We "split" the pretzel, more like left half there cuz we were full. It was so warm and soft. Yummy!! Hubby had a burger, he said finally it's actually cooked medium. He said it was delicious and while it didn't look like a big burger, it was more than enough. He said it had great taste to it. He chose the beer Mac n cheese as his side. It was ok. They won't be winning any Mac n cheese awards. I choose the Cobb salad with grill chicken. Chicken was cooked perfectly, had a bit of spice to it but that was fine. Salad had nice fresh greens on it, plenty of half cherry tomatoes, thinly slice cucumber. I would stop for a salad again. Plus, they give you enough, you can not finish it. Had a late afternoon lunch. Haven't been in the place since way back when it was the Original Hinterland Brewery (Which moved to a location across from Lambeau Field). I like what they did with the place! Now its a brewery/restaurant/coffeehouse. Nice big bar for alcohol and a smaller one for coffee and treats. Along with bar seats they had tables and even had some sofas for comfortable conversations with friends. Wife has a tasty toasted cheese sandwich with bacon. I would highly recommend adding the bacon, because it is a very rich sandwich and the bacon just made the sandwich better. I had a Cobb Salad which was fresh and I liked the blue cheese dressing. One problem I had however was the temperature of the building... it was freezing! Like keep your winter jacket on cold! The room we were in had a large fireplace and it should have had a fire burning. Our table was located on an exposed brick wall so I'm sure that led to a much cooler experience, maybe we should have asked to move? We stopped in here for a quick lunch. The atmosphere is nice and I love the decor. The staff is friendly but the service was really slow the day we were there. We even had to ask for side plates and silverware so we could eat our appetizers. I highly recommend the Brussel sprout appetizer and the portion was huge! The pretzel was also very good and comes in two sizes. Overall good appetizers, nice atmosphere and friendly staff but very slow service. This place has a lot of potential. The food is pretty good, I will probably go back for the food and some drinks. The service is horrible. Our server was Kayti, when asking us what we wanted to eat we had explain to her that it was our first time there. I had ask what would she recommend or what was the most popular? She gave us a sour face and disregarded the question completely. We ended up ordering drinks that we did not like at all. The beers tend to be on the warmer side, I don't know about you, but I definitely don't like warm beer. The ambiance was pretty nice in the beginning but changed the moment the food came out before the drinks. I was really bummed. This place is definitely unique. I feel like the employs need to to a better job in talking it up and explaining. Nate was one of the managers and ended up talking off two of the beers at the end and letting us know that we were able to sample, three samples before making our choice. Stopped for lunch on a Wednesday. Ordered the Thai brussels as an app and they were phenomenal! Perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The feta was a great touch and balanced the heat from the sriracha and glaze perfectly. The Caprese Chicken sandwich was very good. The balsamic glaze was not overpowering and complimented the fresh mozz, basil, and tomato well. The Truffle Shuffle burger was ok. The ingredients were extremely fresh. It just lacked flavor. First time visit to Copper State. Atmosphere is very welcoming and somewhat rustic. We arrived for a late lunch on a Saturday and it was moderately busy. They offer a nice assortment of micro brews and featured drinks. We ordered the Brewben with the beer Mac n cheese and a Dousman burger also with mac n cheese. As an appetizer we ordered the beer cheese fries. The food was excellent. The only slight complaint is food took longer than it should have, there seemed to be a little confusion from the kitchen about our order, and the fries did not come out earlier as an appetizer. I love that this brewery offers food! I always get hungry when I drink, so having a kitchen is a plus! The inside a roomy, and they also have a big patio area outside. Beer 4/5: They have a good variety of different kinds of beers. I'm a big sour beer fan and was able to try 2 of them in my flight. I also chose a blonde coffee stout and peanut butter stout. The flights are cute, but kind of spendy. They are $3-5 for a 5oz pour. Food 3.5/5: My friend and I shared the brussel sprouts for our appetizer. The sweet chili sauce was delicious (possibly out of a bottle, and not made in house?) and the brussel sprouts were perfectly warm and crispy! Our burgers came undercooked. They came a step down (more rare) than we had asked. My friend didn't have much of an issue with it, but I was unable to eat much of mine. I didn't talk to our server about it, because I was too full to probably eat any more of it anyway. Service 5/5: Service was great! Our server was knowledgable about the menu items when we asked questions about them and gave recommendations when we asked for them. They do a good job of cleaning and wiping down tables after parties leave (COVID). We came on a Saturday night, so it was very busy. But there was only two of us, so we got seated quickly. Our waitress was definitely on the younger and newer side. We did have to wait quite a while for our drinks, but our waitress took them off our bill. She seemed to disappear at times for a while, but I think we were her last table of her shift. Overall the food was pretty good, but the beer mac and cheese was AMAZING! For an appetizer, we shared the loaded fries, which were alright, but the aioli they use is great! Copper State Brewing's average star rating seems to be low. This place was super trendy hit in a Wisconsin way - nobody in a pea coat talking about the cloud or how much money they make. The item I really wanted had rotated off the menu so I went with the pulled pork tacos. The shells deserve a review of their own - seriously! I'm normally not one for coleslaw but the added texture was appreciated. I enjoyed two beers - the staple 'light micro brew' in this case Rugged North Lager, as well as the Pomegranate Pucker Berliner Weisse. It didn't feel so emasculating until I just typed that last part but just tell everybody it's an IPA. The waitress was awesome as was all the staff. A friend of mine has been raving about copper state brewing for some time so my wife and I decided to give their take out a try for our anniversary. I figured even mid pandemic the beer would still be amazing and the food should still be decent. Correct on the beer and dead wrong on the food. Food was amazing as take out so we absolutely have to go back when everything is open for a sit down meal. Came downtown and found a very nicely decorated and well designed brewery with plenty of parking. I tried the flight of four of the different of the many beers that have to choose from. They also have a coffee shop that runs from 6:30 until 4pm, the kitchen opens at 11. Craig, behind the bar, was very helpful and informative.
