I had to walk out of there halfway through so furious that I couldn't speak. If I could give no stars I would. I've been coming here for about 5 years now... never had an MAJOR incidents except this time. The girl who took care of me, Tina, did a regular pedicure on me per my request, nothing else in specific. She cut an ingrown toenail and ended up cutting it wrong leading to infection. The pain was unbearable and it was hard to even take a step. My toe ended up becoming purple, red, swollen, and numb through out the day. I went to urgent care, got it taken care of, in the process of healing, thankfully. Mind you... she took out the ingrown without asking / informing me and on top of that, salons aren't ALLOWED to remove ingrowns with a knife (now I know). I hate that this happened and do not wish this upon my worst enemy. Please do ur research and please be careful. read more

Came in to soak off my dip/gel color. I specifically told them no drill. The tech just gave me a dish of acetone to dip my fingers in and convinced me to drill off some of the color. After about 3 scrape and soak sessions, I could see the acetone dish was full of gel and everytime I would put my fingers back in, my entire hand and nails would get full of gel. I finally got up to wash my hands and scrape off the gel with my own finger nails which was way more effective. After that, I was so disappointed, I just left. I've been coming here off and on for about seven years now and won't be coming back. The pedicure I got today was kind of rough and when the lady had me pay instead of giving me back my full change she took out what she decided I would tip her. I don't think you should decide what the paying customer should tip you especially if you're not very friendly and you literally had me pulling my foot back in pain from being rough. The second to last time I visited this shop was over 6 months ago because a friend of mine found on her statements that she was overcharged 5 dollars . Not okay. I had not wanted to come back but today was sort of an emergency . Last minute interview for me, and my Grandmother and Uncle going on a month long trip tomorrow... So Cool Nails being the only shop open, We Went . The total for all three of us came out to 120 . Unbelievably My grandmother was charged an extra 10 dollars for using her debit card . My pedicure came out beautiful, but my fingernails, definitely not . The edges are dry with dead skin and not filed well at all . 10 dollars is excessive. I usually go to this salon whenever i wanna get my nails done. The ladies here are so friendly & i've never really had any kind of bad experience here. Until today when i got my nails done by the only man who works here. he was rough the whole time on my cuticles & even made one of them bleed. he also left horrible gaps in my polish. He also left his fingerprint on my polish, noticed & didnt try to fix it at all. His attitude is so different from everyone else here, i do not feel welcome when he's doing my nails. Just walked out. If I could give zero stars I would. I can't even count how many manicures I have gotten over the years. I have never left with bleeding nails. The woman was so hard with the cuticle cutters she removed my skin, not a hang nail. At least four nails are bleeding and one wouldn't stop bleeding they had to put "medicine" on it. I am extremely disappointed at the fact that I have to update my review and express my dissatisfaction with the services here. I have been going to this nail place since I was 18. I've always seen Tina for my nails and I've never had a problem. In the beginning it was a lot of getting used to the type of style I like to have my nails. There could be no excuse Tina could tell me she didn't know how I was and particular I am. I always book my appointments a month in advance. If I change anything, I call ahead of time and confirm if they're able to accommodate. Today I called saying I will be about 15 minutes late. Tina told me she had someone after me and she seemed hesitant and unsure she will get to see me or accommodate me. She asked if I wanted to reschedule. I plan my schedule WAY in advance, so no I had to get it today. I tried to make it work and I came in 9 mins early. I arrived at 11:51 am and my appointment was scheduled for 12 pm. I WAS NOT SEEN UNTIL 12:15 pm. Imagine my irritation at the fact that I made sure to be in time due to Tina expressing her unease about me being late, then I'm not seen until the time I would've made it by in the first place!!! That is the first thing I addressed when I finally sat down with her. She said she has no control over picky customers and they're always changing their mind about the colors, etc. she said the last customer before me moved around too much. Then she said 15 minutes "was fine" but 30 mins wasn't. I told her on the phone I would been 15 mins late! I rushed to be punctual only to have to wait for my own damn appointment. I was not pleased. She took a long time to get back to me. I don't know what she was doing in the back, but when she came back I chose a color. She said "really? It's really light." Then she said it's fine. I told her if it would be too light then I have another color to pick. She said no it's fine, it'll work. I always inspect my nails before she puts the color and they were fine, but what she meant about making it work was that she would over coat with a thick layer of nail polish! She KNOWS I don't like when it's too thick or wide, and I'm more of a natural style person. I don't even do anything crazy. So there comes my disappointment when I see the outcome. I asked her to file it some so it looks at least a little better than how she left it. She comes back basically putting the blame on me. She told me she asked me to inspect it and I said it was fine. I said yes it was ok before you coated it with layers and made it look stupid thick. I told her I've been going to her for YEARS, she has always known how I liked things and would advise against things she would feel like I wouldn't like. But now she's all putting the blame on me??? Now I try not to make a scene. I try to be neutral and understanding, but that's not ok. I have been going to you for years and this is the kind of treatment I get out of it and I've never publicly expressed how I didn't like how something turned out even though this hasn't been the first. The difference between now and then is I felt she was rushing through MY appointment because she was running late. Could I have told her to do everything ALL over with a different color because I didn't like how she did it? Yes I definitely could've been like the other people she was trying to reason to me why my appointment wasn't honored... but I decided to brush it off because what's the point? I think we (we customers) should be satisfied with the services we are paying for. I understand that it's not her fault when she's behind schedule, but it's not fair that you're taking from my appointment and disregarding my services because of it. So I think this is the last time I will be going here. It sucks because I really liked DD (the sweet woman who does my pedicure). It may not make a difference to them, but after 5 years they just lost a loyal customer. read more

Update: Went to make an appointment this morning and was told they can no longer do my nails because of my yelp review. Stunned me! Apparently "all the women feel uncomfortable around me and don't want me there". Sad because I've already sent 4 friends there. Obviously I "can't" return and I imagine they will not either. I'm so confused..... I know the owner reads this because they told me he called them upset about my review and that's why they don't want me there. Tina was awesome by the way. It's the other women who said I was not welcome. Found this place on Yelp and went with it because it seemed to be the only place with good photos. Shocked that the rest couldn't paint a fingernail without getting it all over the cuticle. Had a full set done this afternoon by Tina. She was very sweet and listened to what I wanted. I'm very particular and let her know that upon arrival. The only reason, I marked it down one star was due to the cleanliness. I'll go back but will ask to purchase my own instruments. read more

I heard about this little gem from a friend, but was a bit hesitant as I live in Long Beach and the 20 minute drive seemed a bit too far just for nails - especially since there are probably 10+ nail salons right next to me! But boy am I glad I decided to make the visit! Ann is the BEST! She always does my nails, I didn't even have to request her on my 2nd visit, she remembered who I was and how I like my nails shaped. My nails always look amazing AND she is the only technician who has cut off lifted pieces of acrylic from my nail! I've made the mistake of trying out other nail salons closer to my house, but keep crawling back to Ann with my broken or poorly done nails.
