I was able to make it to their soft opening. Super cute place, the aesthetics are nice. It used to be the old Se7en restaurant, if you're familiar. Covered parking garage. Not really sure of the rates, I've gone in and out for free and other times I've gone in and out and paid $5 or $7, etc. They do have valet, but I've never used them to know the cost. Food is good, although I've only had the salmon. I've had it enough times to confirm that it is consistently good. The drinks were great. The first time I went, I chose a drink on the menu. I usually go for an espresso martini, but the one on the menu had Bailey's which I don't prefer in my drink. I asked the waiter and he told me that the espresso martini came already mixed like that and they couldn't remove it. That right there is the reason why I like to sit at the bar. Let me ask the bartender LOL So of course, the next time I visited, I sat at the bar. It was a weird experience. Reservations are highly recommended here. I made one but asked if I could sit at the bar with the reservation. The hostess walks me to the bar and as we are grabbing a seat, someone just came up and took the other. Mind you, there are only two seats left at the bar. There was a back and forth a little bit with the hostess and the other party, but the thing that saved us was that we made a reservation and the other people didn't. That's why I say make a reservation. First thing I ordered at the bar was an espresso martini. Guess what? They can do it without Bailey's. Came another time, I live nearby lol don't judge! This time was just more of a pop-up on a Friday night. Realized that you can't even see the bar from the hostess stand. There were quite a few people waiting for tables in the lobby. I asked the hostess if they had any open seating at the bar. She disappeared for a little bit to check and then came back and told me that there was not. All good, we'll try again another time or make reservations. No biggie. The owner did his thing when he hired staff for his hostess table. They are amazing and super accommodative. Came again for the bar with no reservations on a Saturday night and asked the hostess the same thing, for a seat at the bar. She goes and checks and comes back and lets me know that there is space available. Easy enough. The next thing I know, a whole group of people are coming and just standing around the bar ordering drinks and hanging out. That let me know that I may not even have to check in with the hostess to go to the bar? I don't even know. If you find out please let me know. For the most part, it's cool for a dining experience. I'm more of a sit at the bar type of person unless I'm celebrating something special, which was the case of my first time coming. As a quick in and out, sit at the bar vibe, I don't recommend them. It's too much of a struggle for me to just come in and have a seat at the bar. I exchanged information with a bartender my second time going. I hit her up for my third visit and she told me she had quit! I would definitely try again, but I won't go out of my way if I don't have reservations. They do hookah on their outside patio, and I believe they have a separate room that offers it as well. The prices were a bit higher than I normally pay for hookah but it was smooth. They no longer offer the lipstick hookah. I know they have like a spaceman one or something like that and it's over a hundred bucks. Maybe close to $200, but don't quote me because I don't remember. They have a standard sleek hookah that's regular price, and it still has an upscale look to it. Definitely go support and try them. I love the look of the place, and the location is perfect for me. However, seating access is not the easiest for me to make it my 'new spot'. They also have been having celebrity sightings there, if you feel like being a groupie ;-) 1 star removed just because it's a hassle to get to the bar, and the server was not knowledgeable about their drinks. Visited Confessions while in town for the Cowboy Carter Tour with my best friend. She made the reservation, and we had no idea this was more of a party style restaurant. We were expecting a low-key dinner. When we arrived, it felt more like a club meets dinner spot, but we decided to roll with it. Despite the surprise, we had a nice time! The blackened salmon I ordered was delicious, and our server was fantastic, very attentive and made sure we were taken care of, especially after we mentioned we weren't expecting the lively vibe. My best friend ordered the fettuccine, which she felt was a bit basic, and the drinks were just okay. Let's go: 1) When we arrived, there was no mention of our anniversary even though it was indicated on the reservation. 2) Based on social media, I expected a glass of champagne upon arrival. That didnt happen either. 3) We sat down in the "VIP" room, but had less than a "VIP" experience. It took the server 25 min to come and take our drink order. After they came, we decided to order appetizers (breaded wings) and they took 40 min to come out. Shortly after, the entrees came which gave us less time to enjoy the appetizer. We had to constantly ask for water refills due to the lack of attention. 4) We decided to order dessert. Tell me why they brought plastic silverware for us to use! Where they do that at? Completely ruined it. The hostess was one of the rudest and most disorganized I've ever dealt with. We asked about seating and whether the VIP table she mentioned had an extra charge, and instead of answering, she kept repeating "This is a restaurant!"--which made zero sense and didn't answer the question. She seemed visibly annoyed that we were even asking, and we were brushed aside with no real guidance on when or if we'd be seated. Once we finally got in, our server was very kind and attentive, but also seemed burnt out or over it; like he was trying his best in a chaotic setup. We also had to wait a long time for the server to show up and I tried to grab someone's attention and when I finally did is we even got served water. The bartender was really good with the drinks. I had the espresso martini which was on happy hour, some lemon drops and the lychee drink.. The worst part about the experience is the PARKING . I have heard and seen on the news where people are getting tickets for parking in this parking garage and they are right. Although yes, you can park on the second level allegedly confessions validates for the first two hours. But the parking people are checking your parking validation regularly so make sure that you select to be texted when it is about to expire and renew it immediately. I received a ticket and so did my friend in the mail for $55. They claim we only paid one time. It was odd to me because if confessions validates the first two hours and we paid for the rest why am I getting a ticket. Also, these people must get hit every day with people calling and complaining about getting a ticket. When I tried to call, it took forever for me to reach someone. And it was very clear that they were annoyed and didn't want to talk. She claimed that the signal was bad and she couldn't hear me she just hung up on me so be prepared that if you're going to challenge this ticket that these people are rude and are not willing to negotiate on it. Also, I don't believe we ever received a text from confessions saying that they were validating for the first two hours so make sure you get some sort of proof that confessions is in fact covering the first two because I believe we were being ticketed for hours that we thought confessions was paying for. I'm not sure how much the valet charges but honestly, it probably makes more sense to just valet if you're gonna be there for a few hours and avoid the whole ticket nonsense altogether. Or they just need to charge a flat rate to park in the parking garage so people don't have to worry about constantly paying for parking every two hours Confessions was a nice vibe. I came in on the 4th day of their soft opening week and of course it was busy! We checked in for a party of 10 without a reservation and waited about 35 minutes to be seated. They had to sit us on the patio outside to accommodate our party. They give champagne to sip on while you wait in the lobby area and they do have some seating while you wait. The restaurant inside has a tropical oasis vibe with velvet, gold and marble. Great color combinations in the decor. Once we were seated, we were greeted immediately by our server. It did not take too long for them to take our orders. They also have a hookah menu as well. (Side bar: they have an insanely priced space bear hookah that is over $100. I can't imagine spending that just for a hookah, don't need to be on that type of wasteful flex.) They opened the patio sliding doors so we could hear the music and still feel like we were a part of the atmosphere. Service was great up until the food actually came.... The food started to come out about 45 minutes after we ordered. They brought it out in the order of who ordered first, but some items were missing from our orders. I was in the bathroom when my food had arrived and apparently they switched my fries with someone else's order. I had ordered the Steakhouse Slider Trio and Truffle fries. They switched my fries with someone else's House fries. When I noticed the error, I immediately let the waiter know and asked for my replacement of the fries I was supposed to have. One friend had ordered wings and Brussels sprouts; she had only received the sprouts and missing her wings. Another friend ordered the salmon dish and was missing her whole meal. The waiter apologized and said he will have it out as soon as possible, and still 30+ minutes later, nothing came! The two of them said forget it and told them to cancel the order. I, however, wanted my fries I ordered to go with my burgers. After 30 minutes, I asked for the manager to make her aware that I still didn't have the fries I ordered. I was told several times over an hour that they were working on it. By that time, my burgers were cold and I was very angry with their slow service on correcting their errors. It does not take an hour for them to cook fries! On top of that, the sliders themselves were not that great. I ate one of them initially before I noticed my fries were incorrect. The meat tasted like a frozen patty. It did not have any flavor or seemed like fresh meat. They looked nice, but tasted bland. The house fries had a Cajun seasoning. I tasted my truffle fries (that were given to someone else) and they were bomb! That made me even more upset lol. That my good fries went to someone else and they were the best thing I tasted all night and it took them over an hour to get my fries corrected! Friends had already started to close out their checks and leave the table by the time those fries had arrived. At that point, I asked for a manager to comp my fries. I really don't like typically coming on the opening week of a restaurant because more than likely it's not going to be a smooth service and they're still working out kinks. There is a clear problem with their reservation policy because we were not seated at our reserved 8pm time. We arrived at 7:55p for a prompt check-in with a party of 5. The foyer was crowded with over 50 people with limited seats for maybe 15 people. My friends and I stood for 45 minutes before finally having the opportunity to sit in the foyer. At 8:50p, the hostess brought 3 out of 5 of us another glass of champagne. I'm not sure why all of did not receive one, however; at that point, I could see that they were unorganized and discombobulated with their own process of reservations and seating. I was able to book a reservation and arrived a little before my booked time. The valet traffic was super backed up with traffic lined down Kirby. You don't have to valet and should park in the parking garage and there's a QR code at the check in desk that you can scan to get your parking validated! Parking in the garage will save you $10. Confessions is upstairs so you'll need to walk inside of the building to get to it. Inside is really cute there was a heavy grease smell. Our waiter took our order and the food came out quickly. I really wanted to like this spot. I do understand they just recently opened but there were some parts of my visit I did not enjoy. The service was very slow, they ran out of a lot of food options on the menu, food took forever to come out and you could tell that part of the dish was made before the other (mashed potato was cold and Chicken hot). Was not a fan of the taste mix of honey chicken and mash potatoes either. The presentation was cute but didn't fit the functionality on how it was supposed to be eaten. I had high expectations after seeing this place on my timeline so much. We arrived for our 6pm reservation early and were seated right away. I must say that the decor is gorgeous. They have a big patio space that I can see being a big hit. Our waitress informed us of the happy hour specials and the menu specifications of no substitutions. We saw wings were on the happy hour menu and decided to order some but the waitress informed us only the strawberry wings were on happy hour. Neither of us wanted those so we just decided to get our entree. We both decided on the lamb chops and asked what sides came with it, only to find out we had to order them separately. So we ordered fries, there were literally about 15 fries on the plate. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Upon leaving the restaurant the hostess gave me a parking validation slip, when I got to the exit the machine was broken and there were no assistants present to help so I ended up paying for my parking. New resturant alert! We checked out Confessions last night for our Thursday night Date Night. This was the soft opening and has only been open for a week so you know we had to check it out. It is located off of Kirby. When you pull up you have the option to pay $10.00 for valet or $5.00 for self parking that resturant will validate. We loved aesthics and vibe of the resturant. It is gorgeous in there. You have the option of inside dining or patio. We were greeted by our waiter Bali. He was awesome. He took care of us from start to finish. We were greeted with free champagne. Of course we had our sidecars which were good. The food is pretty good. The chicken alfrefo was good but a little spicy. We decided to be bold and get the strawberry wings. They were actually pretty good. They taste like a korean bbq sauce almost. The mac and cheese was good. The truffle chicken wasn't my favorite. The lemon pepper wings were really good. They are known for their Rockefeller lambchops..however i don't eat lambchops so i don't have an opinion. However the lady next to us was sucking the bones! The prices are decent. There is no dress code so half the people cute cute and the other half were very comfortable. The DJ was cool. Customer service a 10. The manager came and checked on us. The strawberry wings we absolutely amazing! I was skeptical at first but I 100% recommend. The Covered lamb chops were good and the honey chicken was too. But the wings hones was the best thing. Service was really slow. Not sure if the guy was new but he was not attentive. Had to wait quite a while for silverware. The Ambiance however was AMAZING! Overall my experience was good. My fiancé and I went on Saturday night and the wait for indoor seating was about an hour so they offered us the patio seating. The restaurant is beautiful! But the outdoor patio section needs some work. ONE, they need a speaker as you couldn't hear the music from indoors too well. Though they had the sliding doors open, it just wasn't the same. Full Version: My partner and I always travel to Houston, TX in hopes of supporting local businesses and restaurants. This time, we saw Confessions as a recommended spot across social media and even on OpenTable ahead of making dinner reservations. We made a reservation for 8:15pm, arrived at 8:10 after the valet parking service took our car. The hosting team mentioned they were getting our table ready. As we waited, several parties were taken in ahead of us as we weren't seated until after 9. Additionally, the hosting team was preferential as they had complimentary champagne for patrons that were waiting in the lobby. We were looked over the entirety of our wait. After finally being seated after 45mins+ of waiting with a reservation, we sat down to a compact table with incredibly loud music. Our waiter was nice but average at best, visited our table three times the entire time. The food options were very limited and overpriced. It was $340 after their mandatory 20% service charge and taxes, so about $100/person is what you can expect to spend. I love local businesses but I recommend enhancing your services and experiences through staff training and logistical planning/awareness--our experience was a C- last night. read more

The place is beautiful. 5 stars for aesthetics. Unfortunately, that's where my positive comments end. Granted this is a newer establishment and we wanted to give it grace but there was issue after issue. We arrived for our 4pm reservation to be told that seating does not start until 4:30 . Why even allow 4pm reservations ? Secondly, they didn't have iced tea....who doesn't have iced tea? Third, we inquired about the Honey Truffle Chicken and was told, "You don't have a choice of white or dark meat. It's whatever comes out." Which absolutely makes no sense. I should at least be able to choose white or dark OR as an establishment , it should be predetermined that the dish is prepared with specific pieces and noted . We also inquired about a menu item shown online that wasn't available on the current menu and was told that "the menu online should not have been published but they refuse to take it down, so yeah....that item is not available yet but will be. The lamb chops on the menu came with no sides and the other options came with potatoes. However, the side items were mac and cheese , yams, brussels , and I believe one other option but none of those could be subbed in. Again, I really wanted to like it but after being told that so much couldn't be done or what they didn't have in the first few minutes , I opted for an appetizer and a side. The Strawberry wings were decent. Didn't really taste a "kick" and they were very reminiscent of the strawberry glaze that is placed on fruit/cheesecake . I will say they had a nice crispy coating and were quite juicy but just not my cup of tea. However, I won't discourage against ordering them...like I said they weren't bad. The Brussel Sprouts were good. My only suggestion would be crispier bacon but overall pretty good. It was the highlight of my evening. Upon paying for my check via the QR code, I was told that I didn't pay for an item that was clearly listed on my ticket and that it would be an additional $7.xx. Once I showed that I indeed paid, the only other party at the table was told the same though they too had already paid for this item. Lastly, we were told by 2 of the hostesses upon entry and exiting that they weren't sure how to validate our parking as they were new. No offer to ask someone else or anything. Would I return...I don't have to. However, I do wish them well. The place is cute. I just wish the experience matched the aesthetics. read more
