On early afternoon on Friday, I placed an order for pickup of items in stock at the store. Today on Monday!!!!, I get an email that they have deleted for no stated reason the 10 planters that I ordered. The stated wait time on their complaint line is 45 minutes, but was actually 1 hour. Please ask the FTC to file restraint of trade against Lowes and The Home Depot for putting the only retailer that provided reasonable service Orchard Supply out of business. Lowes bought them and then closed all stores. I am easy to find on LinkedIn and would love to join a class action lawsuit over restraint of trade in the home improvement store industry. They under pay employees and get very poor attitudes as a result. I am considering a small claims court action, where if they fail to appear I will win by default, otherwise they will suffer the cost of paying their lawyers to show up in Santa Clara, CA. The customer service is really bad. Waited to get help for about 25/30 min. Finally left the store. Before ordering wanted to confirm something. There were 2/3 people near customer service desk. I went to HD Supply to get 12' sheets of 5/8" Type-X sheetrock for a garage overhaul. This was on a Saturday morning, and before trying HD Supply I visited the other big-box chain stores in the area. Since I do not own a vehicle that can move 12' long sheets of drywall, I was going to have to rent a truck. This proved to be impossible at the other retail stores, and way too expensive at a truck rental place. So, frustrated with all of this I figured I would see what HD Supply had and if they would deliver. A good surprise was waiting for me at HD Supply. They had the drywall I needed, and they had it loaded and delivered to my house within 60 minutes. The delivery charge was $75, but considering that I had them deliver and unload 1800 pounds of the stuff, and FAST, it was a no-brainer deal. HD Supply has a pretty good inventory of stuff. The variety is nowhere near as broad as you might find at the other big chain stores, but the stuff that is there is generally higher quality, contractor-grade stuff. So, while they have less selection to choose from, what they do carry is of above-average quality and you spend less time looking at junk. I am particularly impressed with their inventory of pre-made wood cabinets and fixtures, and I know where I will be going for those sort of things. Very little of it is MDF/veneer from what I saw, which is nice since real wood is always a better long term buy. Anyway, HD Supply seems like a place that does most of its business with contractors, but I am grateful that they also run normal retail services for homeowners. It is way less crowded on a weekend than the competition, and it is my go-to place for materials for any sort of remodeling or home renovation project! read more

I ordered a mirror two different times and both times it never showed up. Both times they couldn't give me a reason why it was returned to their warehouse instead of delivered. When I called again (after weeks of ordering, waiting, calling, ordering, waiting, calling, etc.) I was told they aren't able to deliver it and they never were and aren't sure why they even let me order it to begin with. I will say the people I dealt with were friendly but apparently certainly not knowledgeable. Now weeks later I'm waiting on my last refund and still not any closer to having the mirror I need. Update: And now, 3 weeks after the second mirror was returned, I still have not received my refund (after calling multiple times) and they can't even tell me if my return was "approved" or not yet. read more

Great Prices on their products and I like the idea of having multiple options for buying Home Repair /Supply products than just going to Lowes or Home Depot. I think having this type of store available is a plus in my book. Just make sure you check you receipt to make sure your charges are correct. It happened to me and I asked if they enter the "Sale" prices into the store system and the salesperson said "No not on all the Products that are on sale!" This home improvement store has its pros and cons. The selection is average - you can find the basics. Pricing may be cheaper or more expensive than other stores so do your research. What is nice is that they have some in stock items such as double entry doors that you'd have to special order at other places. I knew what I wanted - 6x6 5'x50' concrete remesh for staking my tomatoes - and they had it for almost 50% off of what I found online at Lowes (they didn't have it at my local store)! Walking around for a hour, it seems that most of the prices are similar to the remesh. Also, after a couple heinous water leaks in my kitchen, I've been shopping around for replacement flooring (wood laminate/tile) and countertops & backsplash materials. Some cherry laminate flooring that I found here was way cheaper than what I've found at Lowes and Home Depot, and the quality seems much better [here] for the type of product. Maybe the selection (for some stuff) here might not be as great as Lowes or Home Depot (i.e., ceiling fans or vanity lighting), but I'm impressed with the quality and it was fairly tidy for the few number of employees working there. The concrete remesh was in their drive-thru indoor lumber yard - which was fun to drive around (not crazily). It'll definitely be my go-to place first for DIY stuffs. read more

They've got cabinets. I've got a hole in the kitchen that needs a cabinet. Unfortunately, their cabinets didn't match my existing cabinets. But they were perfectly nice about helping me pick a cabinet that might be an OK match, schlepping it to my car, and then cheerfully taking it back when I realized it was too tall and too pink for the space. read more

After buying 3 boxes of tile at HD we were very disappointed to get home and find one of the boxes of tiles damaged. Dang it!!! I knew I was going to have a hassle transferring this HEAVY box out of my car and returning it and then have to reload another HEAVY box back into my car. No such situation as Ro took care of everything for me! As I literally drove into the parking lot I asked him if I could get some help and Ro stepped up. He unloaded the box from my car, took care of the exchange, helped me find a new box of tiles (and we checked for damage this time) and walked me back out and loaded the box into my trunk. This place is wonderful for those who want to do their own home improvements. They have fabulous prices and a decent variety of neutral tile, flooring, cabinets, bathroom supplies, and beautiful doors. They also have a separate lumber yard that is so big, one drives through it. If you are thinking of remodeling a kitchen or bathroom or generally just need to do some repairs, this is the place to visit for great prices on new supplies. What's even better is that the employees there are really nice and knowledgeable, even the security guard at the entrance greets everyone with a smile. Very angry at this store. Ordered some shower door out of stock (so my contractor could pick up with the receipt without me when it arrived). I was told it would arrive next Friday. And this "next Friday" thing was told to me more than 4 times, weeks after weeks. What made things worse was: I finally couldn't afford the wait and cancelled the order in person in store on Oct 30. But the credit never appeared on my credit card, so after 2-3 weeks, I visited the store in person and inquired about this credit. The representative seemed helpful, found out the cancellation record and told me it might take a little more time for my credit card company (Amex) to process the credit and there was nothing wrong at HD-supply side. But the credit never appeared. As I can feel from other transaction, Amex posts merchant credit pretty quickly. It shouldn't have taken so long. Therefore on Dec 1 I submitted a dispute indicating the transaction was cancelled due to out-of stock for a long time. I hope this could ring HD-supply a bell and they could credit me properly. I was wrong, here was what response Amex forwarded to me from HD-supply, really annoying and ridiculous: "No cancellation possible, cash and carry POS transaction, no order, customer purchased product at register and walked out with it. Product has to be returned to receive refund." Can I say hd-suply was lying or was extremely nonprofessional? * "no cancellation" but I did cancel in person and they could have looked up the cancellation records * "walked out with it" but the product was out-of-stock for weeks! and they could have looked up the product inventory/selling records Either way, a very annoying shopping experience: "Next Friday" for weeks － Cancel - Inquiry and no problem at their side - Dispute - "walked out with it". read more

We are building a deck and after looking and calling about 10 lumberyard, we finally settled on hd supply. they were the only one who confirmed for me that the treated lumber they have is indeed ground contact (.40), their con heart redwood is half the price of the average lumberyard prices, and even lower than lowes. We paid 75 dollars for them to deliver, and we didnt like the quality of a few of them. they replaced the ones we dont like and did not charge extra for the returning trips. it was always so easy to get a hold of the workers, i never got transfered more than once in the past 5-6 times i called them (unlike lowes, just asking if their treated lumber is ground contact grade was impossible -- i got transfered about 5 times before i got pissed and gave up). the delivery man is always nice and courteous. The quality of the lumber looks good so far, but we will see how well they hold up! read more

First of all an old guy with a pony tail is rude af ,the wood is very bad very crooked chipped and has a lot of mold. I as a contractor would not use their wood to build houses. Their always out of stock and don't want to restock when they have many piles in the back. Bad customer service very strict and unhelpful. Even the bathrooms are very old and dirty. Looks like they never get cleaned. No wonder it's always empty, This place SUCKS! We live in Santa Clara but have never noticed this warehouse look-alike store actually a retail as well. We went in and tried browsing. It's not like Home Depot that have everything, but rather like TJ Max type for home supplies that you can only find what they have. We bought 2 items. I placed an order for two doors. A few days later I received notice on the site that the product was delivered when if fact it was not. I reached out to HD and was told there was some sort of problem with the delivery. They couldn't give me any specifics but said they would cancel that order and start a new order. I agreed and placed the second order on a different card. The next day I noticed I had been charged for the first order. I reached out and was told that a refund would be issued with in five business days. I wasn't thrilled but agreed to wait. A few days later their site reflected that the second order had been delivered. It had not so I reached out to HD again. Guess what...they had no idea where my product was and wanted to cancel the order and reorder. This time I declined the offer and asked for the order to be cancelled and my original charge to be reversed. The next day I noticed that no credit had been applied to my first card, but they charged the second card. Another call to HD and they told me that the refund on both cards would be there within a few days. Now over two weeks have passed and no refund. I just called and the rep could give me no answers and told me she would transfer the call to a special help line. Now they filed a complaint with management that they told me will be responded to in 24-48 hours. I am shocked by their lack of concern and total disregard for not only the funds that they have kept, but also for my time as this ordeal required me to reschedule the work three times and the additional time I have spent calling them. I will never do business with this company again and black listed them with all of our property management companies. read more

Pretty cheap place compared to the overpriced Home Depot. If you know what you're doing and what you're looking for, this is definitely a must visit spot in order to save some dough. If you're a first time DIY-er though, this isn't the place for you. You're pretty much left to yourself until it's time to check out. For the larger items (fences, wood, etc.), you can roll your car into the actual warehouse, load it up, and then roll out to the exit where a person will hand you a slip to take to make a payment. You can either make a payment in the actual store just next door in the same lot (not much more than 50 feet away) or there is an attendant at the gate where you can also make the payment. read more

I greeted by Juneli and explained to her what I needed. She looked thru and completed my whole order. She had questions on a few of the items and talked to my contractor and to the house.framer (translated for me as well) and got all questions answered. She exemplified suburb customer skills and dedication to the customer. She completed the order and explained step by step what to do to complete the order. The prices here were great and the selection is awesome. A lot better than Home Depot or Lowes. A lot of the reviews say customer service here is bad but Juneli did a extraordinary job and made my time there worry free.
