A huge disappointment I live in Raleigh and I am familiar with the concept after telling everyone about what a great hamburger, what I received was anything but great, first of all I did NOT ask for ONION and what did I receive but a big fat a.. Slice of onion, I expect frozen fries and onion rings here , but my nephew ordered a combo plate with a burger, chicken nuggets and fries , well chicken nuggets were frozen and mystery meat, also had to look for a clean table and girl at counter taking order seemed to be confused, I suggest management at cookout go to raising canes and check out cleanliness quality of food and outstanding service you could learn a lot I would rate Canes as the best fast food restaurant I have tried but then they hand bread and cook to order the chicken tenders! read more

I can't believe the bad reviews of this place. They have the best burgers!!! Better than 5 guys! Better than In and Out (if your familiar with the chain on the west coast). So went here for a quick lunch with a friend.THEY HAVE A HUGE MENU WITH A GREAT SELECTION ! My food was great I got a cookout tray with a cheeseburger made to order two casidias chicken , and a drink . They also are VERY FAIR PRICED. I ONLY PAID LIKE $5BUCKS FOR THE WHOLE MEAL. This place is absolutely amazing. Burgers are great. One thing I really love is the simple bun. I want to taste the burger, not the bread! Other places fail here, but Cook Out excels. Under the bun you can select from a huge variety of toppings. Fries are very good, but the shakes. Oh my, the shakes! I thought the burger was the best thing until I had the shake. It's hard to decide which one is better. Fortunately you don't have to. Over 40 different kinds of shake, your only problem will be choosing which one to try first. Gave me the wrong food than what I ordered and gave me a watered down coke. Didn't realized till I got all the way home about 15 minutes away went back to replace meal and they only fixed one item and gave me the original food I ordered that was cold and the staff was not friendly and seemed like they were more concerned with their conversation than work. I've given this place 3 tries and the best thing I can say about it is it was clean. The prices aren't bad until u starting asking for things. Cheese was $0.80 and a cup of water was $0.35. When cookout first came to Lexington I wasn't too fond of the food but LOVED the milkshakes. Once I discovered the hush puppies I fell in love. The fact you can get 12 for 99 cents is the best thing involving food that could happen! Then I decided to get the box with quesadillas, spicy chicken sandwich, and hush puppies and now I'm hooked. I moved here about a year ago. And this place is the first place I ate at in Lex. I loved it to begin with and 100% would've given it 5 stars. But lately, it's been super subpar. This is a great change of pace from someone who doesn't live near these restaurants. We stopped here on our road trip home because we had heard good things about it when we were visiting south. This specific one was clean and very nice. The staff were friendly-ish and not very well-informed; seemed like a lot of younger workers, which could explain this. The best part about this place is that it's made fresh and extremely cheap! We shared a combo meal (also known as a "tray" here). You get a sandwich choice, two sides and a drink for about $5.50! We found it pretty hilarious that you can get a corn dog and chicken nuggets as your sides, but this is probably a great choice for a family with small kids! We all had burgers, cheddar style, which means cheddar cheese, bacon and onions + fries. Everything was delicious. I couldn't foresee myself eating here all the time if I had one near me; it's a lot of greasy food, but I would definitely eat here again when visiting. read more

Hello. Today I visited the restaurant location in Lexington Kentucky on South Broadway. My best friend and I have had weekly dates to this restaurant every Sunday. It has become our thing. Well because of the current situation we could not eat inside of the store. So we each went through the drive-through in our own cars and ate in our cars with the window down so we could talk to each other. He was in front of me and he ordered his food and got through the drive-through. I came up behind him and when I pulled up to the window I could hear your employees saying bad things about him. He has issues with stuttering and he sometimes is not able to communicate very well because of it. They were making fun of him. But that's not all that happened today. When I got to the speaker I asked the girl if you guys were accepting cash right now. She was very sarcastic with me and stated that they always take cash. But because of the Coronavirus a lot of places have stopped accepting cash so I do not feel like that was a stupid question. But her and the male employee were too busy flirting to pay attention to the customers. I asked for sauce and received none. And at the window they did not even acknowledge me. They were so busy flirting with each other that he just handed me my stuff and was not listening to me at all and didnt even look at me. I said thank you and he acted as if I was not even there. This kind of sucks because I love it there but I can't stand for someone making fun of my best friend especially since they don't know he has communication issues. He sometimes is afraid to speak because he is self conscious of his stutter. On top of completely being ignored, having the sarcasm and the lack of any tact. I hate to say we wont be back. The way those 2 at the window acted was awful. I've never had that behavior from your employees before. I would have let all of it go, but I cant let go that they made fun of him. I want to love this place. When they get the order right it is so good. I really think there must be a major issue with their drive thru microphone because I have never gotten the correct order. Ever. And you can't ask for them to fix anything because the employees are sooo rude and aloof. I keep going back solely due to proximity. The soda is always "out" when you order a sprite you're getting soda water. I've gotten other people's orders 4 times out of 10 and when it is my order it's wrong. You simply cannot make small changes to any burger (like asking for no tomato or something). Cheese quesadillas always have chicken in them. I just want what I order. Every time. This is a great place for a quick bite for lunch and it's super cheap. I also recommend if you have an extra few minutes ask for your food to be dropped fresh and you will get it nice and hot with out spending extra.
