chops so we each got 3. They were drizzled with a beautiful mint sauce and a sweet demi glaze, not too sweet. Garlic whipped potatoes- 10/10 you gotta like garlic and chives. But it isn't overwhelming. Brussels-10/10. They were on the sweeter side too and some of the best I have ever had. Bread pudding- 10/10. We have a hard time fining a bread pudding without bananas or raisins, as we don't like them, and this one does not have them. Simple and delicious! Overall we really enjoyed it. We felt like we got an elevated steakhouse experience without spending a ton of money. The prices are fair, the wait staff is wonderful, the ambience is perfect.
