This place is in a shopping center with several other things and I've always wanted to stop in. This place was great! The food is really good and a pretty large menu. The fries were so good! I also had the chicken tenders, pork rinds, lumpia, and cat fish. ALL of it was good. They have a large beer selection and they have wine too. The staff were all really friendly and hard working. This place could be so much more. A bit disappointing in the location. In the parking lot is the outside seating. I know Covid created this new experience but I was not impressed at all. Dogs are allowed outside since food is served on the premises. The food is tasty but very salty. We had the chicken Caesar wrap and Onion Rings. Large portions so I suggest sharing. Beer choices are great and from all over the local area. They also have wines so for tap house that's a huge plus. read more

My first visit here and man oh man did I love this place. I'm always driving by but never stopped by because I didn't know they had a variety of food on the menu. The first thing I noticed about this place is the outdoor seating the closer I got I realized they had indoor seating but with the rollup door open so you can get that nice warm or cool breeze blowing on you while enjoying a beer. The place is really clean inside and has lots of seating areas both at the bar and tables. They have a few people working so it wasn't like you had to wait but the again I went during the day on a Sunday. They have a large amount of different types of beers from wheat to ales, etc. The bear I had was one of the blondes the guy suggested and I kid you not only half way drinking it I was pretty buzzed lol. I ordered the chicken appetizer which is huge it came with lumpia, egg rolls, wings, tater tots and these other things that had corn inside like a tater tot. Thinking maybe I should order the sliders since they were highly rated, lol I had so much food and all of it was good. Excellent beer selection, including local brews from our favorite Concord brewery, Epidemic Ales. Our first visit was shortly before COVID hit and we enjoyed the beer and snacks. Fast forward to this weekend and a long awaited return... This trip was post-5 mile walk on the Canal Trail, to meet up with friends. Highlights from our lunch include: *Beers- See note about excellent selection above. *Lumpia- These are tasty bites, even better with the accompanying soy vinaigrette and sweet chili sauce for dipping. *Wings- I don't love wings although my friends do and they thoroughly enjoyed the cowboy wings (spicy BBQ), although also agreed to try buffalo next time. *Chef Rusty's Chipotle BLT- This was a special and I'm not surprised it sold out in 1.5 days and I'm glad we snuck in our lunch at exactly the right time. The BLT was stuffed with crispy applewood smoked bacon, romaine, tomato, and chipotle mayo on parmesan crusted toast. I swapped the tots for a side midtown greens salad and brought half the sandwich home. It was equally delicious for brunch the next day. We left with 100% certainty that we will be returning for more post-hike beer and eats sooner rather than later. read more

This tap house is located in a strip mall with ample parking. The beer selection is big, but not overwhelming. We didn't order food, but it looked pretty tasty. Our bartender was prompt and sweet, but we did arrive at a very slow time. It was a pretty good experience. read more

The Great George F was kind to include me at a small over the tunnel Yelp event. I had heard a bit about the store from Amanda M, who raved about the lumpia. Sho'nuf they are tasty. The fried chicken wings were delicious too. I was skeptical about the shrimp tempura, however not bad at all. The entire staff are courteous and very friendly. Spotless restrooms are always a positive sign. I don't venture to Concord very often, but if you are a local, it's definitely worth stopping in. read more

Hubbers and I found ourselves around this area for a couple of errands and decided to have a late lunch/early happy hour somewhere. Since we aren't from anywhere near here, Yelp once again came to the rescue. Situated within a (bigger than what I'm used to) strip mall, you won't miss it once you drive in. It's right dab smack in the center of everything else. Since it was an almost mid-afternoon Saturday, we had no trouble finding a table. Outdoor seating was also available, but we opted getting seated inside to watch some sport events. They have decent selection for grub and brew. We were given the menus immediately. While going through it, I started with a pint of #15 (Shadow puppet thin blueberry line) and Hubbers went for #4 (Sixpoint dabble double IPA.) Hubbers got an order of Tots n Dots and fried chicken sliders with grilled zucchini. I went for the catfish sliders with tots. Everything was made to order (and that's always a plus.) Tots n Dots came through first with a side of mustard. I gotta say it's been awhile since I've had tater tots and found myself reminiscing about my middle school days when I snacked on these all day. I felt it needed a bit of seasoning but nothing salt and pepper (provided on our table) couldn't fix. I skipped the "Dots" part since I'm not really a fan of corn. Hubbers enjoyed those, though. Catfish sliders were DELISH. They did not skimp on the amount of fish and was seasoned fantastic. I got to try Hubbers' chicken slider and that was delightful as well. I'm not that big of a fan of grilled veggies, but the zucchini was really good. I would highly recommend all of these. FOOD: 5. SERVICE: 3. Servers were hard to catch. I preferred ketchup over mustard for my tots and trying to catch our server's attention was a bit difficult. Bartender overheard us and gave it to us immediately. He did say, "Just shout out if you need anything." (We were seated mid-section across the bar, so we lucked out on that. I can only imagine the outcome if we were seated on a corner somewhere.) VALUE: 3. PARKING: In a strip mall. TONS available. OVERALL: 3.5. It's a pretty kickback place. It's one of those spots you'd wanna stop at for a brew before going home. I've been here enough times I feel like I can give an honest, thoughtful review. I've had the two star experience, but more than not the five star experience. I'm going to ignore all experiences before the fire. They reopened the day after Christmas. Plenty of tables and bar space. Inside is modern with exposed brick and beams. Staff- it's getting soooo much better! They are super friendly and I feel like they are trying. Knowledgeable about the beers and wine. They are just slow. So come in knowing that and you will have a great time. The owners are often in there and the woman ( don't know her name yet) is very friendly. She jumps up and helps her staff when needed. Food- yumm!! I often come just for the lumpia and no drinks. Also- beware the fries/tots have a cinnamon flavor to them. We ordered fries and they were coated with cinnamon and sugar. We addressed it and the chef came out with a new batch which tasted nothing like our first basket. I'm hoping the seasoning just wasn't mixed, however serve those things with some icing dip and boom- dessert!! They have specials on the weekends which are always different. They recently had a huge bbq smoker and let me tell you- that chicken took me back to Kentucky. So juicy. Bathroom is clean, so you know the kitchen is. Walking distance for a lot of Concord locals, easily a quick drive. Feels very calm and secluded from the downtown area, but still full of action and fun. Cool place to explore some great beers on tap. Great vibe and friendly service. A little small on the inside but they have a great patio out front to enjoy outdoors. Honestly, the pub style food choices are not great. At least, I've not tried anything worth the $$$ yet! However, their location is near some other great food. Pretty cool place to hang out for awhile. The garage door style open front makes it feel bigger than it is. They ran out of the Care Bear beer I wanted but let me have the last half glass available. The sausage is solid, you can get it on a bun or served in slices. They burned the bun but I like it that way. I wanted a glass of Viognier and the server had no clue what that was, even though we told her it was spelled like: Viog-nier and explained that it was one of the wines in the white flight. They are still kind of new though, so hopefully that will get worked out with time. It seemed like anything but the # of a beer threw her off. I ended up having to get a menu and pointed out to her what I wanted. The fries are thin and fried to a golden crisp. The house mustard is amazing. They have a big deck out front and space gets to be a premium, so get there early if you are larger than a group of 2 or 3. It's a bit on the pricey side but the quality warrants that. read more

Outside of Taqueria Carnitas, I have rarely had reason to visit this lonesome strip of strip mall along Clayton Rd. Sure, there's the high school-era nostalgia of shopping at Goodwill (before hipsters made it cool) or pausing to remember the crappy Mongolian BBQ (RIP Genghis Khan's https://www.yelp.com/biz/genghis-khan-restaurant-concord). No, I mostly steer clear of this area unless I want a chile relleno or to unload a box of used clothes. Now, I have Concord Tap to lure me in with beer and smoked drumsticks. Both the interior and exterior begs for a nicer part of Concord, but I think they'll do just fine as they are. The draft list is well thought out, and there's something for everyone. They've only just opened up, so I anticipate that their food menu will normalize over the long run. If you're lucky enough to be there for the crazy-cheap BBQ, though, bon appetit! I was particularly a fan of their Cream Ale on Nitro ($8). Go enjoy a couple beers outside while the summer and fall nights are warm. The appetizers were amazing. #1 Fav-Chili lime wings, BBQ Samosas, Tritip quesadilla and those sidewinder bacon fries w/ beer cheese. The Tritip sandwich could have been better: Tritip tasty, but the bread was not fresh, stale chewy texture. It would have been better if the bread was toasted. We ate the meat and left the bread. Service was great. From the girl that came to our seats to the guy behind the bar all was good. Even came to me before the kitchen closed and sold me on more food. The manager on duty never left the back table with his friends and never had his mask on. He even questioned my server on if she checked with the kitchen before she sold her our food (which she already did). Our server was spot on but the manager was definitely not with what was going on. I'm so thankful for another tap house that's close by and not in the heart of downtown. The vibe here is great and you feel like you're in a different part of town with the way they've set it all up. I love their big door so you can get the outside feel while being inside. You can also sit outside on their patio if you'd like. The patio is cute but it is in the parking lot, so until it's night time and more slow in that lot it's a bit odd to be out there. The prices were decent and very standard for Concord tap houses. The staff was friendly and helpful with it being our first time there. They've got a good mixture of different beer, wine, and ciders. Their bites are decently priced and yummy too! We got a small tater tots and yum yum it was! You've got to visit this place! I'm excited to see what else they'll do. They are still really new and I can feel the sense of greatness. read more

Awesome local spot! All their original food was very heavy on fried foods (our faves were the Dots - Fried corn fritter balls!!) but as of recently there have been lots of BBQ and food specials. I have ordered full racks of beef ribs and pork ribs now along with WAY too much canned beer to go (due to COVID) but I'm always happy to support a local business! Follow them on instagram for food specials and updates! Their online ordering (for cans, food, etc.) is really good as well. Plenty of parking. Been here on a Friday evening. Nice bar and restaurant in Concord on Clayton Rd. We ordered a beer, a hard cider, a soft pretzel with beer cheese, a Hawaiian burger, and portabello mushroom wrap. The beer we ordered was Del Cielo Borracho y Loco Hazy. This was a double IPA from Del Cielo Brewing Co. from Martinez. It was an excellent IPA. I loved the flavor: it had some nice sweetness after its bitter component. The hard cider we had was a guava cider from ACE Cider from Sebastopol. It had a nice flavor and color. Loved its sweetness. The soft pretzel we had was nice; it was soft and hot. It was served with salt, grainy mustard, and beer cheese. The beer cheese was nice. It had a nice bitter flavor and cheese was just gooey. The grainy mustard was good, adding a nice tart flavor to the pretzel. The Hawaiian burger was good as well. It had a grilled pineapple and had teriyaki sauce. The pepperjack cheese was excellent to pair the meat patty with. The combo of salty and sweet was abundant in this burger. The buns held the burger very well. The burger was served with fries. I definitely loved the way how they cut the fries, it was pretty unique. The fries tasted very good on its own, but also with ketchup and even with the grainy mustard and beer cheese from the soft pretzel. The portabello mushroom wrap was absolutely delicious. The mushrooms were very flavorful and meaty. They were the star of the wrap. I opted for Swiss cheese on my wrap. It added another creamy texture to the wrap. The vegetables: grilled zucchini, field greens, grilled onions and pepperocinis played a crucial role in the sandwich in texture and flavor. It paired well with the savory mushrooms. Loved the herb aioli in the wrap. It help tone down the acidity of the pepperocinis. A very enjoyable vegetarian sandwich wrap. I only regretted not taking a better picture of the wrap to showcase the wonderful ingredients inside the tortilla wrap. Overall, pleasant experience at this spot in the Clayton Rd. plaza area. Lately, there have been more and more tap houses and breweries popping up on this side of the tunnel, and Concord Tap House is one of them. Had it not been for Emma W.'s impromptu gathering at this spot, I wouldn't have thought to look for it in a nondescript strip mall on Clayton Road. It's a small tap room, meaning there is a bar with beers on tap, several communal high top tables at which to sit, tv, and music playing. They serve craft beer selections from local favorites like Epidemic Ales (Concord), Mare Island Brewing Co.​ (Vallejo), and Gilman Brewing (Berkeley) -- 24 choices in total! If you're not a beer drinker, they also have wine from California, Oregon, Washington, Italy, and Spain. You can choose a red or white wine flight if you want a variety. Their menu consists of traditional bar food -- appetizers, fries, and sliders, plus they have sandwiches and salad. I tried their Tater Tots, which I couldn't get enough of! Who doesn't love Tater Tots?! They were crispy and came with their signature Boss sauce. The Grilled Chicken Wrap in a Spinach Tortilla was tasty as well, but a bit too spicy for me. The Catfish Sliders were pretty good and a nice alternative to the usual sliders made of beef or chicken. Service was great; the owner prepped and served the food. I'm now a fan of Concord Tap House... Talk about deep fried goodness! I tried several items off of their appetizer menu including: corn and cheese fritters, chicken wings with many dipping sauces, tater tots, cheese fries, and grilled zucchini. Although all tasted great, the corn and cheese fritters wowed me the most. Probably my new favorite thing! Perfectly crunch, a great sweetness inside. So bad for you, but so damn good. I washed this all down with their 2 Towns Strawberry Cider. I highly recommend ordering this drink! It's definitely on the sour side, but I enjoyed it. They have other great foods on the menu that I hope to come back to try like LUMPIA and shrimp tempura. Pretty great spot to chill at after work hours! Or a nice summer day. read more

Can in for a yelp community event. I had so much fun. I met some amazing new people. I got to try one of the beers and lots of their bites to eat. I really enjoy beer. Why they lost their first star was due to the bartender not being knowledged on the different beers on tap. They also server mine in a cider glass instead of a mug which was a little strange. I got the barrelhouse Loki Nordic hazy ipa. This was actually a really great beer. I really enjoyed it. If you don't like hazy beer you won't like this one. The other reason a star was lost was because all the bites were fried. I wish they had some healthy options as well to snack on. The one item that I guess is a bit more nutritious is the grilled squash. And wow oh wow was that oh so delicious. The chicken wings were also to die for. Overall I still had a great time and I will definitely be back again. read more

So nice to see a vibrant establishment in this space. The plaza where CTH is located has always been a bit dull with lackluster businesses (with the exception of the breakfast spot a few doors down-great food). I think the boring atmosphere has changed with the arrival of CTH. If beer on tap is your thing, then this is your place. Offering 24 beers on tap, there is something to suit all flavor palettes. I'm not even a big beer drinker, but the the beer I had was quite good. Being the novice I chose a beer strictly based on the name. It had milkshake in the name so it was a go for me. It was light in flavor, with the slightest hint of sweetness and was somewhat creamy...yes creamy. The staff was super friendly & the owner introduced himself and reminisced on how he came up with his famous "boss sauce" that is served with many of the items on the menu. The light bites served are a perfect accompaniment to the beers on tap. The Dots n' Tots are a must try as well as the catfish sliders. Think of the best part of the corn dog; the batter of course. Then add corn kernels and fry in to bite size fritters and you have Dots! read more

It was a hot summer night and time for another visit to Concord Tap House. Surprised to find when we arrived that they were hosting a special celebration for their first anniversary. Service was a little quicker than on our previous visit. Can't get a beer and cider quick enough! DH opted for the Fort Point Westfalia, an American Amber Ale from San Francisco's Fort Point Beer Company. I sampled it, too. And while decent, it was not quite as good as my "go-to" favorite, Boont Amber Ale. When in doubt, I always choose a pear cider which I find light and drinkable on a hot day. They had a special Bites menu for the anniversary, so DH had to choose something other than the pulled pork sliders. He had the cheeseburger and noted afterwards he should have asked to "hold the mustard and mayo." Fortunately, a light hand was used with both. While I have been known to add mustard to a burger, it seems a bit odd. (And after living most of our adult lives in California, DH and I still can't understand why anyone adds mayo to a burger.) My Midtown Sliders (3 grilled beef sliders) made for a perfect light supper. We both chose tater tots as our side. Perhaps not a healthy choice, but hey it was a very hot night. We especially enjoyed chatting with Keith, one of the owners of Concord Tap House. We were able to congratulate him on the success of the venture. We heard why the Concord Tap House is being promoted as being in Midtown Concord. We also learned more about the eclectic menu ... where else are you going to find both catfish sliders and lumpia on the menu? Makes sense now. Just ask Keith when you visit. Lovely little tap room in an old Concord shopping center. Concord Tap House has a lot on tap! I especially loved the variety they offered. Often a lot of places are heavy on the IPAs, but they had a great range from lagers and ales to stouts and sours. I ended up sharing the catfish sliders (comes with 3). The catfish chunks are lightly fried and topped with pepper jack, lettuce and pickles. Comes with a side of fries but I wanted a full order of dots instead. Maannn let me tell you.. the dots are delicious! They're little creamy corn fritters that are crispy on the outside with sweet ooey-gooey corn goodness on inside.
