If you really love tacos this place sucks. I ordered a traditional taco -too salty. I created my own taco (steak, cilantro and onion) and it was underwhelming. I requested a basic corn tortilla & they didn't even warm it up! So as I ate it, it broke. How do you not warm up the tortilla? And why don't you offer corn tortillas?? --so bizarre. My boyfriend ordered some already built tacos... and they tasted like the decor, all over the place. The flavor was everywhere. So much sauce; it just dripped all over the place. I was very hesitant to go to Condado after having poor service a couple of times at the Broad Ripple location. Our server, Megan, was really great. She knew what all the rotating taps were on draft and even brought me a sample of something I wasn't quite sure about. She also didn't hesitate to answer questions about pricing despite the prices being on the menu which I failed to see. The tacos were really good. Except the doritos shell firecracker taco. That one was a little too weird for me. I would have liked to see the Doordash people wearing a mask. Well... food is usually good but I'm not sure why when you order carry out of 2 tacos and they text you letting you know it's ready for pickup 20 mins later, so you walk/drive over to pick it up... and the 2 tacos are no where to be found. I've been here a few times now, and I love it. First time here I went by myself before a show at the Murat, which is just a little further down Mass Ave. Sat at the bar, service was great. One of the bartenders made a little too much of their pineapple margarita and gave it to me pro bono - it was AWESOME! As far as their tacos... I'm all about that Lucy shell. No matter which taco - get the Lucy shell (hard shell inside, soft shell outside). Another perk of this place is that they are open late. Food is about 3.5. Atmosphere is 5 stars. I love the tacos. They can be quite heavy but they are fun and tasty. My issue with the food are the chips and guacamole. For a taco joint it's hard to get over bad chips and guacamole. The chips are really heavily fried and the guac is blended. I never turn down a chip or guac and I couldn't finish this. I am updating my review bc I actually dined in. We were seated pretty fast for a Friday. The staff does not have uniforms so you do not know who works there. Our waiter seemed rushed. I couldn't decide on my order. When I did decide on our appetizers I told the guy that brought our drinks but since he wasn't our waiter it was awkward. The atmosphere is cool. I like the decor but it is loud in there. Our food came fast. It was good but I did not like the Habanero Honey sauce. Our server came back and basically just assumed we were were done. Did not offer more drinks or anything. He did offer more chips once he saw I had one in my hand. Also I hate this new trend of running your card and waiting while you fill it out. Please server step away and do not wait for us to fill in the tip. We were getting a cash tip together and I just wanted to crawl in my purse. Condado tacos would have been perfect on Butler campus or Ball State's Campus but Mass Ave... maybe it will work for the late night bar scene? Regular Mass Ave lunch or dinner fans, you may want to pass. The menu offers some great creative vegan/vegetarian options for tacos but be prepared for anything that you order to come out luke warm. We were there at 4:30 (btw there is a happy hour special between 4-6 on M-Th) and there was maybe 4 other tables? Our food came out SUPER fast but you can definitely tell the food was prepped and cooked hours prior. So be careful ordering the surf and turf taco. You will be questioning if you should eat their tiny thawed shrimp that they threw in with some overcooked steak strips. Loved the venue liked the food. We ordered the "Queso of the month" (Mushroom Truffle). Nice size portion for two people to share however it was way too runny and needed some heat. It was very bland. A teaspoon of fresh chopped jalapeños would have done the trick. We went with the suggested selection of tacos rather than build our own. The Surf-n-Turf was very good! Tequila lime steak with ceviche shrimp. The pickled jalapeño salsa had a nice kick to it! The Bubba Kush taco was too bland. The pulled pork had no flavor. The murals inside the restaurant were fun and colorful. Definitely worth stopping in. My only wish was that you could have a soft corn tortilla as an alternative to the soft flour or hard taco. Best. Taco. Ever. I went to Condado on a Tuesday evening around 7 and it was packed. Luckily there were a few spots open at the bar, because all I wanted was a quick taco and a drink before another appointment I had down the street. I ventured to Condado again, this time with friends, and the service was perfect again. We all loved being able to make our own tacos using their checklist menu. Please know that they have house margaritas ON TAP for a reason... they are delicious! Try one of the special flavored margss if you're feeling wild and you won't be disappointed by them either. One of my favorite features of this restaurant is the art. I could spend an obscene amount of time staring at each wall, as they are all done by different artists and are completely covered from floor to ceiling. Build your own tacos?? The food was good, and there are lots of options to choose from either with a "taco of the month" or a build your own. I got a tequila lime steak taco (juju style) which was TO DIE FOR. I also got a shrimp ceviche bowl, which while delicious, I was disappointed. The bowls are a great size and priced at $7.50, but some proteins are increased price (cool. Understandable). But $2 for four baby shrimps (think size of popcorn shrimp)? Definitely won't order that again. We ordered a 3 bowl sampler with guacamole (so good), dirty queso (amazing) and corn salsa (wonderful). The chips were stale, but you almost didn't notice with the remarkable flavors going on in the dips. Do yourself a favor and get the chimichuri on everything. You won't be disappointed! Worst experience I've had living 1 year downtown Indianapolis. Showed up with a group of 8. Plenty of tables around that could combine to make 8 and a table that actually sat 8. Waitress did not put our name down- thought asking to wait at the bar meant we didn't want seats. Another 15 minutes later after realizing no seat we were seated but with no hostess. We had never been to the restaurant before and assumed what needed to happen by checking off boxes on the fill out sheets. I had to complain to the hostess after no one came to our table after another 15 minutes. A server came by and took our sheets but did not introduce themselves, didn't mention any specials, and did not ask if we'd like any drinks or appetizers. Still waiting for my food. Horrified this terrible establishment has opened up near my home. Awful. Do not rely on this restaurant for large parties or honestly any party. I will give 1 star until proven otherwise. read more

Talk about variety! A gazillon options are available for these tacos. The hard corn shells are crunchy and light. I tried three separate proteins: roasted chicken, Tex Mex ground beef and chorizo. The chicken was moist, the beef was good and the chorizo was mildly spiced with a hint of cinnamon. I thought Lex my server was very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. We had eaten at the Broad Ripple location, so when we were hungry and on Mass Ave, this seemed like a no brainer. Unfortunately, it wasn't the greatest experience. Let me just say, the food was still great. The kitchen would have to try pretty hard to screw up Condado's taco system. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the delicious tacos we ate. The location itself, on the other hand, was pretty unpleasant. The construction of the building created a situation where the voices of the people echo quite loudly and create an atmosphere that's very similar to a dog pound where every dog is barking wildly. It's practically deafening. The service was also less than stellar. I wouldn't say it was bad...but we did have a difficult time getting drink refills and had to leave without a to-go container for our leftover salsa. Two different people said they would bring one but nobody ever did... (That pineapple salsa would have been great with some spicy eggs the next morning) All in all, given a choice I would go to the Broad Ripple location instead of Mass Ave. read more

Update** my boyfriend & I just came and got tacos and nachos. Jennifer J. was our waitress. Our service was so bad that I thought it was a joke. I had to ask for our drinks after waiting 15 mins for them. I get the servers forget things but when I asked for a different beverage bc my lemonade was too tart she just looked at me without even saying anything and just walked away. I had to look at my boyfriend to see if I was tripping and he said I wasn't. Her whole demeanor was rude. If this was not a place that I frequented I totally wouldn't return. Our bill came out and we were over charged for things that we never ordered. My boyfriend asked her about the items that we didn't order and again she gave the same blank stare and walked off. She came back with the slips that we ordered our food with and aggressively was saying you ordered this and this etc. and then realized we were right and didn't apologize. Maybe she was having a bad day but in the world of service you treat your customers with respect especially when they're respecting you! YUM! I went Condado's "soft" opening yesterday. It was a way for the staff to get experience and for Indy locals to try out their food. The dirty queso is a MUST HAVE! I also did two "make your own" tacos, which were delicious. Many people in my group ordered from the pre-made taco options and loved those as well! Our service was great and the place has such a lively and fun environment. It's a must try!! We were unable to try their margs, but my friends are already planning on going back on Thursday for their grand opening to try some! This was my first visit to any Condado Tacos location and I enjoyed myself. I did the create your own taco option and had one chicken taco and one bbq jackfruit. I really appreciated the large number of gluten and dairy free options. My strictly vegetarian and vegan friends also had a ton of options- that's a a major win in my in my book and the reason this is a four star review and not a 3. Three main complaints: 1. From where we were seated in the bar area, we could see directly into the men's bathroom and could see at the urinal. 2. It's LOUD. They really could use acoustic work to make having conversations a bit more manageable. 3. The house margarita was just mediocre. It was only $5 for happy hour, but it certainly didn't taste fresh. The good: the guacamole and queso are both delicious and the chips are house made. Def get one or both on your visit. The okay: they have a margarita special during the week but the drinks aren't strong. I believe it's premade . If you're a tequila person, they have a ton of variations of tequila to try. First of all, if you go to a Mexican restaurant and the chips and salsa aren't free, that's a red flag. Also, the way you order the tacos are a pain in the butt and not convenient at all. As far as the food. It was very meh. One of my tacos were good, however the steak was in large pieces that I had trouble biting through, causing the steak to pull out of the taco and destroy it in the process. My girlfriend got the hot salsa on two of her tacos. Unfortunately the sheet with the premade tacos didn't highlight or give any indication of it being spicy, so she couldn't really eat one of them. Unfortunately the experience wasn't what I was expecting and the rating suffered due to 2 things: I expect a taco place to be quick. It took about 45 minutes for our order to be placed on the table from the time it was placed. I expect tacos to be at least warm. It tasted like our were sitting around somewhere. Good news though, the concept is cool and the food is unique enough! Killer margs as well. If they can speed up the service, and figure out how to replace some of their weaker employees this could be a successful addition to mass ave. Update to the above, we went back, and the service was much better! Guacamole in 5 minutes, margs within 10, tacos in 15 minutes.
