What a great experience from start to finish. I was in the market to get my A/C unit maintenance since I had never had it done before. So I called Controlled Comfort HVAC and got in contact with Greg(Owner). Greg was professional and extremely knowledgeable of his craft. He explained to me in great detail what the maintenance work consisted of and answered all my questions I had. So there and then, I decided to book an appointment. On service day, Christian the technician showed up on time, whom demonstrated professionalism and great knowledge base, explained to me maintenance process and then got right to work. This rating represents our experience over several service calls during the last two years. They were excellent in helping us install new ducting and replacing a couple of bad parts in our 25-year-old furnace system. They were timely, efficient and candid about what services were needed and what our alternatives were. However, when our when our fan conked out over New Year's weekend, our experience was not so great. Greg declined to come out and instead told us to hire a roofing company to inspect our roof cap and repair a potential leak that he was certain to be the cause. In fact there was no leak. Another HVAC company came out and easily replaced a bad capacitor and our heater churned back to life. I don't blame Greg for not wishing to come out on a holiday. But to ask us to spend potentially hundreds of extra dollars for a problem that he wouldn't come to verify is poor business practice. I wouldn't write a negative review for some minor issues but this could have cost us a lot of unnecessary expense. I believe that they are honest and professional and their services are great for many customers. But that will be the end for us. read more

My coworker referred me to Controlled Comfort. I needed to replace my ducts because I recently had a new system installed and it wasn't working as I expected. Greg came out and was able to tell me that my ducts were in bad condition, and advise me of other issues I had with my system. He spent a lot of time inspecting my system. My partner and I noticed our wall heater's flames being more orange/yellow than normal & Controlled Comfort came out to check out the CO levels. At first it seemed like it needed a cleaning, but when they took it apart to clean it they found a giant crack, meaning it needed to be completely replaced. I recently renovated my home and added a new central HVAC system. I used my independent contractor's guy to install it. When my family moved back into our home we realized that the system was not working properly downstairs, we weren't getting any heat from the vents downstairs. I called several different people to try to come repair/diagnose the issue since it is a brand new unit. Nobody was able to correctly fix the issue then I came across Controlled Comfort. I requested an appointment through yelp and immediately got a response and phone call from Greg. Greg was very nice and sent his tech Alex the next day to check out my HVAC unit. Alex was on time and great, he told me the system may need some re-wiring which is causing the issue. I spoke to Greg and he said he would come check out the wiring issue and came the same week. Greg was on time and very nice, he spent time several hours at my house trying to figure out the issue as he did not install the unit. Unlike the other HVAC companies I had come check it out, Greg was able to figure out the issue and fix it properly. Now we are finally getting heat down stairs and my family is very thankful for Greg and Controlled Comfort. Do not hesitate and go with these guys, they are great! read more

I would like to tell the story of my experience with Controlled Comfort HVAC. I got 3 different estimates on a mini split 9000 BTU unit with installation, choosing Controlled Comfort over the others for their great price and the charm of the estimator. $2,500, being $2,200 for the unit and $300 for the electrical. They were scheduled for the following week. Two days before the install date I receive a call from Greg the owner. He claims that the estimate was wrong and he wants another $600. Mind you it's the hottest day of the year so far. I don't understand his business practices and it seemed unfair to me. I agreed to pay the electoral work separately from the installation thinking it would cost $300 as per the estimate. He sent me an electrician who charged me $650. Greg charged me $2500 for the unit and installation, so I paid him $300 more than it should have cost due to the fact that the unit should have cost $2200 since I paid the electrician separately. The eclectic work was not done properly and he needed to come back the next day to fix it. In the end the Daikin Mini Split cools the room if I keep it on 62 degrees for about 25 minutes. The room is 250sq ft. I paid $3150. The men who did the install were great, but I would never recommend this company because of their business antics. read more

I think I've found our new go to air conditioning service. We had been using another vendor to service and maintain our air conditioning and heating system since it was installed 5 years ago. The air conditioning system never seemed to work correctly from the start and it's efficiency just kept declining despite being serviced twice a year.
