Bad... Just bad in general. I would give 0 stars if I could, he gets one for cable management. He charged 300$ for the cables and 100 for windows 7 I never got the disk... And I pretty sure it is a trial version. Not to mention that he partitioned my 2 hard drives into 4 ... I didn't ask for that. I will re write my review of he fixes my partitioned drives. If I could give 0 stars I would, this 1 star is being generous. The store carries old computer parts that are all outdated and over priced. The person that helped me was extremely unhappy not a single bit of a smile, no excitement in the voice. It seemed as if i was ruining his day by coming in to ask a question. Turns out the guy was the owner. After he finally got out of his seat to come help me I was looking for 4 tiny screws for my computer I was building after he started poking my computer part which I bought in (which i thought to myself anyone that's knows anything about computers would not poke and play with brand new thermal pads and get skin oil all over them) he found 4 tiny screws that are not even a cm long and asked $25 for them. I couldn't believe it. I started laughing at first thought he was making a joke but no he was serious. What made it even better was he pulled the screws out of something that was in the trash. I told him I can go online and order these right now for .25c I was just trying to save some shipping time. No wonder I have never heard of this place, anyone that knows anything about computers would realize this is not the place to go. I would rather take my computer to the geek squad at best buy and that is saying something. Gary is extremely experienced and efficient when it comes to computer repairs. He's extremely knowledgeble at fixing both Macs and Pc's. I have been a PC all my life and he has always been around to fix my PC. Recently, I changed to a Macbook Pro and when I had some difficulties, he knew exactly what to do to fix it. All I can say is wow! I took in an ancient computer that died. It was determined the hard drive was fine but the screen died. I then brought in a newer computer that needed to be regressed for Windows 10 to Windows 7 and then set up as a single purpose machine to use with special testing equipment. The job was done and the newer computer is doing its job perfectly. This work was all done in an amazingly short time and the service and support were excellent. UPDATE After posting my negative review of this place I received a threatening text basically telling me to shut up. This was my first review on Yelp and I did so because I felt other consumers should be warned, which is the point of Yelp. I think as a consumer you can look at the reviews and decide yourself. On my web page next to the 'stars" there is a button "Details". Click it and it will take you to a summary. (I just found it). It gives you a graph and below that it breaks down the reviews. Note there are 8 five stars and 6 one stars. Only two more positives than negative and if you read these many are actually give the shop 0-stars because it was so bad. Also remember that a business can "stuff" the ratings by having friends and family post fake ratings and using different email addresses to post fake ratings. So don't do what I did and glance over the ratings over your phone. Actually review the ratings and use your own judgement and decide if the place is trust worthy. When a business gets so many very negative ratings, well that is up to you. Of note, in looking for someone to complete the project I called 3 different computer shops (each without having the tone of negative reviews). I ask the same question I ask this owner and the people I talked to seem to know what I was asking for and simply said that they did not have the experience to do the job - integrity! NO STARS Notice the reviews are either "NO STAR" or "5 STAR" Think "5-Star" always perfect is not faked !!!! I have worked with computers for more than 35 years and currently run an IT help desk for a local company. So I'm not the typical uninformed user. I rarely write reviews. If I receive exceptional service I will occasionally take the time to write a positive review and I have written less than a hand full of severely negative reviews, only when it seems to really warrant it. I went into the "Computer Spirit" to commission a water cooled computer build. I ask the owner if he had built water cooled systems, he answered "Yes". To be fair, on this initial inquiry I did not explicitly state that it was an open system as opposed to a closed system. I brought in the basic build hardware (around mid Sep). The water component would need to be ordered. I gave him a printout of the external water pump with picture, model and location to buy. I told him to use the pump and build from it. If there had been any question, this should have been clarification that this was an open system. Even if he had just built one closed system he should have noted that there is no external pump. Again I ask twice if he had built water cooled systems with a "Yes" response and explained that even though I had built air cooled systems this build required estimating tubbing and filings and since I wanted it done correctly I was not really qualified and wanted someone who was. About 2 weeks later I get an email with the water component purchase list. It was drastically short of needed components so I called him. He told me he had spent two hours doing research and only then told me he had no experience with "open" only "closed" systems. Again the pump alone should have alerted him to the "Open System". I really don't think he had a clue until he started researching what water cooling actually was and then discovered the complexity. I called him and he assured me that he could still do it. Since I have no place for an extended build and he had spent hours I left it with him. I know, I should have taken the computer back then. I compiled pages of needed "water cooling parts" with pictures, model numbers and to buy location. It took about 30 min not 2 hours. I had a page for tubing and fittings without specific numbers because that depend on how the tubing was laid out. I took these to him, pointed out the page for the tubing and fittings and pointed out this depended on the design. I gave him a check to pay for the order since it was expensive. This was around Sep 27th. So delay after delay he finally assured me he would have it ready before Nov. 8. This is about a month and a half later! On Nov 6th I get a text that there would be yet another delay because he had not ordered 90 degree fillings. This had gotten to be ridiculously incompetent. The need for at least some of these is pretty obvious, that is if you think like a problem solving technician. I went to the shop and ask why he had not even ordered one such fitting and he got mad and repeatedly told me I could take the computer and owe nothing. He obviously wanted to be out from under a task that was soooo much over his head. So I decided to take the computer which seemed to make him madder. He started piling $4,000 worth of hardware in and outside of my car in the parking lot telling me he wanted it out of his shop. In a day and age where most big box stores are staffed by carefree youth that joke about "nah we don't carry stand offs in the store, either buy them on line and you'll get em within 48 hours OR you can drive all the way to Frys" As in Sorry old man your stuck with us. It was GREAT to happen across Computer Spirit. I'm helping my Nephew put together a new computer and at 5 PM we figured out all we needed were the stands. Pretty crappy way to start a build. 5:30 we hit the 3rd big retailer with NO luck. Not only was I ecstatic to read that they were open till 6 but they were only a mile away. Not only did he have standoffs, he knew what they were, he had PLENTY in stock. Then to top it off he gave us the absolute best price I've ever seen on any computer item. It was like he was giving them away. I know standoffs are a very very low dollar item, but they were crucial for what we planned to get accomplished that night. They had em, he obviously gave us THE BEST deal, FAR below what any other places were charging (Even Amazon). At this point we were willing to pay Radio Shack prices of $3.50 for four of em. NOT at Computer Spirit! Fun likable guy too. I use to drive out to Westlake for similar parts. Now that I found a place a lot closer to home with a guy who actually smiles, they will be our first stop for computer parts from now on. I cracked the screens on my Dell laptop and ipad (don't ask!) and was more than a bit concerned - I spoke to Bryan White (PC Heaven) who has done repair for me before, and he recommended I call Laurance at Computer Spirit. I left him a message after 5, and he returned my call about 8:30PM - attentive customer service. I took my laptop and ipad in, he ordered the parts and both are working great, good as new. A couple of screws fell out of my laptop. I found one but I needed to replace the 2nd. I brought in my laptop and he screwed in my original and gave me a new one at no charge. DON'T DO IT! There are so many better places right around the corner, which I had to find out the hard way. PC Heaven has a ton of positive reviews and they are so professional ... should have gone there first. I have long list of complaints but I will try and be brief. Brought computer in, first I'm told it's a hard drive. That gets replaced. Still problems. Then he tells me it's the power source. That gets replaced. Still problems. Then says it's just the whole computer. Ok. Buy a new computer. Because I was leaving for out of town I left the new computer in the box for the owner Lawrence to transfer my data. When I get it back, it's got all kinds of problems including a constant message that my Windows OS isn't genuine. Return that computer, purchase a new one. Now I still need a new email system. So I try Thunderbird out, which is great, but the owner tells me my emails can't be transferred to this email system I need to buy Outlook since I am transferring from Windows Mail. (Despite that all over the internet is says it is possible.) Ok so now I need to purchase Outlook in order to have my entire email files, folders, contacts etc transferred over. So I purchase Outlook and it takes the owner three days to transfer my email. He tried to charge me for this but I had to remind him this was still part of the data transfer onto the new computer. After I bring it home I realize my contacts weren't transferred! So frustrated, I go back and tell him. He just looks at me and shrugs his shoulders, (something he does a lot,) and says he doesn't want to work on my computer anymore. What?! Says he will send me a refund. Well it's been 2 weeks, no refund. If you know a lot about computers then maybe you can work with someone like this, but if you don't this is THE WORST place to go. He barely speaks to you, doesn't explain anything, shrugs his shoulders a lot and clearly he either has very limited knowledge, or simply doesn't want to spend the time to really fix problems. He's worse than Geek Squad, at least there they can't just refuse to finish the work because they don't feel like it or are too lazy to. Lawrence is so rude and condescending, uncommunicative and has no customer service skills. And let's not forget he lied about my refund. You have been warned.
