Food and service was great this is one of my go to midtown bars. not too crowded and the atmosphere is always awesome

I really liked the restaurant that was previously located in this spot. I decided to try Cooper's to see how they had adjusted to taking over this spot. Parking can be a hit or miss for CY area. We went on a Monday at 5:00p and it wasn't overly busy. prompt seating and friendly servers. starters: Southwest egg rolls and the chicken and sausage gumbo. Both were delicious and the gumbo is a nice sizes bowl for the price. main: catfish fillet. Fried crispy and seasoned well. The potatoes are a cut wavy shape with a nice crispy coating. Cocktails: Captain Cooper's Treasure a frozen paloma style martini was by fav my fav. The Cease and Desist was just the right amount of mezcal that has a little heat thanks to the jalapeno syrup. There was also a trivia call game that started right as we were heading out. Overall it's a nice, casual and welcoming space to grab food and chill. Prices are very reasonable and there is also outdoor patio seating. I'd definitely do that once the fall weather rolls in. read more

Not from Memphis so I'll keep the review short. Was having lunch across the street, and was looking up the menu of coppers. The business had a single 1 star review with no images so figured I would go in to refute said review. The space is large, and inviting with plenty of booths, TV's and a modern-rustic Vibe. I helped myself to the bar where the bartender was super friendly. To make it even better it was bustling with live music. The bar menu has a decent selection of cocktails and wonderful selection of beers on tap. Don't judge the business on that single review because the live music, alone, is worth the visit. read more

Worst gumbo I've ever had. Watery, smelled and looked like vomit and didn't taste much better. Will never eat there again.

The food is above average. Filling and many choices. The servers are friendly and there is Olentangy of room. The restaurant is comfortable. read more

I ALMOST had a negative experience here after receiving the wrong order, but the lovely manager (Jake, I think?) took care of us super fast and got it all sorted. Great patio, live music is a plus, and the food is delicious! A bit pricey, but well worth it. We can't wait to come back for music bingo! read more

I called in an order of 15 bacon wrapped shrimp. After I drove from Horn Lake I was told that they may not have them. Then after waiting for over an hour they bring them out and was one short!!! Maybe it's gone down hill after new owners but this service is ridiculous. If they didn't have them they could have called me cause I had to leave my phone number to place the order!!!! Glad I counted them before I left or I would have really been pissed!!!!!! Plus didn't get the correct change back either!!! Guess she kept it for her tip!!! read more

The burgers are awful! The meat was gray, and there is absolutely no seasoning. There is no salt or pepper provided on the tables. By the time I got S&P, the burger was cold. There was no amount of seasoning to save this gray, sad, tasteless disc. The wings were good! BUT, they don't offer any additional napkins unless you request. I would think if someone orders wet wings, bring them more than just one little napkin. The shrimp po'boy was mostly bun, and needs at least 2 more shrimp to qualify as a sandwich. On the positive, our server was extremely nice. The interior is clean. Great location , but work on that food. read more

Went for lunch on a Saturday while visiting from out of state. Stumbled on it really, while walking in the area. There were several parties in the patio, but we sat inside & were 1 of 2 parties there. I don't understand some of the negative reviews. We started with the pretzel which was really good & then had a Philly cheesesteak with tots & a shrimp po'boy with fries. All of it was fresh, served quickly & the service was friendly. The place was clean & decorated nicely too. Give them a try if you're in the area. read more

The food was just ok, but pretty decent for the price point. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We ate outside and there were quite a bit of ants crawling on our table and other tables had quite a bit of bird poop. Overall I would try it again, maybe a burger and sit inside. read more

Went there Tuesday morning for lunch , started off with a strawberry cucumber smash and was not disappointed what so ever! I got the tiger balls for my entrée was skeptical about the portion size, but they were a perfect portion for what I was looking for. Overall great experience will come again. came here with my best friend (girlfriend) and we had a nice time here. got the cheese dings- which were delicious and gooey. i got a burger- which was an alright burger. nothing to write home about but it did a burger's job (being a burger.) my gf and mum both got the buffalo chicken sandwich and i had a bite, it was delicious! spicy too. very fun. the place has a nice vibe to it (light bar, not to be confused with dark bar. this is a good comment) service was nice and friendly and fairly quick for lunch. overall i'd probably come back here (if i was in the area and i felt like it) (also a good comment) (also the wavy fries were AMAZING.) Ambiance and service great..., food was absolutely horrible. ONLY go here for drinks on the patio, do NOT order food. My husband's greasy sad burger meat was literally a beige color. My veggie burger was even more pitiful, probably just stuck in a microwave. Our fried green tomato appetizer even worse. This place will not make it, not unless there is a huge and significant improvement on food quality. I've literally had better food at my elementary public school back in the 80's. Zero out of five stars. The pretzel appetizer was molded and looked freezer burned. The fried green tomatoes were still frozen. The burger was a gray/beige color, and the sauce on the pasta tasted like it was straight from a jar. Waiter brought lemons for our tea in a wet bar napkin that was in the palm of his hand. I do not normally leave reviews but my experience here was so poor, I felt compelled. I went in with high hopes because Cafe Olé was such a hit, but clearly this was not translated to Cooper's. We had started with the spinach artichoke dip. The dish was unappetizing and bland, neither the spinach nor artichoke made an appearance in the flavor profile. I had ordered the chicken quesadilla for my entree. It was overcooked and overpriced. We also ordered the cajun pasta--I'm convinced they used jar alfredo topped with a dash of cajun seasoning. The noodles were not cooked well either. Our waitress was friendly, as was the other staff that checked on us! The ambiance was fun, it would be a great spot if they improved the menu. read more

So yes, the ambiance is nice, and the live music was pleasant, but I just cannot get past the terrible food and the poor customer service. We were excited because we found the patio nice, and we liked our drinks even though not what I usually get. We also enjoyed the fried green tomatoes and tiger balls. Then came the entrees. Just TERRIBLE! How can you advertise as world famous burgers with that mess? I've had better burgers at McDonalds. Then the philly sandwich was equally as bad. There was barely any meat, and it was mostly all bun with microscopic peppers and no cheese. Tator tots were even mushy. Side salad was super small with acidic honey mustard dressing. They also messed up the burgers. When we told our waitress, she acted like she didn't believe us. She said she was going to send out the kitchen manager, but he never came. The other manager finally came out and discounted the ticket $2! lol If you go to this place, just don't waste your money on food. My beer was fine. That's about it. read more
