First night in Maui, we were looking for a very casual place to eat dinner. This area of Whalers village is very casual. It is on the bottom floor of Whalers village. We ended up getting a salad from one of the other vendors. My hubbie was still hungry , so ordered the Marilyn burger. Wow, it was soo good, we will be back later in the week. The service was great, very friendly and accommodating.

With a brag sign they have been voted Maui's Best Burger since 2004, I gotta have a burger. I chose the one that seemed most Hawaiian in that it included a slice of pineapple. Apologies if I sound like some tourist, because I am. The burger was called the Don Ho, and along with pineapple it has bacon, BBQ sauce, and cheese. And it was a very good sandwich. They also offer milkshakes, both specialty and build your own. I did spend time considering but finally decided to pass, this has already been a calorie laden trip. It did sound so good though. My order taker was very nice and we chatted for a minute. The food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. Cool Cat Express is located at the Whalers Village in a food court area with common seating. They validated my parking garage ticket.

Right to left: Don Ho cheeseburger , two hula chicken sandwiches

Perfect fast food joint in in very close proximity to the resort we are staying at however if you choose to drive whalers village has a huge parking lot the charges by the hour. Super filling burgers, full of flavor and just an overall hit the spot kind of meal. My son ordered the Don Ho cheeseburger and we ordered the Hula chicken burgers. We ordered only one small fry and we all shared it this was enough for all of us. All items are à la carte so fries do not come with any meal. Our total meal was around $60.00 We did not get milkshakes but they did look delicious so we might have to try one soon. Overall if your looking for a quick meal to fill you up so you can stay in the go this is a good spot nothing super gourmet but still flavorful and fast! Service was great cashier was kind. Ambiance is busy bright and tight , no one served you all orders are to go here as they share the space with 3 other food vendors. Lots of seating outside for a more quieter atmosphere.

This place needs no introduction. A Front Street loved restaurant that has found a new express corner at Whaler's Village food court. (Main restaurant now in Kihei) The favorites for burgers, chicken burgers, salads, milkshakes and of course the frings are all available to fill your hungry beach/ hiking bellies. I went during their grand opening and what a beautiful ceremony to bless the new location. LAHAINA STRONG!! I can't say enough about this place. Service is always a 10/10, food is 10/10, spread the word that consistency is a 10/10. I've never had a bad anything from this place. A great restaurant for the whole family. Pop in and stay a while at the inside seating of the food court or take it to go. Parking validation with min. Local Tip: Ask about Kamaʻāina discount

Two stars! Why would a good establishment get popped for an unsatisfactory rating? 1. The cheese burger was like something you would fix at home and I mean that as a compliment. Generous patty, fresh bun, good cheese, generally a home cooked burger. Fries/onion rings were tasty but a tad greasy. Service at first seemed good but then the two stars kick in. I was charged $24.00 for burger and fries/rings. When my cc came up to sign, the tip amount had the "no tip" box which I clicked because I always pay with a $5 bill for this meal in the bucket. While I was waiting for burger, I looked at my bill and they had charged me $3.60 tip even though I had clicked no tip. After I got my burger, I confronted them and they said they had no control of charges. After telling me this 3 times she said she would call to get permission to refund $3.60. I said no and told her I always throw 5 dollar bill in the bucket, the tech guy cost her $1.40. This all sounds cheesy to gripe about but it seems to be a trend in the food industry.LOOK AT YOUR BILL BEFORE YOU LEAVE! Mar.29 Incident has been resolved. They reached out to rectify saying that they don't auto-grat. and will look into it.

Ate there a couple of times while staying in a condo next door to Whalers Village. Hamburgers are good. Milk shakes very pricey.

Perhaps it's because we decided to show up 8 mins before closing, but the food and service were unforgettable in a concerning way. I had asked for my burger with no tomato (twice) and I still managed to receive the *wrong* burger and WITH tomato. We told the cashier our name twice and he still wrote it incorrectly completely. Also worth noting, halfway into my incorrect burger, I noticed a majority of it was pink. I got grossed out and stopped eating it immediately. The burger was not that warm to begin with. The umami fries were good but pretty messy, given the fact we had no napkins for a Togo order. Two burgers and umami fries came out to $50. Absolutely not worth it and not quality ingredients or service. At all. Additionally, the staff member handed our order to somebody else before handing it over to us. The bathroom lock was not operating correctly so you need a buddy system. The bathroom appeared clean, but reeked of urine. I do not recommend this establishment and definitely will not be returning.

A5 Wagyu Smash Burgers? Sign me up everyday of the week!…read more We were staying in the West Side of the island, and saw this place pop up on Yelp and knew I had to give it a try. I went all in and went with the 3x3 which in hindsight was way more than I needed. The meat is rich which means a single or 2x2 is all you need. The crisp on the smash was perfection and the bun was pillowy soft. The sauce complimented everything well. My only regret was not asking if they had Serrano peppers before I ordered bc that would've added a whole other level to an already amazing burger. $30 well spent. If you just look at the menu, you might have sticker shock, but they are using A5 meat for the burgers which is why its higher priced. Compare it to most food in the area, everything is overpriced bc it's touristy, at least at Swagyu you get a quality tasting meal. Worth every dime in my opinion. They have locations in San Diego as well, and all I could think of is how much money I'd spend if they had a spot up in the Bay. Smash burgers done right is so hard to find, if they had one in the Bay I'd be a regular here for sure.

The hostess had us seated at the high table right next to the bathrooms where there were constantly people walking by our table. She claimed there were no other tables available and was not interested in finding an alternative table for us. I have a 10-second video of our little girl blowing out her birthday candle, and we got video-bombed by a lady walking by within that short duration. The food was... okay. The kids got their own dishes, while my husband and I shared the calamari and the whole fish. The calamari was on the softer side if we're being euphemistic, and the whole fish was kind of dry. Our server was lovely, which saved this from being a one-star review. As a place to grab a quick bite, Mala is probably fine though there are better options on this island. As a place where you make a reservation weeks in advance to celebrate a milestone, please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere unless you enjoy the sound of flushing toilets and doors opening/ closing during your meal. Never again.

So today we walked over to check out the Ulu Kitchen located in the Westin Maui. Short walk from the Marriott Maui Ocean Club down the pathway. Our server Brandon happily took our drink order bringing back some amazingly cocktails. The Mai Tai had a decadent foam on top unlike your normal Mai Tai that truly made the cocktail unique. Brandon took our order and we took in the beautiful Kaanapali coast and people watched, our food came and we started with a Tako (octopus) prepared in an escargot style served with house made focaccia bread. Great way to start and the sauce full of garlic and butter. The salad was great with the option of chicken or local fish and I took the fish. The smash burger was da bomb!
