I have been to this cookout around 10 times over the last semester and they have gotten my order right one time. Every time I order a Cajun chicken sandwich I have to eat it without the top bun because they always put mayonnaise on it. It just seems they cannot get an order correct. I was disappointed. The burger was on par with what I've gotten at a blue million concession stands. The serving of slaw was tiny, and I received exactly 4 onion rings as my other side. Both tasted great but were just not enough. All atmosphere and no product. read more

The staff are extremely rude. On numerous visits, an African American female (no, this is not a race thing... Just hoping employer will be able to identify her) at the drivethru window never even looked at me or said anything whatsoever and huffed, scowled and rolled her eyes when I asked for ketchup and mustard (I don't think that's asking too much?!). 4/5 times my order was incorrect. I have never written a review for any restaurant before, but I have been treated so terribly on several occasions that I figured I needed to let people know. I'm in town on business and my hotel doesn't have a restaurant. Cookout is in the parking lot and without a car-my options were a bit limited. Food is tasty (for fast food) prices were good and service was fast. The menu is a bit overwhelming if you haven't been there before but the young woman behind the counter was very friendly. read more

This place couldn't get your order right to save their lives. I mean it is the absolute worst restaurant I have EVER experienced in that regard. I'm talking so wrong it is obvious you were given another person's order. I don't think the double drive through concept at this restaurant is very well managed or thought out and it is completely outside of the worker's ability to run it. If you ask for toppings(or no mayo) on your burger or chicken sandwich, save your breath. Not happening. This place is absolutely one of the best values for a burger. However, there is no possible way your order will be right. Don't bother with the drive thru unless you are just grabbing a shake. I have gone three times with three or four people from work and not one order has ever been right. Took my wife once and it looked promising until she bit into the onions she specifically left off. This place leaves a lot to be desired. My visit was disappointing; nothing special at all here. Indeed, they are a fast food place. I tried it because they boast a selection of hot dogs, but none were the Chicago hot dog I was looking for. (Have no clue if theirs was all beef.) The cheese on my bacon and cheese hotdog was squeeze cheese, processed goop I wonder if they place a slice of "real "cheese on the hamburger? The menu is an expanded version of any other mundane fast food burger place. They have failed to carve out a good niche, so I don't know why they're in existence! From the comments below, perhaps it's the cheap food, none of which is memorable. There were no mustard packets, the ketchup packets were kept separately at the cashier and not where other condiments were found; their unsweet tea remained out, even after I politely reminded them. They had no lemon wedges for their tea. The sides were disappointing. Nothing more than a list of frozen stock onion rings, fries and the likes. Nothing different or signature about this place. Yes, they had a larger list of burgers than some, nothing about Cookout would have me going back. Certainly not the log cabin look walls! I'll stick with A&W on this level! This place opened in my neighborhood last fall, and every night it looked packed, so I thought that they must be doing something right. We went to check it out. The concept of the menu is amusing, at least. After the cashier explained the concept of the "tray," I said, "So, what you're saying is, I can order a quesadilla with a quesadilla on the side?" He said yes. LOL. That didn't really make sense to me, but after I got my food in a styrofoam box, I guess it did. This stuff is cheap! If you want to eat some cheap food, this is the place for you. Luckily I can afford to spend a few more bucks and go somewhere where my dinner is served on a plate...or even a *fancy* plastic tray! Like imagine if you survived a natural disaster and were staying at the community center, and everybody lined up to get a boxed dinner from the Red Cross. That's what the food here reminds me of. If you're a vegetarian, or if you hate the thought of all that styrofoam going into landfills, don't come here. read more

Food was ok, but not great. First and probably last time I try it. Nothing special. Drive thru speakers very poor. Couldn't understand employee on the other side, and they obviously couldn't understand me as the order was wrong. Every time my boyfriend and I come here to eat we always leave having had poor service and an awful experience. It seems that every other time we come through the drive thru our order is messed up in some way or another. Not only that but if you call to complain about your messed up food you will speak with a manager named Andrew who has never been anything but rude and unwilling to solve the problem. I have called multiple times in order to have my food remade the way that it was ordered and i always get the same manager who claims to put my name and my order down in what he called a replacement book and that i could come anytime and expect my order to be made correctly without charge due to the mess up the first time. I've worked in fast food for years so i understand that mistakes happen and am very forgiving when it comes to my order not being correct by the time i get home. When i went to cookout the second time i ordered my food the same way as i did the last time and told the person who was taking my order over the speaker that i had a free meal on Andrew that he had my name written down in a replacement book. The person at the window asked me to pull up to the window and acted like they didn't believe me. Upon pulling to the window i was greeted by none other than Andrew himself who claimed to never have spoken to me before and suggested i was lying. Eventually it came down to me paying for my order even though i was told it would redeemed but promised that he would make my NEXT meal free. I have not been back since. read more

So I've been going to Cook Out for the past two years now. For the most part, they have been on time and correct with the order I placed. It is honestly very surprising how accurate Cook out typically is, considering how many intoxicated people they deal with on a nightly basis. Unfortunately, this past week I experienced the worst possible service. It was around 10:30 P.M. on a Friday night, so naturally, the college crowd was in full effect when I entered the drive-thru. I was in the line and it was my turn to order. I was greeted by a rude "What do you want?" expression followed by a loud screeching noise form a malfunction on the microphone. Strike one. After I ordered my go-to meal of a tray with quesadilla and hush puppies with an Oreo Mint shake, I asked the woman to read back my order for confirmation. She then proceeded to read back a completely wrong order. Strike two. After I had to correct the woman and start over with my order, I drove up to the second window ready to pay. I was in a hurry and had places to be, so I really did not have much time to wait around for my food. After getting my food and returning home, I quickly found out that they screwed up my entire order. My tray had everything on it, when I made sure to tell them I wanted it plain. Then, they gave me double the fries instead of the quesadilla and hush puppies. Then they forgot to put mint in my shake, leaving it as only Oreo. Strike three, four, five and six! I really do not understand how you can mess up an order that bad. I understand that errors happen in the food industry. But not to this level. It was completely unacceptable and I will be taking a break from Cook Out for quite some time. read more
