Worst service of any cookout ever. I don't go regularly, but I stay nearby for business, and when in town I like the milkshakes for a treat. I have never waited less than 10 minutes for food here, but tonight I was particularly frustrated. Why have two drive thru windows when you can't keep up with one. After almost 15 minutes in line, 5 of them sitting at the order board, I finally get a response...the drive thru person says "can you give me a minute"...I already gave you 15 what's the difference? They don't listen to you when you give your order, so you have to repeat yourself. When I got cheesecake they forgot to give it to me and when I came back the bag was crumpled and had a used vinyl glove in the bag. :( I think they might have thrown it into the trash and then pulled it back out. that's the only explanation I can think of. I love cookout but this one in particular just needs to work on their customer service. Their food is good but I had to wait about 10 minutes at their drive thru window for a BLT and a corn dog. Nice place. Good flavored burgers. Cheap meals. Great shakes. It's a teen hangout at night though. The drive through was packed! We ate in and the order was done quickly. Great coleslaw. Now why did I take off a star? Well two reasons: No military discount. That's always grounds for one star off. And, vey cool in there on a summer night. I felt we needed jackets. Cannot believe this is my first visit! Was at car wash and the smells were fabulous so i decided to go through the drive thru because I hungry, and it was just calling me. Got the burger platter, came with generous portion of fries a chicken quesadia and a drink for only 4.99. I was able to choose my toppings and it was perfect. The fries were hot and the quesadia was hot and melty. Employees were helpful guiding me on what to do, friendly and never rushed me as I looked through all of the options. If you're on a budget and don't mind scarfing down lots of fried foods (burgers, too) this is the place for you. CookOut is alright- the staff is quick and efficient. Two things I like about this place are the unique, customizable milkshake options (my favorite is Orange Push Up- Oreo is a close second) and the fact that they serve Cheerwine (a sweet, Southern soda staple) on tap. They are also open late, which is a plus. I normally don't go inside to eat, but I have a few times; every time I've eaten inside the establishment it has been clean and the lines are never long. Getting a tray meal is your best bet if you're hungry and don't have that much dough to spend on lunch/dinner/midnight snack. You can get your choice of a 1/4 lb. burger, barbeque sandwich, hotdog, double burger, any variation of a chicken sandwich (spicy, regular or cajun) or chicken quesadilla, along with two side options from a plethora of choices that include fries, chicken nuggets and hush puppies for around $5.00. They always mess up my food. I asked for a two hot dog tray with mustard and ketchup on one of the hot dogs. The girl who took my order read it back correctly but when I got my food not only was there mustard and ketchup on both hot dogs but the hot dogs were disgusting. This place has gotten to be an absolute nightmare. They never used to screw my order up, they were always friendly, and it always tasted great. Now, it's litteraly the exact opposite in all areas. They are rude as shit, they act like your bothering them by just showing up to order. They are just a bunch of idiot high-school kids who play around, and would rather talk to each other. Why did they start hiring such low-tier employees? Last 3 times I've ordered, they have forgotten somthing, or just went all out and gave me the wrong order. No "sorry" or even a "thank you". They just hand your corrected order to you, saying nothing, making no eye contact, even when I said "thanks". The food used to taste great, now it seems that the burgers and nuggets are always burnt, and the burgers have also gotten smaller in the past year or so. There's nowhere to complain online, or on the receipt, so instead of bitching on yelp, I wanted to first try talking to the manager. One thing I've noticed about CookOuts in general is the food is just okay. It fills a need for cheap and greasy fast food, nothing earth shattering. Love the cheese fries, corn dogs, and hush puppies. The burgers are another thing entirely. This CookOut is a particular offender for not quite getting the burger up to snuff. When my husband and I went here recently, I noticed that my burger looked a little small. I had ordered one of the larger burgers but what they gave me isn't reminiscent to what I've received before when I've ordered this same burger be it here or at other CookOuts. Add to the fact that the burger was under seasoned and bacon looked damn-near raw. I think it's safe to say that I'm finally over CookOut burgers. You're probably asking yourself why didn't I send it back? My answer for you is have you seen the movie Waiting? The kids behind that counter didn't look like they were in the mood for the fat chick to complain that her burger wasn't big enough and I wasn't in the mood to have my burger garnished with spit or dust bunnies. Great food but service was super slow. I waited an hour or more for my food. They also kept mixing up my order and they were leaving things off. It was also really dirty inside. And a lot of people working there were just standing there doing nothing. So overall it's cheap it tastes good but it's super slow and dirty so if your looking for a quick snack I would rethink it. read more

I have been a huge fan of Cook Out since I moved to the east coast. However, with that being said if you are looking for quality in food and customer service do not, I repeat DO NOT visit the Midlothian location. Unless of course you want to sit in the drive-through for 15-20 minutes and have your order wrong. I eagerly awaited for this location to open and have dined in as well as gone through the drive through on multiple occasions. Never once has my order been right the first time and the staff does not understand the meaning of 'diced' onion, even when you tell them it's the same ones they put on the hotdogs. I even had an employee tell me that they don't have diced onions. Each time I visit I try to reason that it's new and trying to get it's rhythm down. The honeymoon period is over and I will not be returning to this location. If you want a good Cook-Out meal take the extra 5-10 minutes you would be sitting in the drive-through at the Midlothian location and go to the Eastridge location. read more

I passed by this place so many times and never gave it much thought. I stopped with my MIL and my little one. We all loved the burgers. The chicken nuggets weren't that great but the milkshakes makes up for it. They have the best milkshakes I have every had. Everyone was pleased! read more

Their drive thru is horrible. I cant understand what they are saying on the speakers and they always get my order wrong. I ask for a BBQ sandwich with no Texas Pete, but keep the slaw, and I either get Texas Pete and no slaw, or no Texas Pete and no slaw. The people that work in the lobby are very rude as well.
