This is a dealership I truly wanted to like. Instead, I found them to be old school, and not in a good way. Deceptive sales tactics, complete lack of any ethical or moral compass and little shame when called out. I negotiated a price over the phone for a car. Followed it up with an email exchange agreeing on the price. To put down a deposit, I drove two hours to the dealership. When I got there and looked at the car, the salesman said "I have to tell you, we have another interested party and if you want the car you're going to have to come up another $1k. I shook his hand and walked away. A week or two later I noticed the car was still available a decided (against my better judgment to up my offer a few hundred dollars and they agreed. They took a $2k deposit and that evening the car said "sold" on their website with our agreed price reflected on the website. I was paying cash but they needed a credit check as a formality, yah ok whatever. Opened up the pdf and they adjusted the price by $1k up, and I couldn't believe it. So I spoke to Derek Able because I was livid and he apologized for any misunderstanding but said sorry, we just sold the car. Technically we had a deal, an agreed upon price and verbal contract. The car was mine. Nope they sold it out from under me. Absolute scum bags. This behavior and deceptive practices are what gives "the dealer experience" everyone hates. I have all the documentation to prove this but suing isn't my thing but warning other certainly is. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

John quoted me a price hundreds less than any bay area dealer that I called, so after reading other reviews I decided to drive an hour a 1/2 to try them out. Very happy I did! I worked with Rich - the Director of parts and sales. When I got there, there was a line of vettes outside of the install bay. I knew I went to the right place. Rich was over the top knowledgeable, and his pricing was fair. Everything went smoothly on such a big job and I was back on the road. After this, I had an unrelated problem. My truck had been leaking water inside the doors with all the recent rain. Still under warranty so I decided to bring it here. John Fleming was unwilling to see this as an issue and said it was a normal thing for water to leak inside a door and pool up. I asked him if it's normal to drive around with water in your door and he was unwilling to face my questions head on. He instead said that there was no issue. I asked him to document the findings (he told me over the phone he observed water in the door) however was unwilling to document this and when the service report was provided. This is a review about their service department, but just from sitting in the waiting lounge, I can tell their sales dept looks just as good. Quick story: Own a 2017 Camaro SS 1LE have had a major problem over the last 6-8months that caused the car to turn off ABS, traction control, stability, etc all off at once under braking or fast corners and would say "Service Stabilitrak". took it to Fremont Chevrolet and they were running in circles trying to figure out what was wrong. This resulted in 5 visits 5 different repairs with no success. Frustrated with the result, and on the brink of getting an attorney to help with claiming it as a lemon, a friend said to give Abel Chevrolet a shot before following through. So I did... I drove all the way from Fremont to Rio Vista hopeful, and wow what a night and day difference in service I received when I got there. My service advisor was Will and he had a loaner car ready for me when I got there, Will asked to recreate the problem, I did, and they went to work. Will kept me updated on what they were doing and what the mechanics were testing, trying, etc. A week and a half of them diagnosing my car, they ended up fixing my Camaro's issue on its very first visit. (Fremonts visits were 1.5-2weeks each as well). Needless to say I'll make the trip out here again. They clearly know what they're doing because if you take a look into their garage, there's a lot of corvettes in the shop (they have a good reputation on the forum) and the employees at Abel also track their car. Needless to say look no further than getting your GM car serviced at Abel for any maintenance/problem you need fixed. UPDATE: Had just as good of a experience taking the girlfriend's ATS-V in for a recall. Donnell helped me and had it done while waiting in the lounge + got a track alignment done while they were at it. I'll be back for any other maintenance or issues that's for sure. read more

This dealership is the bees knees! I needed work done on my car and the timing of it all just wasn't working out. I needed a place where I'd be able to work and Rio Vista isn't exactly easily accessible when asking for a ride home while you leave your car for a few days. They offered to pick my car up! Yes! I said that, they offered to pick it up! Both drivers were very kind and courteous and I felt comfortable with them driving my car such a long distance. It's the first time a dealership has ever offered to do such a thing! The driver on the way back was even really honest with me when he told me the tire pressure sensor came on on his ride back. An ongoing issue that had nothing to do with him, but I appreciated the honest gesture for sure! Now, to the work. I was kept in the loop by Don, one of the Service Techs the entire time. He called to ask about a few issues, clarify them, formulate a plan going forward and arrange to get the car back for follow up service. Very impressive. I was a little skeptical when I saw most of the reviews for this dealership were for Corvettes (I don't have a Corvette), but also impressed because customers drive from long distances to use Abel and I totally understand why. Can't get any better than Abel. Both on the Service and Sales sides. Abel has been servicing my 2017 Corvette for about 9 months now. While most folks don't drive these cars that much, I do, so the service part of ownership is critical to me. I've got 20k miles already so I've seen them quite a few times with oil changes and one warranty issue. I couldn't have been happier with how they handled my warranty repair. It was a difficult to trace down issue, they didn't give up, and went back and forth with Chevrolet to get it fixed right. On the sales side I've had equally good experiences. On my first trip to the dealer I was asking some questions about how the manual transmission was in the current corvette as I had test driven one at a different dealership and it had some issues. The GM overheard me and insisted I drive one of theirs, I declined, but he insisted, pulled it out of the showroom, and even drove it around the block to make sure it was warmed up. I recently shopped with my Wife with a car to replace hers recently and had a great experience as well. Not pushy, up front about price discussions, and easy to work with. The only bad thing about Abel is it spoils you if you have to go to any other dealer. read more

First and foremost I would like to thank Anthony wong at abel Chevrolet for being a great salesman who didn't do us wrong and provided by far the best car buying experience I have ever gotten. Had been in the market for a 3rd row suv cause my family outgrew our other suv. Found a traverse online and went and checked it out. Beautiful car and extremely clean and well maintained. Anthony helped us with the best offer would have ever gotten and stayed after hours to help get paperwork done. Fast forward 3 months later and check engine light came on, scheduled an appointment to get it serviced (we live an hour and half away and rio vista is a beautiful river town) showed a half hour late due to traffic and they squeezed us in. Anthony was there to greet us and instead of sit there and wait in the lobby, gave us keys to a beautiful Tahoe and said drive around and find something to do so the kids aren't bored. They fixed the problem very fast (evap solenoid valve went bad) and called and said take your time if needed but we had already eaten and finished up so we headed back and john (service department) had showed me exactly what was wrong and made sure my warranty would cover before any work was done.
