This morning I ate at copper skillet. I love their portion sizes everything was so large, I couldn't finish it. The prices are affordable and the servers will make you feel amazing. I ordered a Ruben from the menu and what I got was two pieces of bread smeared with mayonnaise, a glob of sour krout and two pieces of pastrami that looked like bacon. The worst Ruben I ever had. In addition when I asked for a steak sandwich instead what I received was a horrible piece of meat that was leathery at best. The only shining part of all this was the service. The service was excellent. They need a new cook or send the cook they have to the black bear restaurant in walnut creek to see was good food is supposed to look and taste like. read more

I came here to eat breakfast. The older waitress was super rude to me. I waited several minutes just to be seated with several empty booths. A couple came in that she knew and she was very friendly to them. they were seated immediately while I stood and waited while I waited for a seat. I finally got a seat, and i never received service! When I did I never received water or my coffee. I asked for coffee several times. I finally had to get up and get my own coffee. When I asked for a refill of coffee the same thing. She brought out fresh coffee and refilled everyone's coffee except for mine. I finally decided to leave and I won't be back. The food was okay. I'm a dark skinned Native American so I presumed it was because of my skin color as she was not rude at all to anyone who was not dark skinned. Nice selection of breakfast/lunch foods and seemed reasonably priced. The place was packed at lunch time on the day after Christmas. I ordered a California Delight sandwich which was turkey, bacon, tomato and cheese on a grilled sourdough...and served with steak fries. Personally, I prefer shoestring...but not a big deal. The take out box felt heavy, my order was made correctly (no cheese). But the weight was in the fries and pickle spear that came with the sandwich. There were two slices of tomato in my sandwich...small ones at that...One half of the sandwich only had 1/2 slice of tomato. Two slices of bacon and processed turkey that was cooked and folded up...maybe 3 or 4 slices. The grilled bread had a nice butter flavor to it but no crunch to it. Cost of my sandwich including tax was $7.75. If I'm in the area again before 11, I'd like to try their breakfast specials which seemed pretty reasonable. read more

This place has always been good but seems like they must have a new cook or something. My wife ordered biscuits and gravy and they used sausage links to make the gravy. I've never had gravy in a restaurant made with sausage links & the dumped so much black pepper in the gravy. Anyone who knows how to make a gravy knows that you use bulk sausage. Only go for breakfast. The roast beef sandwich is probably the worst sandwich I've had in my life. Meat was dry, with a big piece of lettuce and sandwich what bread and a squirt of mayo. It was also missing the tomato she said it comes with. Please refer to my picture. Caesar salad was lettuce, tomato, parmesan and croutons more plain that you can imagine with 2 sides of sauce. On the other hand, the fresh toast is bomb! Would come back only for that. Very old fashioned restaurant which I appreciate, but their sandwich needs to be removed or redone. I like the eggs benedict and the strawberry waffle. The dining room is small. They get extremely busy during lunch hours. Hearty portions, reasonable prices with a diverse menu. I had an omelette with bacon, avocado, spinach & mushroom (to which I added onions and Jack cheese). The hash browns were perfectly crispy and the omelette was practically exploding with fillings -- loads of crisp bacon chunks, tender sauteed onions, mushrooms and spinach. Wow! I am unfamiliar with the area and had arrived insanely early for a meeting. I had time to kill and figured that I would grab something to eat. The place was packed with locals, always a good sign, so I went in. Maui omelet. Enough said. I'm from Hawaii and anything with pineapple in it, is good enough for me. My order came quick and the wait staff were very attentive without being overbearing. The omelet was perfectly cooked and is essentially a Denver omelet only with pineapple instead of tomato. I'm going to be making a point to be crazy early to meetings in the future. If I could still eat the way I could as a kid, I'd have had two of them! This is my favorite coffee shop. I'm pretty sure it's family owned, and family works there. Their service is really great and they've always been really accommodating. Breakfast and lunch are served all day. Their menu is huge, and they're very accommodating with orders. I always order the club sandwich with fries and a cup of soup. Their two soups are split pea with ham and chicken vegetable and they're absolutely delicious!!! I always get a side of ranch dressing with my fries (the ranch is SO GOOD). Unfortunately, they close pretty early (3 on Sunday, 2 every other day I'm pretty sure), so it's best to go there for breakfast over lunch. I LOVE it here. Try it! read more

My father first took me to this restaurant when I was a child. I have come back a hundred and a half times since then. The food is excellent, staff friendly, great atmosphere. It gets packed quick, best time to go is about an hour to 45 min before they close. Its not as crowded. Food: Quesadilla appetizer is magnificent, French toast is perfect, omelettes are huge!. My favorite item to order is the club sandwich that has the beef patties instead of turkey & lots of avocado. French fries are a must and don't forget a side of ranch dressing.
