Weird text exchange- he knew this was for my engagement party and made a weird joke about getting invited...

Do not bother with them. Completely unprofessional, barely have their phone on half the time. I had ordered for a party, confirmed a few times and tried getting the address multiple times with no answer- on the day of the pickup, I waited hours for a response (the text didn't go through until 11ish because they don't have their phone on)- pickup was set for before 2pm- he finally responds around 1pm saying he won't be there until 5pm. We had experienced issues previously via Postmates and DoorDash orders where we would order, and after waiting about an hour, the order would get canceled. We chalked this up to being such a small business that operates out of another restaurant and decided to order for our party anyways thinking the issue wouldn't happen if we were ordering directly. Ended up having to solve this problem on the day of our party. DO NOT TAKE THE CHANCE.

While we were looking at the website beforehand, she spotted McConnell's Fine Ice Creams and immediately locked onto it. So the moment we arrived, we went searching for it. When she saw the case full of flavors, she lit up. McConnell's has a great selection, and she loved that you can get your ice cream in a cone, a cup, or her personal favorite; a cup with a cone on top. She chose a small cup of Sprinkle Cake with a sugar cone, and she was over the moon. The team working there was incredibly kind and patient with her, which made the experience even better. She took one bite and said the ice cream was "wicked good." She's officially a fan. McConnell's made her day, and that alone makes it worth the stop.

The passion fruit was refreshing, with a bright, fruity flavor that wasn't too sweet. The Earl Grey is my favorite. The place is super small and no line, but the flavors were plentiful. I forget what they do, but you can get a combo of flavors in a single scoop. Then, an eternity ago, it closed and we were sad. Then Long Beach Creamery opened and we weren't that sad for that long, but still, I absolutely still thought about them every once in a while, sad that they'd left. Then, a much closer eternity ago (about a year ago - I've been super burned-out and not finishing my reviews), I was on my way from an event back to the blue line and walked by and noticed that they had, in fact, just moved. So obviously we had to get some. Verdict - yes, it absolutely was as good as I remembered. I wouldn't go back to DTLA just for ice cream, Long Beach Creamery being walking distance and wonderful, but I would absolutely stop here if I were back in DTLA and wanted ice cream. It's a bit pricey, but all craft ice cream is going to be, and it is definitely craft. And you can save a lot by getting a 3-scoop, which is very much enough to share for two people, if not slightly too much.

There's a couple counter seats inside, but it's usually bustling and busy the weekends I can make it out to Little Tokyo, so it's something I eat while wandering outside or just walking around. My classic has always been the standard Honeymee. True milk ice cream soft serve with the honey comb. Super sweet honey and you'd think the honey comb isn't enough for that huge serving of ice cream, but you'd be surprised. The drizzle goes a long way and it's sweet enough to balance out the pure milkiness of the soft serve. Suck on the honey comb, chew through it throughout (kinda gross I know), and just spit out the waxy remnants when you're done. More than enough. Maybe one day I'll try more, but that's my nostalgic favorite.

It's a lightly creamy soft serve topped with a chunk of honeycomb, which adds a nice texture and just the right amount of sweetness. I've tried some of their other flavors before, but they were a bit too sweet for my taste. The signature Honeymee, however, is much more balanced, and the honeycomb pairs perfectly with the soft serve without overpowering it. They also offer a variety of drinks, and if you ask, they're happy to provide samples of the soft serve base before you order. Overall, a refreshing treat that I'd happily come back for.
