Overall great dinner - good food, friendly service and good price point! They were packed when I came, good idea to call for a reservation. Calamari $15 - Big portion, tender pieces of squid rings that is lightly breaded and crispy on the outside. Prime Rib $30 - Tasty and juicy, comes with soup or salad, your choice of potato, side of horseradish cream sauce, and steamed veggies (carrots and broccoli). Baby back ribs (half rack) $20 - Comes with soup or salad, coleslaw and side of veggies. Ribs were fall-off-the-bone and delicious! They often have live music at night that play in the bar area. Lots of people were dancing near the band. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2024

My husband and I just moved to Winfield and have been excited to try all the local restaurants. This weekend we had to try this place! The place is huge! They have a bar area where live music was happening. We definitely want to go back to experience that. Looked like everyone was having a great time! Our waiter, Andrew, was amazing. He was so nice, gave us great service and the food was really good. They also use tablets instead of paper menus which was cool to see! I ordered the blackened salmon which came with veggies and potato of choice. I went with the red potatoes. My husband ordered the fish fry with roasted red potatoes and a French onion soup. My vegetables did come a little cold, but the potatoes and fish were perfect temperature. The roasted red potatoes were absolutely delicious! I wouldn't say the blackened salmon blew me away, but it was very good. I'm used to blackened fish having a bit more seasoning on it which I feel would have really been great for this dish. But again, I was still satisfied with my meal. I felt the portion size and the price were very fair. My husband really enjoyed his fish. The tartar sauce they have here is very good. My husband also loved his French onion soup! A lot of places tend to make it on the sweeter side, and the French onion here had a very nice rich beef flavor which was delicious. It was also the perfect amount of cheese on it. The true star of our meal was the carrot cake!!! My goodness it was incredible!!!! It was so moist, had perfect sweetness, and the cream cheese frosting was one of the best!!! Can't wait to eat that again. We will definitely be back and excited to try more of the menu!

We went to Cooper's Corner on Saturday night before Easter to see the Elvis tribute. We went with relatives who just moved to Winfield. The place was understandably packed on a holiday weekend. They have a large parking lot so we didn't have trouble finding a space. We had an advance reservation due to the show. There was no cover for the music, but a $15 minimum per person. We had stuffed mushrooms, oysters Rockefeller, Cobb salad & asparagus salad. The Cobb salad & mushrooms were better than expected, the oysters were a B & the asparagus salad was the least appealing. Our cocktails were good. We enjoyed the music. We would go back & try them again.

I also liked the reviews by Chicago people who said it was as good as places in the city (yes I used to live in the city and miss it.) Greeted warmly by staff and got a seat in the bar area seating (as opposed to the main seating area which I'll try next time) but this was perfect as Bears and Packers Pt 1 was on tv which was fun to observe but too much was happening at our table for me to really focus on them. The server was smart, funny and super attentive without being overly so and when she didn't know what wine to recommend she sent over a sommelier who set us up with a nice Italian vintage. We started with the mussels. These were ok. Seemed slightly pre-made but this was the only small knock on our entire fantastic meal. Next course was the Pasta: we selected the Rolled Eggplant with ricotta and mozz on top. Got it with "easy cheese" and it was perfectly sumptious and had the exact easy cheese as requested. The eggplant was cooked perfectly and was so very tasty. On the main course, if you've never had Veal this is the place to try it. I love a good Veal Milanese or Parmesan and the Milanese was perfect! Breaded, lightly pan fried with Arugula, large shavings of Parmesan cheese and a properly cooked Polenta side. Delicious! The meal ended with a homemade fluffy, light, exquisite Tiramisu to send us both home very satisfied and happy. Thank you Positano family!

The atmosphere is still delightful with little sparkle lights along the windows and plenty of outdoor seating. They've added an Instagram wall ("Ouzo made me do it"). They now have a proper roasted Greek potato on the menu, and a vegetarian moussaka which I'm very excited about. Vegetarian items still not labeled; GF are. For mains, and vegetarians can get the spanakopita; a buttered macaroni with cheese; or combine various tasty dips from the appetizer section. There's also salad which I ignore. The online menu has a few appetizers I didn't see (zucchini with skordalia! Oven-baked lima beans!). Warning, at least where I was sitting: the booths can move (not nailed down) - be careful when you get up. I got the chef's special spanakopita/tiropita and the roasted potato; be very specific when ordering as I was served the special "Molos Greek potato" with garlic yogurt and shredded cheese, which was fine but not what I wanted. The spanakopita and tiropita were tasty, with a good ratio between filo and filling, served on a folded cloth napkin (great idea, even perfect filo-wrapped items can be a bit greasy). Service started a little slow, as there was apparently a big party (they do that and they cater now). It was OK though I'm not sure English was my server's first language. I'll be back for the moussaka, which looks great (someone at the next table ordered it) and will be very precise when ordering my roasted Greek potato. Hopefully with a side of giant lima beans in tomato sauce.

You can request seating closer to the bar if you want to enjoy the music while dining. Otherwise, the window seats are nice if you're looking for something quieter, restaurant lighting is dim. They're also able to modify some dishes to be gluten free. The Poached Pear Salad was light and refreshing, GF if you omit the goat cheese "crouton." Though if you like goat cheese, it looked delectable, perfectly cooked. It's more like a small fried goat cheese patty (almost like a mozzarella stick). The risotto was well cooked, but nothing particularly memorable in terms of flavor or components (bacon, mushroom, pesto, parmesan butter). The cassoulet was bursting with flavor. They offer both a small and larger portion. The small is really just a few bites of duck, so if you're looking for something more filling, definitely go with the larger size, which feels closer to a standard entrée. You can omit the panko breadcrumbs to make it gluten free. The guava sorbet was a refreshing way to end the meal, served as a trio of scoops and a cookie (not GF). Portion sizes overall are just okay, as you're unlikely to have leftovers. Unless you order apps, an entrée, and dessert, you may not leave completely full. Drink-wise, they have cocktails, beers, one cider on tap (GF), and wine options. The Mint Julep (bourbon based) was strong, simple, and surprisingly tasty. Service was fine overall, though one gentleman stood out for being especially attentive and friendly (wish we caught his name). Pricing didn't quite match the quality, but would be open to return in future to try out other dishes.

We were actually running a bit behind, so my wife called and informed the front desk, and they made accommodations for us. We ordered the Over The Border Egg Rolls as a starter. We all felt that way, which kind of sucked, but mind you, we all don't really eat a lot of salt, so how palates are a bit different from others. They were still good though. For dinner, I had the Tim's Favorite Chicken Giardiniera and my wife had Gnocchi Butternut Squash and my mother in-law had the Pistachio Crusted Grouper. My wish was pretty freakin good. I had to stop myself from eating the whole thing. The chicken was pretty thin and crisp but not dry at all! The giardiniera add the right amount of heat, spice and brightness to the dish. The cheese played well in the background and the mash potatoes were nice and smooth. I wish they had a bit more wasabi flavor though. My wife and mother-in's food was also pretty good. The brussel sprouts were crispy and paired with a fresh mint sauce and light space sauce; neither were overwhelming. For entrees, most got the Gnocchi with Roasted Butternut Squash while I got the Gnocchi Alla Vodka. I loved mine for being a classic dish with creamy sauce, crumbled sausage, and pillowy gnocchi. The other dish was perfect for a spring day as it was lighter in flavor, vegetable forward, and less heavy. I was a little bummed that our table never got the complimentary pretzel bun that seemed like every other table got. Our server was very sweet and kept on top of refilling our waters. The other meats were good but a bit salty. The salad bar was pretty good also. Especially the bacon. Me, my wife and other daughter ordered off the bar menu and it was awesome. We got wings, steak, lamb, and both sliders - all of it was excellent. It was so good that this is going to be our good to place for family meals. Pictures posted below Service (A-) The staff was super friendly and nice. We went right at lunch open so not too busy. Prompt service and great job by the severs. The only caution is the wait for bar ordered food - it does take a while. I think the staff is focused on the Churrasco experience foods so anything ordered does take longer. But they were clearly trying there best Value (A) Split rating - would give Churrasco experience a B+ while bar menu a A+.
