Our server was very helpful with our questions and gave great recommendations. All our dishes came out in the proper order, prepared well and tasting delicious. So much shareable goodness! No complaints that the portions are more generous than you'd expect. We ordered a lot but less than what we anticipated, so now I'm anticipating the next visit to try more! read more

Paid parking being implemented, be warned. So cannot self park without a smart phone. The other night met my friends there. After several attempts to use Contigos parking validation code they admitted the cameras were not operational yet. Our tacos, and shrimp, and more were good but very expensive. Tres leche cake and pot de creme were okay. Service was okay and not overly friendly. A request for a latte came to the table cold on first try. We have dined at Contigo about 10 times in the last few years. The last few times the food quality has steadily gone down - the fish options are consistently tasteless - even their specials. Yesterday I ordered the fish taco to stay safe and my friends ordered the steak, the lamb chops and the short rib tacos - suffice it to say if we weren't super hungry none of us would have taken more than the initial couple of bites. Even a simple batter fried fish taco was almost inedible with the batter falling off, the fish inside being hard and with no seasoning and smothered in generic coleslaw. The lamb was horrifying with it floating in oil. What's keeping this place going is the good slate of appetizers. This time around, we were told they had no coffee left after the meal and on complaining 'they found some espresso'. Then the Cuban cortados came out with no milk - really not sure what was going on over there last night, Not going back anytime soon. read more

This is one of my many return trips to Contigo. I still love the ambiance and the wait staff is always attentive and courteous. The elite tapa dishes continues to be very delicious. For an entree I had the chorizo de champiñones with a side of elope. I was surprised by my meal, I expected much more. The mushroom chorizo was too salty and the side salad seemed like it was thrown together, there was no cohesion in flavor and appearance. What a pleasant surprise! We stumbled upon this gem on a weeknight nonetheless. We were a little confused on where to park but there is plenty of parking. We did not have reservations but we just took a chance and surprisingly we got seats right away. The place was busy and next time I will ask to sit outside. It's got wonderful views of the golf course and mountains. Our server was nice, attentive and looked in on us often despite how busy the place was. I ordered a sangria which was one of the best sangrias in town. Trust me they don't skimp on the liquor. Now the food! Do not sleep on the beet salad! It is wonderful and you will thank me later. I loved chimchurri dip with bread which we devoured. We had delicious hot and crispy calamari to start and our main dishes were wonderful-I had fish tacos and my husband had the tacos contigo both were loaded with flavors that we truly enjoyed right down to the beans and rice. I made a reservation for my sister, visiting for the holidays, and myself to celebrate my birthday and I'm so pleased I did. My sister has traveled the world and is a true "foodie" and with the pick of anywhere in Tucson to go, I was trying out Contigo Latin Kitchen for the first time. I needn't have worried a moment! We had cocktails (mine was the Mojito which was just a bit too full of minty flavor for my taste, but still a fine drink), and the Bombas Contigo for an appetizer we split. It is such an amazing, light, tasty bite that is still rich, decadent, and crispy! The true highlight was the Paella for two! We completely enjoyed the Paella Mariscos, piled high with seafood beyond belief! The special sauce just made the dish soar. The service was 10+. No rush, extremely kind and helpful, and never a glitch or delay or hint of inattention. To top it off, the sunset was spectacular and the ambiance of Contigo was perfect. What a night out! Then to top it off they brought out a huge piece of their Tres Leches cake for my birthday that we shared, and we floated out of there with one of our best evenings together ever! Thank You, Contigo! We came here for a date night last Saturday. There was a short wait but the lounge area is cute. Our server was kind and checked in on us just enough for a pleasant dining experience. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer. The squid was okay but you could tell it was cooked in old oil. My date ordered the Churrasco. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, but we felt there was a lack of flavor and the chimichurri was lacking. However, the server provided us chimichurri aioli which took to the next level. The paella I order tasted delicious and the short rib fell off the bone! I absolutely loved the paella and there was enough left for another 2 meals. We want to visit this restaurant again during the summer to enjoy the patio seating. read more

We had the Elote (cooked perfectly and the amount almost equals 2 cobs), the bacon and potato croquettes were mostly potato (almost no bacon taste), the fried calamari was good, fish tacos were amazing and flavorful as well as the carne asada tacos. They also serve fresh bread with a cilantro/parsley oil. Their service was immaculate, however reservations are a MUST!! Margaritas are fresh and good. If you have to, bring the kids but if you can leave them at home. View of the valley is amazing as well. We ate dinner at 7:15 as that was the earliest and probably the only family there. read more

Wow this was a magical experience. Reservations are a must for a great table ours was outside with that beautiful view of the city , mountains and the stars. Luis was our server but this really felt like a team effort water never emptied courses came out very quickly and were well prepared. We started with sangria which was nice. The ceviche is a must on the tapas list was extremely tasty and not soupy . We also had bombas Contigo and the croquet with califlower. All were tasty. Then the paella with prawns and short ribs. Was surprised to find this flavorful latin kitchen inside the La Paloma resort. The service was great, as was the food. We ordered the ceviche and patatas bravas as starters. The waiter let us take our time before bring the entree which was the tacos contigo, a go to for this spot. The ceviche was very fresh, full of flavor, and came with some nice chips to enjoy it with. The patatas bravas came with two tasty sauces that were delicious. The tacos were very well seasoned but they were a little too big and hard to eat. The toppings were delicious. My family and I had a great experience here. The restaurant interior is amazing- such a unique design, with really nice warm lighting. The service was awesome. Would love to have given 5 stars! Called right after they opened on a Saturday asking if they'd have availability for a party of six the same evening. They said none were available until 8:30. While checking OpenTable to see what other options in the area were available, noticed they indeed did have the time slot we had just called about for a party of 6 available. Booked it immediately. Arriving, our party was seated right away and indoors as requested. The view from the outdoor seating area is beautiful and would highly recommend if weather permits. Our waiter seemed incredibly rushed as if he couldn't be bothered to even be polite or welcoming. No one was waiting to be seated in the lobby area so I didn't see the need to be so rushed. For an establishment like this, I was surprised and the only reason I docked a star. The food itself was great. Ordered the chorizo y pollo Paella which is meant for 2-3 people. Amongst our group, we ordered tacos, lamb chops, steak, patatas bravas, and chips and guac. They do offer a kids menu. Overall, would highly recommend especially for a special occasion! read more

Leaning towards 3.5 stars, this is upper class Latino influenced cuisine. At least for the items ordered, it was good food, nothing spectacular, but good. If you are staying at the Westin La Paloma, on whose grounds this restaurant is, I would definitely recommend eating here. We enjoyed our waiter. He had a good personality and was friendly. HOWEVER...to be addressed later. The views in from the restaurant are wonderful. The dining areas feel open with plenty of windows and you have views of the mountains. We started out with the crispy calamari. But it was not crispy and I found it to be chewy and bland. It came complete with plenty of tentacles, too, connected to the main body, leaving us wondering how to eat the thing. But the bottom line was, the batter was not crispy. We didn't enjoy it at all. Seeing our mostly full appetizer plate, our server inquired and we told him to take it away. He asked if we would like to try something else, which we did, and he suggested the Tostada "Contramar," which we accepted. At the end we still paid for the calamari. I guess that's understandable, but I would think it would be taken off the bill, but I'm not going hold that against him or the restaurant. The Tostada "Contramar" was very good, raw salmon on mini tostada shells (really--not a tortilla round chip), with chipotle, fried leeks, soy chiltepin, and avocado. For the main course, I had the Tacos Contigo, braised short rib tacos, and my wife had the fish tacos. I thought the short ribs lacked some flavor. My wife enjoyed her fish tacos. So there you go. A 3.5 star experience. I recommend you try it yourself. I may return to give another item on their menu a try. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? What an amazing experience! We sat in the terrace on a lovely fall evening. The wine was great, the appetizers came out quickly with the wine. Everyone's entrees were amazing. We also had desserts were also quite nice, especially the Tres Leches cake. Hats off to Luis and Cesar for attentive and thoughtful service. The went the extra mile with our elderly parents. We have eaten at Contigo Latin Kitchen for years and consider it one of the very best restaurants in southern Arizona. And owner Deborah Tenino is one of Tucson's most creative restauranteurs. Last night was no different; the food and service were superb. However, to our great dismay we discovered that one must now pay to park in the large Westin La Paloma parking lot where the restaurant is located. Not only that, the process is so complicated that six smart people could not figure it out. A restaurant as good as Contigo should have free parking, just like Vivace, North, Flemings, Le Rendezvous, and all the other top places in town. We will never return to Contigo because of this insulting parking policy. read more

The service was great, the view is fantastic. The prices aren't cheap, but not as ridiculous as other places in this area. First the elote corn appetizer was fantastic. The complimentary bread and chimichurri was good. They said the paella was for two but I was doubtful and ordered their chorizo burger which was good. But they were right about the paella. I was looking for a nice place to do a date night with my wife and decided to give Contigo a shot. We were hoping for somewhere fun that we could dress up and have a nice dinner. We made a reservation for 7:45, when we arrived at about 7:40 and our table was waiting for us out on the patio. It was slightly chilly outside but they had heaters and it was nice. We had a beautiful view of the city lights from the table. Our waiter was very friendly and happy to answer all of our questions. My wife ordered the lamb chops and I had the seafood paella. We also ordered the elote and some bacon wrapped dates. The elote was really great but how can you go wrong with elote. The dates were a little different and a bit sweet for me, but still good. The lamb was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing, my wife was very pleased. This was my first time having paella, it was good but I probably wouldn't order it again myself. The rice was crispy on the edges but a little too soft in the middle. For dessert my wife ordered the tres leches cake and we got the chocolate cake to take home to our daughter. The cake was delicious but the chocolate cake was really intense, so if you order it make sure you really like chocolate. Overall we really enjoyed dinner and I'm sure we'll come back again. read more

The vegan paella was the single worst thing I've ever ordered at a restaurant. For $40 you get an unseasoned heap of rice and vegetables, soaked with oil, and covered in a lb of *shishito peppers* which not only add nothing to the dish but are inconvenient to eat in a paella. We had a group of 21 people, so we were in a private room. The service was excellent, and the price was reasonable (about $65/person not including drinks). I don't know if I'll be in Tucson again, but if I am, I would consider coming back. read more

Parillada platter for 2....A platter of tenderloin, lamb chops, ribeye with Argentina chorizo, roast marrow, salsa Verde, and, sautéed vegetables. How could you go wrong with the influences of South America and Spain. If you don't like chili's, tomatoes, garlic, exotic ginger, coconut, herbs, Grass-fed beef and free range chicken, this place really isn't your plate of food. It was a great place to have a staycation date night. We were on our way out when I realized that this restaurant probably knew how to make a really good Flan. We noticed a open table so we asked Brittanie if we could order a Flan, It was dense, and cut like a piece of cheesecake, not my favorite. Service here was great from start to finish. Very attentive and we have never received our drink order so quickly. The food was timed perfectly. We ordered the shishito peppers to start (a few hot ones in the bunch) and the tacos contigo for our entrees. The short rib was tender and delicious and the variety of toppings on tacos were full of flavor. I would definitely come back. My only complaint is that the parking is a bit weird. The lot is down a little hill from the front of the restaurant and the lights in the lot weren't on when we arrived so we were just walking in the dark which felt a bit dangerous but when we left the lights were on and it was better. read more

Really great service, fantastic drinks (best caipirinha ever), and the portions were slightly insane (try the paella but it's probably good to split between 3-4 people).
