A new favorite spot in Kihei. They have adult milkshakes and they are delicious. I recommend sharing them because if you don't, you won't have room for food. Pretty extensive menu selection. I seem to get the burgers more often than anything else, but they also have amazing ribs, fall off the bone ribs. I was not disappointed with the steak and ribs. Looks like they have delicious sundaes but I am usually too full after my meal to try. Will have to come some time just for the banana split. A waiter at my hotel recommended this place to me and we went for lunch on our last day. It was packed when we arrived so we sat at the bar to avoid waiting to be seated . Waiter quickly got us some drinks. We enjoyed them. I got an opah fish sandwich and enjoyed it. I had never had opah before. It was really bland and not very fishy. Well I am very nostalgic, because the location on Front St. was one of my favorite spots on Maui. The burgers, top notch. The food is so good and always consistent! Our kids love it and so do we. I get my burger lettuce wrapped and it's so good! Shakes are amazing and so many options. I'm so happy to see this place reopen. It was one of our regular hangouts in Lahaina, so of course we had to try here. They actually managed to make it better in many ways. We walked in the door and were welcomed by a young man who was the perfect host, genuinely warm, welcoming, and happy. You need to keep this guy! First impressions matter, and he was absolutely textbook perfect. The food is right on par with Lahaina, awesome fresh burgers, cooked perfectly! All our old favorites were there and just as great as always. Our server was fantastic, attentive, and fun. The atmosphere is never going to be the same if you aren't in an open environment, overlooking the courthouse, with all the birds, etc. That being said, it's still a lively fun place with a little arcade for the kids. Food was amazing but the server was absolutely disgusting. Her name is Kellie O. She was very rude to me and my friends. All we wanted was a relaxing dinner but got a horrible waitress that made us feel very uncomfortable. Didn't give us any eye contact while ordering our order and gave very short responses like "yup", "mhm" , and "sure". Honestly the worst customer service I ever experienced. I hope the owners see this post and correct her behavior. I definitely won't be eating here again until she leaves this establishment. read more

I grew up on Maui, moved to the mainland as a teenager and haven't been back since so perhaps this review is more due to the sentimental memories I have tied to this island, but sentimental feelings aside, this is a great place to sit and have some food. Do expect a wait (you're in a high traffic tourist spot) but take the wait time to walk around and check out some shops or just stare at the beach. The Don Ho burger is the best burger I've had in a very very long time. And this ain't your typical mainland "Hawaiian" burger. It's legit. And it tastes like my childhood. I was actually sad when I finished this burger (it was that good- I didn't want it to ever end) so went twice before heading back home to the freezing cold vortex of snow many people refer to as Colorado. For those that care more about food than my trip down memory lane (re: all of you) I was especially thankful to find that the gluten free bun was great in both taste and texture- it did not overwhelm the burger and while I typically have to pay extra to find that the burger tastes better without the gluten free bun, this bun was a perfect complement which is RARE in the gluten free hamburger bun world. Two thumbs up. Highly recommend. Our first trip back since the '23 fire. It is so strange to see them in Kihei and not Lahaina. However I am so glad the owner was able to rebuild and keep his team. Look, the food isn't gonna blow your mind. However it is really good and by Maui standards, affordable! Tonight the wife had a Luna Burger which she loved. My wife rarely finishes a plate that is put in front of her, and this one she did. I had the Baja fish tacos - fish was cooked to perfection - watch out as it sure felt like they had some jalapeño in that pico - all ingredients were fresh and tasted great. Our server was excellent. Very personable and gave the right level of attention throughout. I guess the nostalgic part of me can hold out hope that some day I will once again be able to enjoy a meal here while looking at the Banyan Tree and down the future version of Front Street.... read more

Visited the new location in Kihei a few days after the re-opening. Food is better than I remember! I'm so happy they found their new home in Kihei, and plan on visiting often. A nice american restaurant with a Hawaiian twist! I got the Bogy Burger - very juicy bacon burger with a sweet Maui onion sauce. My friends got the Don ho, which has a sweet teriyaki-style sauce along with a slice of pineapple inside. Both delicious options! The burger was so large that it was hard to fit in our mouths. We also got a basket of fries and a boozy milkshake that satisfied our appetites. The fries were nicely seasoned and large! Good to split between 3-4 people! My friends and I went here after surfing with very little wait and the service was great! The waiters seem happy here and they were quick to serve us. There's nice outdoor patio seating along with a diner-style booth seating inside. Cool Cat is located at the top floor of the Wharf on Front Street. They offer open air and air conditioned dining. We lucked out and got a table by the railing looking out at Front Street,  the Banyan Tree, and the Lahaina Harbor.  It's a great spot for food, drinks,  adult milkshakes, and live entertainment.   There are signs posted throughout the restaurant alerting customers to wear their masks when they leave the table.  You can also access their menu using the QR code.  The menu is extensive- shared plates,   burgers, vegetarian, chicken, fish options,  kids menu, salads, beef hot dogs, desserts, mocktails, draft beers, and a full bar. There's something for everyone. Cool Cats even does a Burger of the Month.  This month, the Dip was the Burger of the Month- Beef Patty on a Ciabatta roll with swiss cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms, horseradish,  and au jus for dipping. Our friends loved it!  My go to is a Mushroom Swiss Burger. The Jailhouse Rock was HUGE, so glad I requested the burger be cut in half.  The burger was delicious with just enough mushrooms and grilled onions.  Also ordered the Don Ho Burger with lettuce, tomatoes,  onions, and a pickle. Overall, the Don Ho burger with sweet pineapple, bacon, sweet Hawaiian sauce, and added veggies were a hit and our friend was able to eat the large burger.  Cool Cat offers happy hour and live entertainment.  Often times you can find a coupon for Cool Cats at a local shop, activity desks, or the Maui Coupon Gold Book found along Front Street. Take advantage of the offer and stop by Cool Cat Cafe for a meal or drinks.  Service was friendly and quick and the food was nice and hot. Definitely worth a stop when you're in Lahaina. read more

Burger was more of a torta, but was very filling & flavorful. Tacos were good and very filling, but could've used a bit more of dimension? Tortilla and fish were half crispy? Place seemed clean and employees were friendly. Our waiter great. However, I ordered their Philly cheese steak on an Amoroso roll. I could not say it was authentic because sauce was not an option, and I never had a cheese steak in Philly with bell peppers on it. It came with traditional fried onions and shaved rib eye. Besides not having the option to actually have a Philly style, the sandwich was so salty it was practically unedible. Used to go to the restaurant in Lahaina all the time and it was alway packed yet food was good and and the service good. We went to the Kihei one for the first time the other day and it was practically empty at lunch time. Not a good sign. read more

Perfect spot for some great comfort food! My family stopped in for some quick burgers and were pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes and quick food delivery. Ordered some Frings and garlic bread for starters followed by The Duke and Big Bopper as entrees. All the food was cooked perfectly and did not disappoint. I used to love cool cats in Lahaina. However, At this new one, I was served a raw burger. I ordered the big bopper double patty. YOU SHOULD NEVER CONSUME RAW OR UNDERCOOKED MEAT. I will start documenting. Now I'm seeing a doctor for parasite. Should have taken photos and record. Another lesson learned to DOCUMENT EVERYTHING YOU EXPERIENCE. The employees were all laughing at me for sending the RAW burger back and people coming from the kitchen to also laugh. Nightmare experience. Used to love this place. If you want diabolical service this is your place. Here's photo back in Lahaina when it was still good. I will never eat here again and I can't believe they can give people raw meat give them parasites and still be operating! DIABOLICAL again I should have documented. Lesson learned.
