I used to like going to this location. Unfortunately, a foul odor caused us to leave.

We having been coming to Conrad's since the opening and had many family functions there ...we went in for dinner last night and sat at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and polite. I ordered Salmon Blackened and my husband ordered the Prime Rib. We ordered two Caesar salads to start. My salmon arrived and was 6 ounces at best, under cooked and had 8 asparagus on the plate. My husbands Prime Rib was good he received asparagus and a baked potato. When our check arrived it was $100.00 I work in the food service industry and shop to feed our family so I understand the cost of food. However we were charged $9.00 dollars each for the side Caesar salads. When my salmon arrived with only one side I assumed that my Caesar was perhaps my second side but NO. I politely questioned the $9 side salad and the bartender said that it was correct and he has had patrons who have been upset as well. $22.99 for a 6 ounce piece of salmon and 8 asparagus is outrageous and $18 for two small salads ridiculous. They lost two customers! read more

Stopped in with my mother to have some dinner. We both got the steak tips. I got mine with rice and she got hers with a baked potato. The steak tips were cooked as we specified but came luke warm. The rice was also luke warm. My mothers baked potato was cold in the middle. a fight broke out directly behind me at the bar. It was so close that I had to get out my chair and protect myself. It ended up to be quite a few minutes long before i was able to return to my seat. All the manager cane to say was "sorry about that" "welcome to the friday night fights". Got dragged there for a holiday gathering and nothing has changed. Still poorly run, disinterested staff and bad food except the steak tips. I had a couple of glasses of soda water and watched half a dozen people get disappointed with their food. I can't figure out how this place stays in business. Conrads is probably the worst restaurant been to in years. The food was so old and disgusting tasting, the service was lazy and slow, and the whole environment was so depressing including their typical clientele. I will definitely never be back at this place, I literally feel sick to my stomach after eating their food. Do you want to enjoy actual quality food in Walpole, I would suggest going to the Raven's nest, farmer in the Dell, or Asian Deli. The worst. read more

Hi. We love Conrad's every time we go except yesterday! There was a group of us for drinks and dinner while watching the Masters. When the bill arrived, I gave the server my credit card and requested a specific amount be placed on my credit card. When I checked my account this morning, there was a hold on my credit card for the total amount of the bill (a very large amount) as well as the correct amount. I called the restaurant and was told it was "human error" and that the larger amount should be reversed in a couple of days. (Fingers crossed). Had the server told me this last night I would have appreciated it. For the record, this has happened more than once at this restaurant, If this had not occurred, I definitely would have given a 4 star rating. read more

Been going here since I was a kid and never had a problem once before tonight, we were seated and it was obviously a little busy which is understandable if service is delayed, we received our drinks 30 minutes after ordering them and then had to wait another 30 minutes for a bus boy to ask us kindly if we needed boxes for our food because our waitress literally decided she didn't want to serve us anymore after being extremely polite the entire meal, we then waited another 40 minutes just to receive our check which we had to go up to the hostess desk to ask for along with a manager which we never got, instead we got the obviously disgruntled worker who came and slammed our check on the table, won't be returning to this location again. read more

Regarding Walpole High School's 34th & 35th reunion I am quite appalled by Conrad's Manager, Larry's response. To refresh, the bar staff was instructed to turn up the house volume when a certain song was to play. After I instructed them how to do it from THEIR controls, which should have been the managers job, they couldn't figure it out when the time came. What a shame. Larry, you tried to blame it on a faulty cord and equipment which is a lie. The "cord" worked fine all day. You also state that your not responsible for others equipment, which I agree, however, we HAD to bring in our own equipment because we were told by Conrad's that they have no capacity to play a CD over the back room speakers. Again, nothing was faulty except your lack of attention to this very special event. I was told by Beth (I may have the name wrong) to arrive two hours early the day of the event to speak to you regarding the speakers. I asked for you for up until the event yet you were no where to be found. Afterwards you admitted to be in the "office", no one in the facility knew were there. You also mentioned that you sent e-mails to the man that was running the event. Larry, my mother ran the event. She booked the hall, choose the menu, paid, we decorated, cleaned; etc. You don't even know who you're client was. Not once did you reach out to the the person you hurt. The events I stated are true to the fault. Shame on you to believe your lying staff. There is no misuse of Yelp, just your intentional ignorance to the obvious facts. We got here later on a Friday evening and were seated immediately. The friendly waitress came right over and got our drink order. For dinner we ordered a mix of dinner offerings and appetizers. Loved the buffalo tenders and nachos as appetizers. We shared pasta carbonara and steak tips for the main course. The steak tips were like no other - amazing. The carbonara was different than I've had before, it had corn and cherry tomatoes in it. A nice twist. We really enjoyed our night here. read more

Have never been here before but was told the one in Norwood had gone downhill so we tried this one in Walpole. 7 of us met for lunch on a Saturday early June. We were seated around 1:30. Very few people in the restaurant so it almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. Started off good with ordering drinks. Then we ordered food - 3 ordered sandwiches, 3 meals and 1 salad. Well it was taking so long that the waitress came over and apologized and asked if we would like some rolls while we were waiting. YES as everyone was pretty hungry. Rolls came and were devoured - still no orders came out. After about 40 minutes or so a few meals came out and then 5 minutes later some more. The last meal (a salad) came out 10 minutes after everyone had their food. So the wait was bad enough but the food left a lot to be desired. 2 of us ordered the smoked pastrami - asked what it came on and she said a roll. ONe said not to have it toasted. When the plates came the pastrami was on white bread that had been toasted. The pastrami itself was fatty and salty. They really should get better quality meat and maybe grill it like other places do. But the french fries were good. And the people that got steak tips said those were good. Back to the salad - when it finally came it had to be sent back. The server brought it out and said here is the Cobb Salad - no one ordered that! The salad that was ordered was a Gluten Free basic salad with chicken and no croutons. So the salad had to go back and it took another 10 minutes for the correct one to come out. By this time the rest of us had finished our meals. There are so many places for lunch that i strongly suggest finding another one to go to. Which others must have learned because there were not many people there. Forgot to add that the mashed potatoes that came with one of the steak tips dinners were cold - not lukewarm but cold. Had to be sent back so there went another 5 or so minutes for that hungry diner. read more

I have to say that the chicken broccoli ziti is one of my favorite dishes ever. But it pains me to say that service has gone downhill so much in the last year that i do not visit there as often now. Was there the other night with a large group, place was not extra busy, we had to wait almost an hour for drink orders to be placed and then another 45 for food orders, and my order was taken but never placed with the kitchen. I know she wrote it down because i watched her. I had to ask about it after everyone else was served. The waitress did apologize and put the order in but at that point i had to ask for it to go. Then she apologized again and asked if i wanted it taken off the bill. I should not even have been asked that. It should have been automatic. When i finally did get my food and go home and eat it was after ten. And i discovered that the broccoli in the pasta was not cooked very well. It was very hard to bite into. I don't have a problem with the food usually but service needs vast improvement. read more

This place really isn't as good as people make it out to be. Not only is it expensive and very low quality, but the service is even worse. From someone who used to work in this industry it really pains me to see how they treat their customers here. It's like they don't exist! The food is also all frozen unless you get steak tips which are usually okay. We go to Conrad's from time to time, for the price it usually isn't too bad. But lately the service has been worse than usual. We recently were seated and after 15-20 minutes of being ignored by multiple staff, we actually left the restaurant and went to the Norwood location instead. And it was very slow at that time, there were more employees than customers. Servers forgetting drinks (here's a hint-write stuff down), bringing salads 2 minutes before entrees are brought to the table (huge pet peeve of mine-when did this start?) young man talking up waitresses and doing side work instead of checking on tables. It's called "side work" for a reason. Wife's chicken sandwich was wet and soggy for some unknown reason. Asked for a drink that is clearly printed on the cocktail menu - "we went out of our way to make it for you". Sure you did, champ. The only saving grace is that the prices are reasonable. The one lady there i think her name might be Anne, always gives us good service otherwise it's a crap shoot. Conrad's used to be really good, hopefully they can improve. read more

I have continued to give Conrad's a chance to be good, but it continues to fall off my list of places to eat. Just recently, I met a girlfriend of mine there for lunch. We sat at the bar because the restruant tables were emtpy thinking we could get faster service, boy were we wrong! The bartender basically ignored me, I got there before my friend and waited and waited.. and waited even longer after she arrived before we even got menus. However- two older gentlemen came in shortly before my friend arrived, and they were helped almost immediatly! I had to ASK for menus. Unbelievable! We don't ask for much when dining out. Good food at a decent price and attentive service. Especially when the restaurant is empty. Our visit was horrible, our waitress took our drink orders (which was water) to start as we just sat down and we were reviewing the menu. Brought us our water and we never saw her again. Ok, the other waitress in that section also ignored us as we sat for 30 minutes in a fairly empty place. Maybe we should have stood up waved someone down and/ or make a scene or request to speak with the manager, but we are not those type of people, like I said the basic service is all I ask for in life. Absolutely no one acknowledged us as we sat with our menus closed. After 30 minutes a few sips of water and one round of keno we left. read more

We have had the same waitress Roxanne for over a year. She is awesome. The goat cheese salad with steak is unbelievable. Conrads is really well qualified to handle large groups. I like Conrads. It's always been good in Norwood food-wise, with an eclectic atmosphere in the bar so I was curious about the Walpole location. This one has a modern pub design which is nice but doesn't have the same slightly off feel as Norwood (I guess it's the circular bar that's so cool). This was the first place I went out to eat after coming back to the States and starting with the hostess it reminded me how un-friendly so many people are here. It's too bad when your job is service that you can't try to make other people's days better with your attitude -- instead I felt like I should try to cheer them up. Same thing with the waitress -- just kind of the usual half-hearted attempt at seeming nice. Maybe businesses should stop being allowed to pay slave labor at off hours... The food was good! It was exactly what I remembered from Norwood. I ordered the nachos grande and then steak tips. No complaints what-so-ever there. I would for sure come back thanks to the food quality/price ratio. I like the atmosphere better in Norwood but proximity counts too. Maybe they need a new floor manager though to brighten their employees lives a bit and create a little more happiness from within. I'm a big fan of Conrads! We went to their original location all the time when we lived in Norwood. We were very excited when they opened the Walpole location. Mr Conrad has it dow, cheap food and cheap drinks. I highly recommend the steak tips or italiano pizza. If your lucky, the prime rib is a steal, but it does go fast. As far as people's complaints about service, iv never had any issues at either location. I've always found the service to be great, and the manager is always on the floor checking on people. Sometimes Mr Conrad is there too checking on people. I also reccomend their catering. Great quality food at a fair price. We have even used their function room for our baby shower. hub found them on the Find Me Gluten Free app; thought to give it a try as there are not that many choices in the area. went in without reservation on a Sunday evening for party of 5 1/2. seated momentarily in the quieter side of the restaurant which i appreciate. menu and drinks looked promising so we put in the order relatively quickly. food came in timely fashion but sadly to say, it was not able to bring us all home satisfied. hub ordered a watermelon sangria that tastes like jolly rancher, which is not bad per se but that means artificial flavoring not real watermelon. summer is just around the corner, for crying out loud, it's not that difficult to get fresh fruit. my broiled captain's platter was not bad for what it's worth: the scallops (2) were small but at least cooked right, the haddock (one big slap) was moist and the bread crumbs gave enough flavor. one small complaint on the shrimp (2): they were cooked well to the bouncy texture, just that there was a faint..."scent" to it that tells you it's either frozen or not very fresh. it's not horrible, just could be better. the greatest disappointment came from hub's dish which needed to be gluten free. they had a separate menu and he specified at ordering. nevertheless his salad came with croutons which needed to be returned, and the pasta didn't taste very much like the GF variety. so either it's THAT good, or it wasn't GF. he is not deathly allergic so he took the risk to finish the dish, and he went home having a reaction. our waitress wasn't rude or anything, but i'm not sure if she's overworked or under-trained, or both. when we sent back the salad she said she put down GF but her line might have missed it. hub then reconfirmed with her that his pasta is GF and she said yes but it appeared that it was not. when hub called the manager the next day and explained what happened, manager was apologetic and appeared to put in an effort to resolve the issue. he said, however, that the waitress should have been the one putting together the salad, not a line worker. so there you go two stories we are hearing. in any case we were not looking to get anyone in trouble we just want restaurant owners/managers to understand that many people follow this diet for health reasons not just a fad, thus.malpractice by untrained/unaware staff can get someone very very sick (we were eyewitness to one ourselves, not fun). he was understanding to our plight and was not in denial like some other establishment we had the misfortune to set our feet into. for that progressive and positive attitude i'm willing to bump it up to three stars. food is average but the ambiance seems ok: clean lines, modern-ish decor, enough of a crowd so it doesn't feel deserted next to the now-empty neighbouring storefront which used to house blockbuster. parking lot seems a little tight directly opposite the establishment but it's in a strip mall so plenty of spots nearby. they have function room also, great for any special occasion. read more

I love a bar with a kitchen that's open late even on weekdays and has amazing steak tips and bar pizza. I had only ever ordered takeout from Conrad's in the past and was already familiar with their excellent steak tips, but now I can honestly say that I have had the pleasure of eating at their bar. Even though it was late on a Monday night the bartender was friendly and engaging. When I asked if they had bleu cheese stuffed olives for the dirty martinis I love, she offered to make some from scratch. If she had simply said, 'no I'm sorry,' I would have been fine and understood as they are not common. I know it's a small thing, but that's the kind of service that sets places apart. I regret forgetting her name but definitely plan to return and will update my review accordingly. read more

We go to Conrad's regularly for their delicious steak tips, which are always perfectly prepared and a very generous serving. Should have stuck with the usual tonight, but was enticed by the lobster roll, which was on the daily specials menu. When dinner arrived at the table, the plate contained a small roll with what might have been two forkfuls of lobster camouflaged with shredded lettuce on top. I left as hungry as when I arrived. Compounding our dissatisfaction with this visit to Conrad's was the inattentive service of our waiter, Antonio, who dropped off our food and never returned, choosing instead to engage in conversation with customers at a nearby table for the duration of our meal. There are a lot of other choices in Walpole with similar fare. Next time we will be visiting one of them. read more

As time has gone on, Conrad's in Walpole has worked out their 'kinks'. We eat here once a week. My favorite foods here are the quesadillas, buffalo chicken pizza, chicken parm, cheeseburger club and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the grilled chicken salad. My boyfriend and best buddy agree that the fish 'n' chips are the best they have tried. The bartender/manager is wonderful. She is VERY attentive to her customers...always taking the extra steps to make sure our dining experience is excellent. For the area, this is my favorite bar/restaurant. read more

Last meal was a "Pastrami Sandwich" with Rice Pilaf on the side. It seemed that the sandwich was drenched in grease. I almost thought that they took the bread out of a loaf of bread that had been soaking in oil for days. The meet was rubbery/greasy, with large pieces of un-chewable fat. The place was nearly empty, and still they had the televisions on all over the place. It seems to be a place for really sports-minded people that don't know how to converse, only sit and eat/drink and watch TV. read more

Steak tips were some of the most tender steak tips I've ever had... Conrad's knows what they're doing when it comes to steak tips. I ordered the spinach, cranberry, and goat cheese salad with turkey tips.. very good. Turkey tips were a little dry but I think the even the water was dry compared to how juicy and awesome the steak tips were. I liked the atmosphere.. Family restaurant by day/early evening and a great place to catch a game and have some drinks at night. I liked that they had several seating options, the bar, the large openin dining room with TVs all around (including individual TVs in the booths, and a more intimate and private dining area in the back. Waitress was very friendly and I did not have any concerns about service, as other yelpers mentioned in their reviews. To sum it up, go to Conrad's and get the steak tips. I had my first experience at Conrads today at a work Christmas party. Let me tell you, I've never been more impressed with catered food. The menu we elected included caesar salad, eggplant parm, chicken marsala, steak tips and roasted potatoes. Everything was amazing. The establishment was clean, festively decorated and the people there were more than accommodating. After today, I will most definitely make the 13 mile commute for dinner, without question. Went for lunch as a company outing. The party was large and the waiters had all orders correct and was quite attentive. I had the goat cheese salad and added steak tips. Everything was delicious. I ordered fries on the side and they were not good. Very mushy and not crispy. This is my only real complaint. The prices were fair and drinks looked good, which we weren't able to enjoy today. The menu looked great too but there were a lot of meals I wouldn't order at lunch. I'd love to go back for dinner and drinks. read more
