Sausage burrito - 4/5 this was good! It is definitely healthier than regular breakfast burritos I've had which is nice. I wish there was more eggs and sausage tho. Sauce was just okay , it could have been more flavorful. But for the price at a cafe it's not bad since it pretty big and filling. Matcha latte - 3/5 this was okay but a little too much milk in my opinion. I couldn't taste the matcha much. Kind of tasted like warm milk.. I ordered their chilaquiles with the eggs on the side. I was a bit skeptical ordering them because there were lots of reviews saying that they were dry. Mine were cooked very well and super saucy, I also ordered a side of sauce just in case. I don't like eggs on my chilaquiles, so I ordered them on the side and they were nice and fluffy. This was a huge disappointment of establishment, as their Yelp rating states otherwise. My friend and I came in to Pasadena for a concert, in which we decided to stop by for coffee and a small bite. The coffee menu seems to be a little limited to what I am used to seeing, at other coffee shops. The service was decent, but definitely not friendly. As for the avocado toast that I ordered, (it was a very unpleasant.) The bread was stale and too toasted. The avocado had no seasoning or flavor whatsoever and just a handful of greens on top. Honestly, it was a waste of $12.50 (as that's how much the avocado toast is.) I could definitely tell you, this is the worst avocado toast I've ever had. Also, I got a chance to visit the restrooms, which are available for customers. When I went in, I noticed that the sink in the restroom was leaking, which creates a great hazard for people. Easily anyone can fall and be injured. I am really surprised on how no one in the management team or owner has done anything about this issue. I wish I would've taken a picture of the huge puddle that was on the floor. And I know you're probably asking, " Why didn't I say anything?" And to answer your question, I know that the workers knew about this huge puddle, as I continuously saw them going in and out of the bathroom. They simply did not care. And even though this establishment is well presented, it is not worth it. Not even for their coffee. My friend had ordered an Vanilla Iced Latte and she said it was yucky. The tofu was a nice touch and added a similar consistency as an egg. The vegan sausage patty was delicious. My partner's go to is always the chorizo hash. I was shopping/hanging out in Old Pasadena and felt like I needed a boost so I went into Copa Vide. It's a nice-looking shop with plenty of indoor seating and a few tables out on the sidewalk. I know people love this place but I just didn't like the vibe. It was pretty busy so it was kinda loud but I just couldn't get comfortable. The staff was not particularly friendly, not rude just blah. The coffee was good, I had a Cortado, not great by any means. But I probably won't be coming back. The cafe is located in old town Pasadena. You can park on the street or one of the nearby structures. I saw they had seasonal items - a pork belly sandwhich. It looked really good in the picture. Sadly they were short staffed that day so had to close early so kitchen was already closed when I got there. Instead I tried the coffee and a strawberry croisssant. The coffee was a bit too bitter for me. The croissant was unique - never had a strawberry swirled croissant. It was pretty but sadly the croissant was not as flaky as I like (altho I admit I am a bit of a French pastry snob). Perhaps I give them another try with one of their savory dishes. Visited a friend who worked in the area and we decided to walk over to Copa Vida, where I've never been. Place was crowded for a late afternoon, and they had a decent food menu as well. On a chocolate fix, I went with a hot cocoa and chocolate croissant while she went with an iced coffee. We found a seat in the back room and it was a pleasant place to be for the next hour. Cocoa tasted great, the crowd was fairly mellow for a Thursday afternoon, and it was a great place to be for a while. Service up front was good even though it was a little busy upon arrival. Parking can be a little tough on the streets, but you can get 90 min free parking at the Schoolhouse Garage and not have to worry about feeding meters! Plenty of indoor seating as well as outside, and it's quite spacious for its small-looking storefront. Service is super attentive and quick! Even during a brunch rush when I went with my friends, they took orders efficiently and with a smile behind their masks. The food was absolutely perfect. We ordered a whole spread to try, but I got their smoked salmon soft scrambled toast with a latte. The latte was very smooth and packed quite a caffeinated punch! It was mellow without being burnt, which I appreciated. The toast was super delicious and amazing. The crunchiness of the toast paired perfectly with the fluffy scrambled eggs and soft, smoky salmon. The creme fraiche added a nice zing to the toast, while the fresh herbs and capers really helped give a complex depth my taste buds can't describe! Not usually one to do this, but as someone who works in the service industry I was upset to be represented like this. I walked into this location yesterday afternoon after getting some bad news. Was likely visibly discombobulated and teary eyed, just to be made fun of by the employees (yes, I did hear you). Made my terrible day 10x worse, when I just wanted a matcha . Also asked for oat milk and definitely got regular milk as my stomach would let me know after finishing my drink. Did love the unsweetened option for the matcha though! read more

I love trying new coffee spots and I was really impressed with Copa Vida! It's very spacious inside, which makes it a great study spot or a place people can work. I ordered their Croque Madame and the Iced Vanilla Latte. Their coffee was pretty standard, but their food tasted delicious! I've never had a Croque Madame before, but I really enjoyed this dish. The flavors were great and it was overall really filling! This is one of the few coffee spots I've been to that serves food and drinks well! I highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a place to do work and also have a meal. The staff was super friendly and made the order quickly. Parking was conveniently across the street in a public parking garage and it is $1 per 2 hours. There's also street parking available and you can pay on your phone. Let me begin with the latte. It was recommended by the barista, and it was amazing. It's called a brown sugar , honey latte. It was the smoothest latte is ver had. The brown sugar and honey give it a gentle sweetness. This will be my new go to coffee now. Secondly, the Berkkie Bacon sandwich was also amazing, with bacon, cheddar cheese and spinach with some aioli sandwiches bun is light and fluffy, after taking a bite I was in heaven. It's one of the most popular sandwiches for breakfast and delicious too. This coffee cafe is located on Raymond the best of old town. I actually found this place because the Cafè across the street was closed. I went around the block and parked to check this coffee cafe out and I am not disappointed at all. First of all, what an amazing staff. Mind you, it was my fist time and they greeted me with a big smile. And gave me some suggestions. I can't remember the name of the person who was there, however she was a delight. I loved the ambiance, as I walked in looking around plenty of seating and loved they have windows sounding the cafe. When I was done, I orders a cold version of the brown sugar latte for my guest visiting me, and she loved it. I am normally happy with my go to coffee shop and Ive been coming here for years, but today I ordered my usual Iced Matcha Latte and while I was waiting longer than usual for my order (I understand it's the morning rush) to be called out I kept on seeing customers who ordered after me get their drinks. So I walked up to the coffee bar and asked if my drink was ready and it was just sitting on the top of the bar in a for-here cup. They failed to call my name out. I get it they were busy, but what really pissed me off was she pours it back into the shaker and adds more matcha syrup and pours it back into a for-here cup again. I stare at her and I said I wanted it to-go. At this point I'm getting very annoyed, and I say the drink is watered down (due to the ice). I was expecting her to get fucking hint and remake it. But she didn't, I can see now her annoyance in her facial expression. Instead she pours it back into the shaker and adds more matcha syrup and milk and pours it back into a to-go cup. WTF! What is your fucking problem. My drink is overly sweet now. At this point I'm not coming back here again. I walked out and threw my drink in the trash and headed to starbucks. This place was all right! I was meeting a friend here for brunch on a weekend, and she arrived before I did. The line wasn't too bad relative to how the other reviews have described the queue. We both ordered our food (she a vegan breakfast burrito and coffee, and I got chilaquiles and coffee). The cashier commented on how good the chilaquiles were, and I was hyped to try them. The food came out really quickly! It took probably less than 10 minutes for them to bring out both items (we had ordered separately). Unfortunately, in the case of my dish, the food looked way better than it tasted. My chilaquiles definitely could've benefited from more salsa because I was left with a lot of dry chips at the end, and my last few bites were not very enjoyable. The coffee was also fine. It came in a huge mug (so it was a good value), and I drank it black without sugar, and it had a darkly roasted flavor, which probably wouldn't float everyone's boat. I liked it, though. As for my friend, she said her burrito was good. However, she also ended up eating a banana that she had in her bag, so either she was very hungry or the food wasn't very filling. Cute meet-up or first date spot. I was here earlier this morning for coffee with a friend. At 10am on a Sunday, the place was bustling with other folks also there for coffee and trying to get some work done. We sat outside and it seemed like the outdoor tables were prime real estate. There is street parking but it's metered and there is a garage across the street free first 90 minutes. Read signs or meters carefully. I will totally come back ! I paid $6 for my vanilla latte and it was delicious and a total of $21 for my tab which included the chorizo hash. I normally don't eat chorizo but a lot of folks recommended it in their reviews and tips. I thought it was ok. It had a little bit of a kick and I don't care for spice. "That looks very healthy!" -the text I received from two separate friends in response to pictures I sent them of my food here. I wouldn't say that it looks that healthy, or is that healthy, but it definitely slaps and it could be much less healthy. The first time I came here, I ordered the ham breakfast sandwich and an iced Freddo. The sandwich was the one my friends reacted to, and I will say that it was incredibly fresh and light. I would order again and recommend it. I tried the iced freddo because I've never tried one, and it was good. I'm glad I tried it but I probably wouldn't reorder it. The second time I came here I got the classic avocado toast with added scrambled egg, and the ceremonial matcha cortado. Both my first and second visits were during the pandemic, so everything was served in takeout containers. The sandwich looked much more presentable than the toast, which kinda looked like everything was just thrown together in the box. You can't really help that, though, and it tasted pretty good, despite being a bit lackluster. The ceremonial matcha was a fun item, and I'd reorder it if I was in the mood for matcha. I've been here a lot because it's a great place to grab drinks and chill, but I have never tried their foods until now and I must say i'm pretty impressed with their foods. We try: - Croque Madame with tomato soup. YUMMY!! Huge portion and very fulfilling. The bread is toasted very nicely and the combination of every ingredient (ham, caramelized onion, melted gruyere, sunny egg, and bearnaise sauce) is excellent. The soup is perfect especially for this chilly weather. - Chorizo Egg Hash. It's once again HUGE!! The chorizo is very flavorful and it gives a nice spicy kick. Thank God for the generous arugula because it definitely helps balance the oily and flavorful chorizo. Lots of people are on their laptops even though this cafe is far from quiet. The place is decent, I cannot say that there was anything notably noteworthy. The worker did not greet me upon entering, and I felt like I was being rushed to order. As it was my first time, it was hard to decide what to order as some of the drinks have unique names like "shakerato" & "freddo". I ordered the shakerato which is a subtly sweet drink and their avocado toast. The toast would have been good, but the bread was hard as a brick. The butter knife they gave me barely could cut through. Additionally, I noticed that there was a couple of tables left with empty cups and plates that guests left behind. I'm not sure of the clean up policy, whether guests must clear their area after they're done. However, none of the workers seemed to wipe down the tables and clear them afterwards.
