Got my windows tinted here for the summer heat I got 20% I should have went for 15% it's just a little bit darker but it's still look really good also got it ceramic which blocks out heat rays more it is a little more costly but it's worth it I payed $400 for it read more

Okay, this review is LONG overdue...sorry Mike! I have had two cars' windows tinted by Mike at Cool Window Tinting, most recently a 1983 Dodge pickup (that caused Mike to curse my name due to the complexity of the windows). Mike is an absolute artist with window tint! If the tint isn't exactly perfect, he'll strip it off, and start over (which is what he did with my Dodge). The result is your car looking exceptional, no bubbles, no off center tinting, only perfection, which is what you want, right? Mike's little shop in Lakewood is so clean, you could literally eat off of the floors (if they weren't covered with rubber mats ;) Not only has Mike tinted two of my vehicles, he's tinted my Dad's Infiniti (who drove from Renton) and a friends Mini Cooper (who drove from Kent). I have never hesitated to recommend Mike and his services to anyone. Vehicle tinted: 2013 Mustang GT Let me start off by saying I've had 7 cars professionally tinted from various shops. This shop is the best I've been to. This shop is owned and operated by Mike. As you may have seen in other reviews you should just swing by his shop if your looking for a quote. He is a one man operation so if your calling get a quote....just stop by and you can get a quote and check out his operation. Cleanest tint shop Ive seen... He keeps it super clean and doors closed during tinting unlike most shops to prevent contaminants from getting between the tint and window during the process. He explains the process and is overall a very friendly guy. What I noticed to be the biggest difference between his shop and others is how he treats the customer....excellent customer service. He takes pride in his work and is a perfectionist. Don't let the couple reviews saying they were mad because he wouldn't quote over the phone. He quotes based on vehicle specific make/model.....example: he removed my panels to make sure he gets every last piece of glass unlike alot of places that just shove the tint below the rubber seal not really able to get it just right. It came out super clean, almost looks like he tinted the glass itself. Those guys even left tint scraps and water marks all over the place in there when they were done. Worst place I've been too....once you pay they act like they want the taste slapped out of their mouths. To use as a reference, speedzone charged me $245 and regret going there. I on the other hand would like my $40k vehicle well handled when someone is working on it. I guarantee you wont worry about if its being abused on a quick joy ride or being tampered with overnight (stored indoors). I think I'll pay the couple bucks extra... Since another reviewer bases her window tinting solely on price. There are several contributing factors to the price. I won't explain since this review is long enough. I gave him 2 stars instead of one only because I had him do the windows on my Explorer a few years ago & was very happy. Fast forward 4 years, got a new car & wanted the windows tinted. First I went to the web page & filled out the contact form requesting an appointment. Over a week later & no reply. The proprietor, Bobby, does not answer his phone & has chosen not to set up his voicemail so you can't even leave a message. I decided to be there when he opened up on Saturday (9:00 A.M. as posted on the web page). He was a no-show at 9:00, still not there at 10:00, ran some errands & came back at 11:00, still locked up tight. He does good work, but not worth my time if I have to hunt him down just to give him my business. read more

I went to this shop to have my windows tinted after hearing a lot of good feedback from others who have at some point had theirs done here. I called Mike up to get a quote and in order to ensure the best deal, he wanted to see my car before he gave any final number. My first thoughts of Mike was he was very personable and friendly. You can see the dedication, skill level and experience he has devoted into this company throughout the 30 plus years he's been in business all throughout the walls . He was quick to offer my mother, husband, daughter and son something to drink and welcomed us back to give us a tour. I felt right at home. After my windows were tinted, there was a small scratch that was noticeable on the tint. He was quick to fix the mistake. I got my car in the next business day - no questions asled. I walked away very happy with the product and service I received. Its a breath of fresh air to come across a business that stands behind their work and who is proud of the craftsmanship they perform. As far as the tint, Mike personally helped me pick the right % tint that I was looking for. I never felt rushed and walked away feeling like this guy was family. Tried to call him for a quote and he decided to flaunt his experience and refused to even give me a ballpark idea.Told me that he was frustrated from people asking about quotes and those who thought it was just about the money. Told me he didn't want my business if that's what it was about. Well, he's not getting it. Just wanted to save up for this and he was too busy telling me that his shop was the greatest and he was the best guy doing it. Called this place and told them I was looking for an inexpensive quick tint job and was quoted $45 a window for my pickup truck. I told him I was coming from across the bridges. He (owner) said bring it right in. When a arrived he came out to greet me. And then told me $275!?!???? I said what about $45 he had quoted me and he just blew that off and started talking about how great of a job they do and started showing me pictures on his walls. I asked how much just for the single back pickup window and he wanted $100 & was extra sure to mention it was plus tax if I didn't pay cash. He then showed me how the Lexus they were working on was a $375 job and how I should be happy he was only charging $100 for how great of a job he does. Then told me to take my truck to a car wash before he could work on the back window?? Inside my truck was pristinely clean and outside a few days of dust. No need to wash the outside to put on window tint on the inside.... Drove down the street and had it done in an hour and all the windows done for $140. I won't ever recommend this place to anyone. I had my windows tinted here and this place did an amazing job! I can't say enough good things about how well it came out. There even was a slight problem with one of my windows not rolling up which I didn't know about and he was able to fix that for me. Scheduling was super easy. He was able to get me an appointment the next day. If I ever need to get another car tinted I will definitely come back here! read more
