Had Duane come out to my mothers house about a week ago to look at her furnace. Due to the fact that the furnace was over 20 years old, I asked for a quote on replacing it just to amuse her. To my surprise the quote was extremely affordable compared to the pricing of other companies that I'd been told from family and friends. Also, because life can be tougher, you expect fair treatment, good value, won't settle for cold food, bad service. I've known Connected for 20 years, from the original owner Mick to his son Dwayne. They've always been honest, only fixing what was needed. He just came by and fixed our new home's Heater for very little as the cold December nights arrived, and he came the next day. But he also installed a excellent H/AC unit in my past house in 2014 and his PRICE was very fair on top of a great system with a remote control we used everyday in our 2 story house. Original review is below. Update: The very next day the noise was getting louder. We were told the noise was normal, but it was louder than usual and kept getting louder after Jerry left. To his credit, he did fix the knocking sound in the bedroom by simply adjusting the angle of the register. I ended up going into the attic (after Jerry left) and the system was making so much noise. Jerry never went into the attic to look at the system (just examined the outside system). We called in another company and they replaced the blower motor and squirrel cage (blower wheel). Now the system is super quiet again and works like normal. Not cool that Connected never even went into the attic. They were onsite for less than 30 minutes. Also not cool that I took time off work to meet Connected at my home. They did refund me the $75. ______________________ Jerry just left and was awesome. We had a knocking sound in the bedroom (duct work) and the A/C hadn't been serviced in years. He tested the coolant level and for leaks and everything was good. In regards to the knocking, just needed to adjust the angle of the air register. I was concerned the bill would be much higher, but I was just charged the service fee. I'm very relieved there was not a substantial repair needed. Jerry arrived with is mask on and took his shoes off in the house. Great job! read more

I'm updating my review to say I've had to call Connected again for other potential issues, and I still stand by my old review from several years ago. Due to some air quality concerns in our home, in the past week alone, I've called MANY different companies relating to mold mitigation and air duct cleaning. Several of these companies have sent someone out to see me, and from the second they step in the door, it has been relentless fear-mongering. One of these duct cleaning companies even told me I had huge problems with our HVAC system and that we would need a costly replacement. I called Connected to get their take, and after speaking with Duane and doing some of my own research, I saw those other companies' scare tactics for what they were. Anyway, I tell the above story to illustrate the point that a lot companies will see an opportunity to take economic advantage of a customer and run with it. I've had the opposite experience with Connected. Connected doesn't try to pull the wool over the customer's eyes, and my experience with them has been one of efficiency and transparency. Duane doesn't try to upsell you on equipment you don't need, and he tells it to you straight. It's so hard to find honest companies these days, and it makes me appreciate companies like Connected that much more. Our A/C stopped working and Duane and his assistant, Billy arrived the same day I called. Other HVAC contractors told us we needed a new A/C altogether about $12,000.- Duane told us that it was not necessary and it was just the capacitor that was faulty. He replaced the part and perfecto! We are new to the area and recently purchased our home, and installed Nest thermostats for our 2 AC units. One of our units began flickering on and off during the intense heat today, and after some internet research, we determined it was likely due to old wiring and no C-wire. I called Connected and spoke with Evelyn. She was very helpful and polite, and immediately forwarded my information to David, who called me a short while later. I figured with the heat there was no way they could come out today, but David said he was nearby and could take a look after he was done at the house he was currently working at. Connected Heating and Air installed a Bryant AC unit in my home several years ago. My memory of the process was a positive one. Duane quoted me a very reasonable price. I remember that he and his crew installed the unit in just a few hours and even took care of the disposal of my old unit. Fast forward to last week with the heatwave sweeping Orange County, I noticed my outdoor AC unit was not turning on. This was going to be very problematic for me since I had quite a bit of work to do at home that weekend. I gave Duane a call on a Saturday night, leaving a message on his voicemail and fully expecting a response on Monday since they're not open on the weekends. To my surprise, Duane gave me a call back in an hour and asked if he could come over to take a look at the unit. He came by, examined the unit, and fixed the issue within a few minutes. It's interesting how professionals will always be professionals...except Duane is also honest, works fast, and is extremely personable and friendly. It's been awhile since we first met (see my previous review), we had a minor issue with the condenser pan drain clogging up in the attic. Instead of "call to schedule an appointment" or "We charge $85 for a diagnosis", Duane came out two days later, flushed the lines with nitrogen, and was out within 20 minutes. Price was lower than most quotes I received and definitely preferred over the "diagnostic fee and then over charge pricing." So with all the heat this past month, of course our AC decided had to stop working - and we had to get it fixed probably at the worst time ever w/ all the corona virus craziness going on. Our AC had been leaking refrigerant in the past so we decided it was time to bite the bullet and just get to the root of the problem - no more sealant/band aids! I spoke w/ Duane and he had John come over and do an isolation test to see where the leak was coming from. They discovered it was from the evaporator upstairs. Our AC unit is about 9 years old so we were uncertain if it was still under warranty. Duane went to bat for us and found out that the evaporator was still under warranty - phew! They got the new evaporator and did a fantastic job. They were always on time, cleaned up after their work and communicated w/ me along the way. Finally, at the end, the AC was freezing cold again. And for the work they did, I feel what they charged me was fair and honest. And every time, everyone was very nice.I've already referred them to one of my neighbors and he was happy too! I called Connected for service on my AC unit's evaporator coil. David called me back a couple hours later. I explained my AC situation to David and he said he was booked for the next couple days (July heat wave), but he said I could probably do it myself and save a bundle if I was "handy". He spent about 20 minutes of his time, on the phone, walking me through the steps on how to clean out the coil. He said he would also be available to talk if I ran into any issues and gave me his direct mobile number. I did run into an issue, I called David and he walked me through the rest of it. I'm in the process of replacing the 30 year old HVAC system in my house. I've had multiple companies come out and give estimates so far and Connected heating and Air was one of them. David arrived at the scheduled time and looked at my house, attic and existing system (furnace in a hallway closet). He clearly explained what my options are and answered my questions to satisfaction. He gave me the pros and cons for different sized system, seer rating, moving the furnace to the attic vs keeping it in the hallway and provided quotes for the options I requested. Extremely knowledgeable and especially accommodating to our schedule! We started a backyard remodel and had David disconnect the rather large Trane 15i condenser to move across the yard, with a little help from the yard demo crew, to get to the concrete underneath. David did all of this and wrapped it up to protect it from the mess of dirt that was about to be everywhere. Then over a month later, with 3 days notice, David came back on a Saturday morning to place it back, reconnect, charge, test, tune, etc, for the yard crew to finish their job too. Timing was great. I was overly worried because another company on Yelp, who quoted 3x as much, said often the system won't restart after a move and re-connect. But ours worked flawlessly! Thanks again David. I expected that I will set an appointed or discuss some pertinent details of the project but what I got was a hurried one-way conversation that made me feel that I was just wasting time. GREAT SERVICE! I have been using Connected Air for several years now. Every time I received prompt responses from the staff members as well as the owner. They have been very honest and reasonable on the charge from small repair to big AC outdoor unit swap. I recently had an outdoor AC unit not working. They provided me options for different brands with different prices and explained the pros and cons. When they found out the unit I chose was not available, they offered a better brand unit with the same price. And installed within 2 days. This company is a CLASS ACT! My parents recommended Duane and Connected after a very positive experience installing a new unit in their home. Duane called me back within an hour and offered to come later that day to look at my outside AC unit, which has suddenly stopped working. He and his assistant arrived on time and were very friendly. They spent 15 minutes looking at the unit and discovered a faulty breaker switch was the only issue. He did a full inspection of my AC unit and said it was in good condition and that there was plenty of Freon. They were professional, courteous, timely and his prices were very fair - everything you want in a contractor.
