The drive-through speaker at this location is so loud that it is actually painful to the ears and seems to disrupt the ability of the employees to hear what you're saying. In addition, today we went there and were treated so rudely by the person at the window that we asked to speak to a manager, who then came out and also treated us rudely. Finally, all of the orders were incorrect . Avoid this location like the plague and save your money. Also, you can't actually call the store, they just provide an 800 number that is apparently staffed by a Voicemail box. We don't have this chain where we live so we stop by when we are in the area and on the go. Plus they sponsored the Richmond Raceway NASCAR race. I don't usually like to leave negative reviews, but I really felt this needed to be said. The staff at this Cook Out location is consistently rude and dismissive. I'm not even a confrontational person, so I try to stay patient -- but this last experience was just unacceptable. I ordered a Cajun chicken sandwich, and not only did they mess up my order, but the piece of chicken they gave me was so tiny it was almost laughable. The staff was so rude that I couldn't even bring myself to go back and say anything. I just left feeling frustrated and disrespected. And it may not be the absolute best fried chicken I've ever had, or the best burger, but I know exactly what I'm getting. And they deliver. Cookout is Consistent, and it's inexpensive. There's always a line wrapped around the building, but they're quick so it's not really an issue. And really, when you want one, there's nothing else that will settle the craving for a cheddar style hamburger and hush puppies. The shakes are a whole different level. Burger was decent but something seemed off putting about it and the corn dog was room temperature. I think this place had potential but I question the level of cleanliness. They also have the ability to have transparent windows like In-n-out burgers but choose to black out these windows which has you questioning what is really going on in the background. I ordered two mint Oreo shakes. When I got the first one, I noticed it looked like a regular Oreo shake, but didn't give anymore thought to it. I got the second one and noticed it was very green. I pulled up from the window so the next customer can pay for their order. I tasked the first one and it was a plain Oreo shake. Fresh outta Philly I HAD to stop by Cookout to enjoy some good ol polite fast food. The service vibe is completely different from the Philly area. They said "please take your time," and "thank you," I almost thought I died and went to heaven (okay I'm being dramatic). It's been years since I've been to Cookout but they are still 100% legit to me. The menu can be a bit intimidating if you're new to the spot but take your time and any choice is your best choice. I have tried cookout twice now and both times were great. No issues, hot food, and decent prices. The drive-thru lines can be pretty lengthy but considering the times we are in during this pandemic, patience is definitely needed these days. So I don't trip about long waits anymore when I know the food is going to be good. The burgers were super delicious, the cheese fries were excellent, the nuggets were hot & tasty, and the milkshakes are to die for! One of my friends told me about this place and how the burgers here are good. I finally decided to get eat here. I got 1 regular burger, 1 BBQ sandwich, and fries. i had ordered 6 trays for my family. when i had gotten home i checked the drinks and they all were correct . then i went to the trays. out of the 6 they only got 3 correct. 3 of the trays were missing their quesadillas but they had doubled up on the fries i guess they couldn't wait for the food to cook so they just slapped fries in the trays. besides the orders being wrong, the food was decent. The fries were good but the chicken was overcooked. if you want any sauce you'll have to ask but when you do be very specific on how many you want. if you get 4 trays and ask for honey mustard they'll only give you two. which is not enough for all the food especially if you love the honey mustard like me. read more

Worst run location ever. Food is good but like other reviewers has said, this particular restaurant needs to take some pride and get their act together. Dining room closed, drive through only. Be prepared to wait 20 minutes in line if there are more than 4 cars ahead of you. And don't use the right lane drive through....stick to the left! About 4 cars make it through the left side and get served for every one car that gets served at the right. What a joke....find another Richmond area location if you are jonesing for a Cookout.
