My brother got a burger topped with a fried egg and chili ....disgusting. inedible due to the chili being straight from the can... i got a chicken souvlaki, that chicken was dry and hard, i could have used the chicken tenderloin as a self defense tool. On top of it all, my wife ordered the Eggplant parm with spaghetti.... HOLY SHEET...that things had to be OLD and the sauce was straight out of the can as well, no seasoning, no oregano, no nothing...wtf? How the helk are they opened and operating!???? Only good thing here was our Server Molly! She was very nice and sweet, and professional. This was the first time I've been at this new location and I brought my friend here for lunch. The food was very delicious. I had the veal cutlet parmesan with mashed potatoes, spinach and crab meat bisque soup. My friend had the crabmeat stuffed chicken cutlets with baked potato and a salad. It started with 2 garlic butter rolls too. We then had dessert. I had the rice pudding and my friend had the strawberry cheesecake. The portions were huge too. The waitstaff that waited on us was awesome and friendly. We received our food served quickly and it was the perfect temperature. The prices were very reasonable too. Went with a group of family members during a busy Saturday afternoon. Waitress joined two tables together quickly and we were seated promptly. Service was polite and they were well staffed. Our group had 7 people and the waitress took all of our orders and returned shortly with beverages and the food followed within a reasonable amount of time considering all the tables were occupied. I ordered a Chicken Fajita with Salad. Food was good, however nothing amazing. Don't get me wrong, it was OK, but there was no seasoning on the chicken what so ever. Wouldn't hurt to throw a dash of Adobo or fajita seasoning... on a fajita, no? My mother-in-law did comment that her Roast-beef sandwich was delicious. Perhaps I am being nostalgic as I used to go to the old Columbus Diner across the street from when I was a kid through adulthood. The place had character from it's lunch counter to the photos on the wall. The new Columbus Diner lacks some of that weathered charm and suffers from the same cookie-cutter architecture and bland motel decor that is just not memorable. On top of that, the food was not memorable. I usually will give a place two tries before writing them off, so I will likely go again and try something different to see if another dish fares better than the one I had. read more

I have been ordering here for about a month. I just payed $17 for a Tuna melt. They keep changing their prices then say they updated the menu. Then update your website and the menus you distribute as well. Because the price I read is not the price you give. 1 day I paid 3.50 for a sausage egg and cheese on a roll, very next day it was 5.50, then the next day back to 3.50! How can you trust a place that cant even manage their own prices? Plus every time I give my card number to pay, they give an attitude like I am doing something wrong by paying with card. If you dont want to take cards then dont. If its an option, then be happy someone is paying you. I am beyond pissed and will not be buying from here anymore, that I can promise. There must be a better place around here that VALUES the customer. These people are greedy and ungrateful. I never write yelp reviews but I felt COMPELLED to share this. I was here for the 3rd or 4th time. I don't know what happened, but OMG...the food was awful. I should have returned it, but didn't. Seafood platter - shrimp, scallops. My friend had a pasta dish with sauce. Just about the worst food we ever ate. I didn't get food poisoning, but sure thought I would. $50+ for the 2 meals plus drinks. Ridiculous. My second time here brought my mom after taking her to the doctor. I wanted breakfast had scrambled eggs with bacon, home fries, and wheat toast everything was great. The waitress was slow. She gave us water and wanted our order (it was a table of 8) and didn't even give us the menus when we were waiting for the first five minutes. We ordered coffee, which tasted old and watered down, and she kept messing up the amount we ordered. It took 20+ min to bring out our food. We asked for extra utensils and she said "don't worry about it". Needless to say we never got it. One of our table members had to reach out to another empty table and take the utensils from there instead. Food is nasty and tastes old. I got the Greek kebob. I ate here on Saturday, Feb 12th. I love a diner, they are usually so cozy and remind me of home, but today i had the worse home fries i have ever had. The food was so cold and the home fries were so bland. The meal was eggs, home fries and beef sausage, for me and my husband which cost $28 for the both of us, i am glad i did not pay more, i would have asked for my money back. Don't eat here! Save your money!!! The Owner can't take constructive criticism. My family and I ordered baked ziti and fried eggplant, worst mistake. The Eggplant was more like eggplant crusts in oil and the baked ziti was in a pool of oil and meat water. When we explained to him it was bad the owner was in denial and said his customers like it wet. Uhm, WTF? If you're one of those people I'm sorry for you because you haven't eaten real food. In conclusion, today I was fed fried crap they called fried eggplant and fancy crap with cheese microwaved on it they called ziti. I was excited to finally dined in at a place close to the Bronx. I was disappointed. They manager was walking around the diner without a mask. I noticed that the chairs or the salt, pepper, ketchup, etc was sitting at tables and were not sanitized. That gave me a knot in my stomach and couldn't enjoy my breakfast. The workers/waitress were very pleasant, but the facility is not cleaning like they should. My humble opinion after travelling upstate and experiencing the way all stores, restaurants deal with the CoVid. I've been coming here since I was a teenager with my dad. My dad conducted so much business at the old location it was ridiculous. The food has always been consistently decent and the old staff were great memorable characters. These guys have been in the neighborhood forever! I don't feel the new location is any bigger but that's just me. A few days ago I took some family for breakfast and was just struck by the awfulness of the new waitstaff. Just nasty on so many levels. Our waitress cursed at her patrons, was rude, non attentive, and was sure to make us all aware that she didn't give a F!!! SHE CURSED AT HER PATRONS. I got in and was quickly pointed to a dirty table. My waitress gave me a menu then came back and swiped half the table with a rag. Less than 3 minutes later, with my nose in the menu, she asks if I was ready to order. (Really?) Not starting off great but I'm trying because I think this is a new place. The bus boy sets down my water and notices my dirty table top and properly wipes it down, apologizing. I order a spinach and feta omelette with wheat toast and crispy potatoes, please. The drinks that come with the meal, juice and tea/coffee, come out quickly. The juice is in the smallest glass I've every seen used in a restaurant. The tea is good, the juice is from some unrecognizable citrus so I'm thankful that it's in a small glass. The toast comes out barely warm and half burnt. I scrape the burnt parts off and coat it with butter and strawberry jam. (The Smucker's jam is good, the off-brand is not!) The omelette ingredients are mixed into the eggs then folded up, which is okay - though not technically correct - but the eggs seemed chemically? or fake? or powdered? either way kinda weird. The spinach within was chopped up and likely previously frozen, and definitely flavorless. The feta cheese, when I found it, was good. Potatoes looked promising, a thick slab of chunks, crusty and brown on top, but proved to be only warm and chewy in a been-warmed-up kind of way. I left most of it. Such disappointment. I doused things with salt and pepper to get some flavor going but alas, all for nothing. The waitress never noticed. She seemed to be looking above my head and never actually at me. Parking was ok, with a sign pointing you to use the front entrance despite the treacherous icy parking lot. It was surprisingly busy, for a place with sub-par food. read more

I had to send back 3 items because they weren't cooked properly and instead of apologizing, I was met with hostility from the manager because I wouldn't take a substitute. He basically told me it's not his fault and that I should've said something sooner. But after having 3 out of your 5 items not right, what other option would I have? And to top it off, the service was extremely slow and the waitress was never around. We never have this issue with Martha. I've tried to give this place a chance time after time. Each time they mess up, the usual managers that are there are courteous and respectful. This guy? The tall one with grey hair, ensured that we won't be coming back. Today I had a very heartless experience at Columbus dinner I have been a customer for many years even when the had the restaurant on the other side today I went to have breakfast with my mother my son who is 1 year old and my sister we waited 35 min for our food when we got it the order was wrong had to send a plate back and a cup that had a fly in the water also but that isn't the issue that's a normal thing that occurs I started feeding my son the soft potatoes and with in 2 min of receiving our food not even on a second cup of coffee yet my son started choking two servers and the cashier was close by and no one aid in my situation for about 3o long second I struggle with my son knocking his back finally he threw up and the food came out I didn't even get the wipe the vomate off my son and the server walked up and handed me my check not even a napkin towel or even ask if I need an ambulance service I was so traumatized by the situation I walked up to the cashier still with my son covered in vomate and show her all the food was still on the table and she still just charged me my sister helped cleaned up the mess off the floor with our own napkins and then a nice west indian man came ove to help mop and we left my son sat in the car not talking smiling or playing all the way home I could believe people could be so unsympathetic in a situation like that. Been to This specific diner multiple times and the staff are always great including this day with the exception of the Manager Manny. My girlfriend, me and family were eating our meals when my girlfriend started to take a bite from her pasta, she noticed 3 small black hairs inside of her pasta, by the way my girlfriend has long dirty blonde hair. Hairs looked from a fresh shaved male face or private area. It was disgusting and put us all off to where we couldn't continue our meals. I informed the waiter and he apologized and took the pasta away immediately, I also requested to speak with the Manager about the issue. About 20 minutes past without anyone coming to our table, The Manager then decided to send back waiter instead of coming himself, the waiter came to inform me that The Manager will just take off my girlfriends meal from bill. I informed the Waiter to have his manager speak with me in person cause you don't send an employee of an establishment that your in charge of for a major issue which I believe this was. Another Ten minutes past until Manager finally came to our table to which he was already being defensive and asked what I wanted, I asked for his name to which he didn't give initially but I told him mine. He then said his name is Manny, I then told The Manager Manny he needed to rectify the situation, he then again asked what did I want. First I told him I've been at this establishment multiple times and i feel the way he sent his employee to handle situation instead of himself coming was wrong, second the way he approached to talk to his customer was also not good. Third, I asked him to take care of bill due to my family not finishing even half our meals and my girlfriend literally was just about to start eating hers when noticing the hairs. Manager Manny took half off the bill and I asked if that's all he can do, he became defensive again and pointed at bill saying "Look I took off two meals and only left other two" I said to him that we didn't even eat half of our meals cause of what happened and he again said that's what he can do. I paid cause I didn't want to continue or just walk out to which he probably would've called the Police. I also informed him that he lost a customer and I will tell people not to come to this establishment due to what happened. He got upset and went back into kitchen of diner. Been coming here for a long time, love the people there. Food is average, reasonably priced very family oriented. My kids love it here.

Breakfast here is amazing. Tried almost everything on the breakfast menu. Can't speak for lunch and dinner, but I will say the parking is usually empty for lunch and dinner when I pass by. Breakfast usually is full. Most of the waiters are attentive and friendly. The busboys keep the coffee pouring and the coffee is the best coffee I've had in a diner. The home fries could use a little more flavor, but I still get them every time. It pairs well with eggs. They won't always tell you when you get the breakfast, that you can substitute the toast for a side of pancakes. If you go during the week, they even give you a shot of orange juice. read more
