I've been here a few times pre-pandmeic and now once after it opened up again. Huge line to get in around 8-9! Lots of hood dudes like always, good music with live dj though! Latin and hip hop & hits. Packed with people not really observing covid rules which I don't mind. The bartenders were cool. We watched a fight there last time. They charge you for that I think it was a $10 cover. Our bartender made the best hot toddys! Real cinnamon in it! Attentive. We tried the chicken nachos. The chicken was bland but the queso was good and a good amount of food on the plate. All the bartenders were good too! They have the heaters going since its an open facade as well so wear a coat if you get chilly easy! Lots of cops parked around there too so don't drink and drive. read more

We've been to copper blues multiple times before the pandemic, but entering copper blues tonight was NOT acceptable because as soon as we walked in with security, they RACIALLY profiled my friend because his "pocket was extending too much" and he was compliant immediately without any questions . But even as soon as my friend took out HIS WALLET, the body guard was still giving us a hard time. We're natives of Oxnard and experiencing this was super disappointing and even the cashiers did not want to issue us refunds for our "cover charge" because they were not "witnesses". We were treated very poorly and we will definitely be letting our friends and family know of our very poor experience. read more

I've tried to give this place a shot a few time but they've always come up short. A $35 Sunday buffet? $35? Seriously? What the hell is in those beans? Caviar? No thanks, I'm good. And a huge mariachi band during the NFL playoffs? Who the hell does the booking? Think this through much? Apparently not. Good luck getting service if you sit at the bar. First time here for brunch and have to say $35 dollars and drinks are extra. What the heck. Definitely nothing like Sagebrush in Calabasas with endless mimosas at least and a wide variety of food. The food was meh. Pozole verde was pretty good. But other than that food was a let down . The mariachi good. The best part of the experience to be honest. Will most likely be my first and last time here for brunch. Get it together Copper Blues. Brunch definitely needs some attention to detail. read more

Came here with a girlfriend for the start of our Girls' evening back in September, and tried a few of the signature cocktails. I figured that since I enjoy spicy flavors, I would order the Kickstart my Heart; a jalapeno-infused tequila beverage with strawberry. It was so overpowering, I had to send it back. I switched then to the Johnny Be Good, a vodka lemon, cucumber, and rosemary cocktail. I assumed that would be a nice and refreshing combination, however, it too was overwhelming with rosemary. The food was tasty for what it was. We only ordered from the bites menu, the Pretzel Sticks, whose cheddar beer sauce was good but rich. I can only speak to my experience, not sure about the negative reviews from some others, but we came here over the weekend on Saturday afternoon and had a great time. The patio is open seating, so we got a great seat out there and the weather was perfect. We were there during happy hour, so we grabbed a few of the menu items that are priced for happy hour, and several drinks. We started with the copper nachos, which were a hearty portion and topped with all kinds of good stuff, and split the BBQ drunk pork sandwich for our entree. I tried two different cocktails during our time there, the champagne supernova (vodka, mango, prosecco, OJ) and the sweet dreams cocktail (jack daniels, jack honey, sweet tea simple) which was my favorite of the two. I personally thought the food was good for what it was (bar food, not looking for a culinary experience) and the drinks were flavorful and well made. I also really liked the string lights all throughout the interior. Maybe it's just better to come here during off hours for a better experience, because we had no issues other than a wobbly table that we were able to fix. What are the scene and food like? Who knows! Their reservation guy "doesn't work on weekends" so we are having to move our party elsewhere at the very last minute. We used their online reservation form on their website. NO WHERE does it say that they do not do reservations at night. (What else would be the point of making a reservation?) We got an automated reply that the reservation was received and that they would contact us within 24 hours. We were never contacted. So I made a call this afternoon as we're heading out to confirm the plans for tonight, and was told "we don't take reservations after 5:00". I called back a little later and asked to speak with a manager. Evidently those forms go to the "reservation guy" and he "doesn't work weekends". So, manager knows nothing about it and there's nothing we can do - they won't hold a table for our party and they don't have enough tables for parties our size that we could just show up and plan to get one. If all of this had been communicated a few days ago so that we had time to change plans I wouldn't be so annoyed (but I'd still complain about none of this being on their website). Why have a reservation form that accepts reservations after 5:00 if you don't actually accept reservations after 5:00?!! I'm pissed off that what should have been a cool and fun night is now super stressful and instead of starting the party I'm at home rushing around to try to make new plans with everybody. How does this joint stay in business? Dirty tables, lousy service, and miserable food. Sat. June 22 my wife and I stopped here for food and a drink. The table we were assigned to was dirty. Then no service. We asked at the bar for a server and were assigned the Bartender, who was pissed off she had to cover for the lazy waitress. The Chicken pizza I ordered had little to no pizza. The sauce on the pizza was very nice, which was just as well because there was precious little else on it. The Sangria we ordered came in what was a little bigger than a shot glass and cost $11. I had been to this place a few times at night for drinks and dancing but had dinner here for the first time today. My boyfriend and I ordered the Copper Nachos with Carne Asada and the Meat Lovers Pizza. The nachos were okay but nothing spectacular. We ordered the pizza to be made extra crunchy and it was BOMB. Loved it. We were however disappointed with our beverages. I ordered a sparkling water and the server got me soda water in a plastic cup. My boyfriend had a coke and it was also in a plastic cup. Aren't we educated enough to not waste and use plastic anymore? We looked around and we saw people's cocktails in the same plastic cups. Beer and wine were in glasses. This cool and hip bar/lounge isn't as cool and hip if they're using plastic cups. For that reason alone, I wouldn't have dinner here again. There are very many negative reviews for this place, and I wouldn't be surprised for a restaurant and bar that is supposed to serve customers until the late night hours. And honestly, I don't think I've ever been to a bar at 11 at night, super packed, crowded, loud music, lights dimmed down, first come first serve seating, and said "Wow the food and and service was awesome!" No never! But I must be honest, this place is a fun place to enjoy loud music and have some drinks after you've already watched a movie, watching a showing at Levity, or just at The Collection. Yes this place may not have the best service, but they do have a lot to offer compared to what it was previously. They have Happy Hour Specials, Bottomless Mimosas & Bloody Mary's during Sunday Brunch, and live music pretty much every night! Sunday Brunch is my favorite time to come. The brunch menu is good, especially their version of chicken and waffles, which is pictured below. And their bottomless mimosas run from 11am-2:30, plenty of time to have some Sunday fun day. I've come here during the weekend too, mostly after a showing at Levity, and yes this place does get packed, so don't expect top knot here service at that time. My favorite thing about this place is the interior decor, from the ceiling to the hanging plants and lighting, this place gives such an awesome vibe, and sticks with its "copper" name theme. So the manager, Troy Garcia contacted me to try and redo the awful experience we had the first time. Let me just say he should have never contacted me because he NEVER followed through. He said to let him know what date and time we could come back. I sent him two different emails, and even called to confirm coming in and he just blew me off. Hey Troy, if your going to reach out to me and try and fix it, then do nothing, why even bother? It just makes your company look worse and it reaffirms my first experience. Run away from this place. Loving this place! It's hidden away in the Collection in Oxnard, adjoined to Levity Live Comedy Club. The decor is trendy- exposed brick, Edison lights, etc. The outside patio is awesome! Hanging vines and firepits. The crowd is diverse and great for people watching. The drinks were great, our waitress, Crystal, was very attentive and a lot of fun, and gave great drink recommendations. The Beautiful Day was soooooo good! Lemon juice & acaì vodka. Champagne Supernova was okay. It tasted like straight juice to me, which is fine if your looking to drink juice. We had some vodka/tonics later in the night after a show at Levity Live and I'm pretty confident the drinks were stronger later in the night. No complaints there! read more

2 stars food, 3 stars bar We ended up here for dinner one night a few weeks ago. Previously had only been to watch the game as the bar itself it nice and airy. Eh, I don't think we'd be back for dinner. The nachos were okay, but nothing worth ordering again. It was huge and the flavor of the cheese sauce actually got annoying after a while and I was picking around it. My friends chicken sandwich and fries were decent, but the fries got cold and soft fairly quick (we were inside at the bar, not outside). The fried pickles were the discs vs spears; they were okay, not too over breaded or cooked, but I couldn't eat a lot of them and the serve was good sized. That said the beer selection was great and we like the general atmosphere for watching a game / having a beer with friends. They have regular live music, too. well, my first review if 2017. I came here twice on new years eve to Uber some folks home from the festivities here and the raved about the place. Then new years morning I Ubered Jael E here... she works here. She told me "we have a great brunch" so I figured 3 times in two days gotta give it a go. So we came here for brunch this New Year's Day got in early about 11:30 we got a great spot on the patio with a toasty heater since there were not too many people here yet. I had the breakfast Burger with arugula, cheddar cheese a fried egg a slab of hash browns and Cajun Bearnaise. it was okay wasn't the best burger but it was kind of meh. The Bloody Marys were off the hook! Elizabeth had the breakfast pizza with cheese and eggs, bacon and a drizzle of Cajun Bearnaise she could only eat about half of it so she has the rest for later Sophia and Jael did a great job keeping our glasses filled our came out hot food hot and timely. My experience started out pretty dreadful at first. Date night on a Friday night. We got in before Happy hour ended which was ok either way for us. We wanted to get drinks and people watch. We came in were told to seat ourselves which was cool. No biggie. We sat ourselves the only table left was really gross and someone had left the doggy bag behind. After sitting for nearly an hour and being passed by by the waitress more than 10 times our night slowly took a downward turn. My hubby was upset that we waited so long even after asking the waitress could someone help us. Funny thing is she helped the table behind me and in front of us. After nearly ah hour of waiting for someone to just wiped down the table we just decided to leave. Man, I was disappointed this was our first visit to the bar & grill and we had heard some amazing things about the place. I really wanted to just love the place! Before leaving my hubby insisted we talked to the manager and when I say the manager went beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcomed and VIP. We almost felt like we were back home in Atlanta where southern hospitality still exists. We left $70 dollar tip and it wasn't because of the waitress lack of customer Service & manners. You know, The one Who totally ignored us over a hand full of times over the course of an hour. My gratitude was solely based on the quality of customer service and hospitality that the Manager gave by making sure we received top notch service while we were there. We got a couple of drinks on the house and then another round of drinks so our tip was more than our bill. We didn't mind AT ALL. The Music was jumping & diverse and the drinks were all consistent & delicious. The had live music and a DJ who knew how to cater to a diverse crowd! The bartender is certainly getting 6 stars just for the quality of the drinks. The drinks were consistently amazing. It was our first time visiting but it most definitely will not be our last!!! The servers are consistently great and the decor/atmosphere is really nice. That's their saving grace. Tonight, was our 3rd time here. I ordered our appetizer at 7:09. It came at 8:15 and it was cold. The food here is just ok... mostly small portions. I'd recommend fries or nachos to share if you're hungry, but I won't order food here again. Maybe just a drink at the bar and that's it. I like that they have live music but it's hit or miss. So I'm giving this location a 5 star due to amazing idea of bringing a 9 piece salsa band and having Salsa Sundays for the upcoming weeks. Band was off the charts, had a great singer, cute back up singers and even a very clever flute player. Not sure why they wouldn't promote this band given the band leader tours with Jennifer Lopez as her percussionist. I believe the band is called FAUSTO CUEVAS Y LA MODERNA. Now as for the food- I give it a 3 stars - it did arrive quick but not warm. Ribs were savory but on the dry side, not juicy . Coleslaw could use some work, it was good but lacked in flavor. Brussel Sprouts are delicious and I can't imagine improving something that's actually very good. The place is absolutely gorgeous ! The drinks are very immpressive . I definitely recommend the Sweet dreams for the ultimate strong and sweet cocktail ( chick drink) :) Their Copper Fire Shot is also delicious and feels heavenly on a sore throat. I went here last night hoping to have a good time and the moment I walked in and my boyfriend tried to grab us a drink the server went completely off on us , refused to serve us , and called security to have us escorted out. This was so upsetting because he had such poor customer service skills and was just a complete ass hole. he then continued to flip my boyfriend off and think since security was there he was safe but he just kept trying to provoke my boyfriend . luckily the manager was nice enough to give us a refund on what we spent on our cover charge but it was still just not okay. that makes me never want to come back to this place and make sure I share my experiences with those who do come here. My husband and I haven't been on a date in a really long time since becoming parents to triplets 15 months ago...this place was a HUGE disappointment. My husband suggested that we try Copper Blues. So we got there at about 9:15pm Saturday night and the place was packed which is to be expected. We wondered around inside and outside until two seats opened up at the bar in the outside patio area. The music was extremely loud out on the patio...so loud that the bartender couldn't hear what we were saying and we couldn't hear what she was saying. I get that the music should be loud inside, there was a live band and the place itself is what I would call a nightclub. But it would have been nice if there was some relief out on the patio. There are speakers everywhere and T.V.'s on. A bit distracting. Definitely don't come here if want to have a conversation. :) After finally settling on a Strawberry Fields cocktail (the first one was good, nice and strong..but the other two tasted very watered down.) for me and a beer for my husband, we decided to order the Nachos with the braised short ribs. Thinking that if we were still hungry after the Nachos, we could order more. Since we had not eaten dinner. After waiting more than an hour without getting our food...the bartender that had been helping us said she would go check on our food...she told one of the guys behind the bar to go check and when he came back he told us that they were making it right now...and I said...did they forget to make them? And he told me yes! Are you freaking kidding me!? All our bartender told us was sorry it took so long, when the Nachos finally made their appearance. My husband and I started to eat the Nachos because at this point we were starving. And they were just okay. First of all they were cold. Second they are way over priced and the braised short ribs that was on it was dry and gross. We could barely eat them. The bartender that had been helping us never really apologized and didn't take the Nachos off of our bill, knowing that the kitchen forgot to make them. 20 minutes after we were done eating a manager came out to the bar with...you guessed it...Nachos. He asked everyone at the bar who the Nachos belonged to and no one would claim them. Were those our original order of Nachos? We will never know. It will remain a Nacho mystery (sigh) We left after paying our bill. We were still hungry but just went home. In closing, if you want to search and search for a place to sit, eat cold food...if they even remember to bring it out and not be able to have a conversation with the person/people you are with then you will love this place. read more

We went for the 80's New Years. The music was great and the interior design was awesome. Very cool place to hang out. It was really busy, but the server stopped by frequently to check in on us. My husband and I got a couple of the "specialty" cocktails, but they were only so-so. Very very sweet, and not a lot of alcohol at all; mostly just juice. So this place isn't a bad little spot. Did a squadron event here and they gave us a little corner to thr back that was outside which made it nice. Food was ok but if you're coming here for the food on a Friday night you probably are coming for the wrong reasons. After the sun starts to set this place changes from a restaurant to a full up bar latin dance club w a bad who was aweome. It's a cool little salsa bar and its a lot of fun. If you're with kids I'd take a hard pass, if yoi a with a date or trolling for a Latina/Latino then this is a SOLID spot.
