Nice neighborhood diner. The fam went for breakfast . Food came out nice and hot and exactly how we ordered it. Friendly and helpful service. Only issue was the home fries could use a little more seasoning, they were very bland. We had the fried fish and eggs, fish was crispy, hot and delish. Banana pancakes good as well. Would definitely return

The food was really good. I went with a friend for lunch and it was my first time. The service was good and fast, and they wanted to make sure you were happy. The ambiance was like going to your aunts or grandma's house, and you know you are going to eat well.

We walked in on early Saturday morning and this place was just OK. Nothing crazy to really say much about. At first we walked in and we were cold, he wasn't on and I think after someone finally complained about it then we started feeling it. The food was delivered on time at all but it was just plain and basic. I wouldn't return here, there's nothing that's gonna suck your taste buds on fire. It's just a place that I think you should go to grab a quick breakfast and then continue on with your day.

My breakfast was going fine, not great, until I found a roach in the middle of my omelette. They don't have to worry about me, paying for this or eating here again.

Just had lunch with my mom at the diner. I was a bit disappointed this time. I've been here several times and the food had always been good. Today my mom had the Oxtails with Rice which I should have order because it was good. I especially liked the sauce that they were cooked in. We chose this diner today because I had a taste for Meatloaf something that I hadn't had in about two years. I was disappointed because it was so bland, definitely needed some seasoning. The mashed potatoes and broccoli were good. So I'll take my meal home and add a little flavor. This is a nice neighborhood diner with a lot of regulars. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I had to change my 3 star to a 4 star because every other meal here has been pleasant.

Ok so I really don't do a lot of ratings. But this morning I feel that I must. Just got back from having breakfast and I must say. This is my first time coming to this Dinner and it won't be my last. The Food was absolutely amazing and the service was top quality. My hostess was a Gorgeous and Friendly Lady Name MERY. Besides having a beautiful smile, which is a great way to start the day. She was very attentive Folks definitely come here. I am sure the other hostess are good. But Mery I will be looking for her again.

Love this diner. It's right near my home so it's always a quick and convenient stop. Food is always good. Whether for breakfast , lunch or dinner. I've been for any time. Also never long waits or too crowded. I've ordered ahead and food is always ready in about 10/15 mins ready for pick up. Prices are great. Good size portions. And the staff is always friendly and inviting. One of my favorite diners. Glad it's so close to where i live. Go for it

Anytime, I find myself in, and I am in a lot, it feels like in a boat, a special place, private in a cruise boat... The food is composed of Italian and South American dishes, a very rare combination that gives a lot of choices of very delicious meals... The service is super great, they are very patient, knowing it is very difficult to choose from the great diversity. They have a lot of parking spaces, either in the building garage or along Main Street. Just check it out and think me later.

What a hidden gem!…read more My cousin was in a play recently, and another family member was researching where should we go for a linner - and stumbled upon 179 Main. From a current Westchester resident, my sister, mom and I were hesitant to go , but we were proved wrong that it was a great restaurant. We were a party of 7, and we all felt cared for, the staff was understanding, and attentive from the moment we sat down to leave. Each member in my party had something diffferent: 1. Chicken sandwich 2. Burger 3. Ahi tuna tacos 4. Carbonora (x2) 5. Chicken capricossa 6. Chicken Parm - and even accommodated vodka sauce instead of regular marinara sauce. Wine was nicely poured, cocktails were tasty (although I didn't love my raspberry martini) beer was cold. The restaurant was clean and tidy, and welcoming. Will be coming back ASAP!

The service and food, on the other hand, were quite a mixed bag. We ordered a margherita pizza, pancake tacos, steak and eggs, and French toast with a side of sausage--the pizza, at least, was good. However, the "French toast" was more like an anemic panini press trying to pass as French toast. The steak and eggs comprised of a fairly well-cooked (that is, it was the right temperature) yet underseasoned steak of a relatively dubious cut, underseasoned home fries, and eggs done wrong (sunny side instead of over easy). The lattermost was the start of the problem, as I was willing to give it a shot, but found the texture off-putting. In light of this, I brought the problem to our server Adalia, who brought it to her manager Elvia. Thankfully I had someone else with me to tell me what happened: Elvia came over without addressing me on their error, silently took a look at my plate and instructed Adalia to have the kitchen put the eggs back on the fire. She takes my plate to extract the eggs, and brings them back (unsurprisingly) completely overdone, first in Elvia's hands, then in Adalia's for her to serve; we send for a refire, and they come back correct 7 minutes or so after I've already finished eating. Considering the hassle it took to get them, I couldn't trust it enough to eat, leading them to waste as well. After all was said and done, the GM Amer comes over to see how things were, and was thankfully helpful and understanding of our situation. Here's the rub: I was initially willing to overlook the steak, the home fries, and even the eggs if the error was properly ameliorated. Adalia and Amer both did very well, and I'm grateful for them for that; Elvia, on the other hand, managed to break the chain of competent customer service by directing the server to handle the problem in a way that was set up for failure (if you mess up an egg, it's an immediate refire because of how the egg cooks in the first place -- Amer also arrested to that policy) all without addressing us and taking accountability, due to negligence or whatever else. Not only that, but when sending the incorrect eggs over the second time, she couldn't even bring it to us herself--it would have been easy, seeing as she was the one that originally had them--and left Adalia and her tip to potentially take the fire if the patrons happen to be angry. Mistakes are fine--everyone makes them--but I'd describe this as cowardly more than anything else, and I take issue with that in particular from a leadership standpoint. While Amer graciously extended an invitation for a better experience next time, I can't say I'll be taking him up on the offer when their service and food are this misaligned; unfortunately, a disappointment overall.

We started off with some drinks, and their jerk spring rolls and codfish fritters. Everything was really good. Hubby had their lomo saltado. He said it was OK but the rice was dry and it wasn't served as it should be, with the sauté on top of the French fries. I had the ribeye with mac & cheese and cabbage slaw. The steak temp was perfect, as was the mac. The slaw was bland - I wish I ordered a different side. My kiddo had their chicken fingers w/French fries, and liked it. My MIL had their pollo a la brasa, and enjoyed it as well. We surprised hubby with a happy birthday red velvet slice and headed out. Service was great and it was a vibe with the live music. The chef comes from the world of high-end NYC dining, and you can feel that experience in every detail of the food. There's a level of creativity, precision, and thoughtfulness here that honestly feels Michelin-worthy. This makes sense, because the restaurant has earned that recognition. Beyond the food, Archie's also has one of the best Scotch and whiskey (bourbon and rye included) selections anywhere in the area. It feels curated by people who genuinely care about food and drink, not just running another restaurant. We eat there often, especially for brunch, which is spectacular and consistently better than it has any right to be for a neighborhood spot on City Island. The best example of the attention to detail was the chopped cheese sandwich special. When it arrived, my first thought was: "How is anyone supposed to eat this giant thing?" But then you take a bite and realize the bread was custom made specifically for the sandwich. Somehow it completely melts in your mouth along with the meat and cheese, making this enormous sandwich unexpectedly delicate and perfectly balanced. It's the kind of detail most restaurants would never even think about. Archie's is a true hidden gem and proof that truly exceptional food can exist in places you wouldn't expect.
