The food at our hotel was way too eclectic for our taste. So a quick Yelp search brought us to this lovely place. It was a 5 minute drive from the hotel (The Settler's Inn) and has a parking lot. We were seated right away. It could've been because it was below freezing, it was the middle of January in the Poconos. They have large flatscreens and there was a football game on. The food was great. We had fried mozzarella to start off with. I'm a fan of anything dealing with cheese and is fried. I had a chicken wrap. It came with chips. The wrap was good. The portions were great for the price. I had to talk half of my food back for later. If I'm ever back in that area of the Pocono's I'll be sure to stop by for a quick bite to eat! read more

Came in and was greeted by a friendly women. Got seated in a moderately dark room and it was very loud. When we were seated and handed our menus I noticed that they were cheap paper menus. Our waitress came to our table and seemed very rushed as if she didn't want to be here. We ordered and appetizers came out very quick (the fried mozzarella), it was perfectly crispy and the cheese was very stringy. Though, I will say they had barely any flavor and needed more seasoning. Right as we finished our appetizers our dinners were out shortly after. I ordered the Caesar salad and it was not good at all. The cheese tasted as if it was not fresh and the dressing was sour. I order Cora's takeout once a month at least and dine in whenever I can. The food is always yummy and portions are generous! Prices aren't ridiculous and the service is generally good, especially at the bar. We love their wing night special on Monday, been enjoying for over 10 years. Don't expect anything fancy--yes they have paper menus, yes the bar can be loud...but it's a hometown favorite and locals love it. If you're uptight and from the city, eat somewhere else and save more room for us ;) BTW try her homemade desserts...sooo good! read more

We had reservations at 7:15pm,Sunday 7/16/23. We arrived and asked to sit in the dining room, and were told that we could not because they close at 8pm and needed to vacuum. As we were having this discussion a waitress approached and had a discussion with our Hostess(?) that the Chef needed to speak with her and about an order and her comment was about how she was going to get in trouble for something. I could of told her that it was only to clarify whether or not she wanted peppers or no peppers as I heard the Chef's comments through the open kitchen door upon my arrival. We were seated at the table's along the outside area of the bar, next to a table in the bar area -whom the guests were very loud. We ordered appetizers - fried spicy buffalo cauliflower and crab stuffed mushrooms. Crab stuffed mushrooms were mushy, bland and had no flavor as they were covered in sauce. I asked my family to try them to make sure it was not just my taste buds, they too did not like them. I sent them back telling the waitress we didn't like them. Caesar salad was drenched in dressing. My sister ordered an end cut of the prime rib, the waitress flat out said "NO"- not I'm sorry, or let me ask the Chef. She ordered it well done and it came out med rare! So it had to be refired. The staff seemed irritated and gave the impression that all they cared about was gettingus out of there..To my surprise the crab stuffed mushrooms were still on the bill, when I asked if they could be removed the waitress asked and returned saying no. I realize we ate 2 of the 5 mushrooms, so at least take off 1/2 or give us a complimentary dessert. The bill came to over $100 and to me it was not worth it. As a tradition on my last night in town, we go out for a nice dinner. We go out not only to eat but for the experience. They definably missed the mark! read more

I was in the area for a few days and looking to explore the restaurants. There were many obvious choices but the locals all pointed me in this direction (which happened to be on a side street nearly behind my hotel!). Out of all the places I went to this was the stand out and in fact I went twice! First off the place was steady during the week when most places were dead this time of year (lots of locals taking out food here as well). Laid back decor as this looks like a converted house or something and is sort of nestled in a neighborhood just enough off the main stretch. Of course I chose to sit at the bar, just more comfy for a one man party crew such as myself. I was there on 'Aww Shucks' night which certainly fits the bill for this bivalve connoisseur. Oysters for a buck ? Got me there so I rang up six to start the night. Large and mild but really super fresh, against all desire I held off my oyster craving and stopped but man... I could down two dozen of these, easy, and twice on Sundays. On to the entree which I pulled off the specials (the regular menu looked great though). Basically it was a huge portion of shellfish offered in various forms (alfredo etc.) of which I chose fra diavlo. Portion? Wow, not a problem, I couldn't finish it. All the seafood was delish (the lobster was cooked a hair over what it should have been, small complaint, the clams and mussels were perfect however). Decent enough beer selection (does every place have Lagunita's around here?). Good service although you would think it would be a little more attentive considering it is the slow season. But the grub... that is where it is at. And let me not be remiss to say how darn good the asparagus was... seriously ! second night: Ragin' Cajun Pasta with andouille sausage and shrimp over spicy alfredo penne pasta ... flat out.. awesome (and a regular menu offering). had reservations showed up. They sat us at a high table in the bar. My wife and sister-in-law have disabilities. I asked if we could sit at one of the available low tables. The maître d' said I sent you where I sat you deal with then I ordered chicken franchise and it looked like there was a scrambled egg on top of my chicken and that was the breading didn't stay in me long as I got home I had to rush to the bathroom. This was the third time I This was the third time I was there and every time I go there there's a problem the first time the service was so terrible and slow but they blamed Covid this time. It was just an ignorant maître d' and snotty waitresses they're done I will be telling everybody I know to stay away from Cora's. There's a better place right up the street. read more

Ordered take out from here while visiting Ledges. We ordered the wings based on the Yelp reviews that we saw. The wings were small but fried well - crispy on the outside and relatively good on the inside. I would however beg to differ that they are the best wings as other reviews have stated; perhaps they might be in the area, but I was just visiting. Their popular "OMG" sauce is actually BBQ sauce. The burger was good and the bun it was on was excellent. Fries, fried really well. This restaurant is super close to Ledges Hotel in case you have a late night hankering. read more

As a vegan/pescatarian I didn't think there would be anything I could eat at this place, but they had a selection of fish entrees - so I got the raspberry glazed tuna - and it was incredible!! Do make sure to request veggies without butter if you are also vegan, because they come buttered by default. My partner got a sandwich and it was huge! Cora's used to be one of my favorite places to have dinner but after the treatment we received on Saturday (Feb 15th) my husband has vowed never to return. We made a reservation for 4:00 PM and arrive a few minutes early. I'm not complaining that we had to wait, I'm complaining that we were completely ignored when we first came in. Then, finally someone said, "Do you have a reservation?" We said that we did and were told to wait. The wait wasn't too long, and when we were seated, the waitress took our drink orders. The drinks arrived, but nobody took our order. Half an hour later, the woman who had brought our drinks asked if our order had been taken and we said no. She said she would take care of that and disappeared. It took a good 15 or 20 minutes before she came back and asked if our order had been taken. When we said no, she took our order. By the time our appetizer arrived, we had been sitting there for over an hour. The food was good, but not as good as it has been in the past. When we made the reservation, we specifically said that we were celebrating my granddaughter's birthday and asked if they can bring out her dessert with a candle and sing happy birthday. "Of course," we were told. "No problem." Her dessert did have a candle in it. The waitress lighted it and then walked away. To add insult to injury after this bad, slow service, as we were finishing our coffee and dessert, the waitress came up to us and said, "The next people who reserved this table have arrived." If they had treated us better and taken our order when we were seated, we probably would have been done. But I think it was pretty rude to rush us out when there were plenty of other empty tables around and the people at the next table were there when we arrived and still there when we left. read more

Quaint restaurant we went after bike rail tour. Few restaurants open for lunch in the area on a Sunday. Bright exterior but the inside is a little worn... could use a facelift. Busy for a Sunday lunch crowd , and they definitely need more help, but good comfort food and quantities massive. Butternut squash soup was good but on the sweet side. We had naked wings, crispy and fried well. Sweet potato fries were very good with the cinnamon dip, tasted like a churro. Spinach salad fresh. Sunday prime rib dinner would skip next time. If you like taking your time, this is the place for you! Relax, sit back, and enjoy the S. L. O. W. ride. For the first 10 minutes you wait for someone to take a drink order, you'll debate about whether to go somewhere else- don't. You can literally watch the men in your party grow 5 o'clock shadows. We walked in one night and were told that the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes. No problem, we offered to leave. We were told that if we ordered quickly, we could be served. We looked at the menu and were ready to go- and no one came for a good 15 minutes. When the blonde waitress who sat us returned ,she took a drink order and left the table in a huff when we could have placed the order right then. If she had a nickel for every time she rolled her eyes, she wouldn't have to wait tables anymore, because she'd be rich. Place is cute. Service is unfriendly and feels like a rushed diner but very slow. I am always a 25% tipper but just could not do it here. Maybe for the bar service. I ordered the prime rib which came when everyone who ordered more casual fair were finishing. The bread was cold and hard, salad dressing half frozen, lettuce near frozen, broccoli very undercooked and unseasoned. I didn't try the potato as it looked overcooked with the cheese burnt on it. The prime rib was cold on one side but overall decent... not great..except I just wanted to leave by then. A lot of people ordered it and the price was great. New Favorite Place - I was pleasantly surprised. I was a little thrown off by the extensive menu but since I filled up on the AMAZING and GIANTICS pretzel I went simple with chicken finger basket. Had my Son and Daughters Confirmation dinner there last night and everyone raved about the food! It was a sit down style with a choice of 3 and no one had a bad thing to say about any of the dishes. We have been here a few times now, and it's quickly become our favorite dinner spot in the Lake Wallenpaupack area. First of all, they have Jell-O shots! We love to start off with those. The steak sandwich is amazing, hubby loves the shrimp basket. The chicken and waffles is delicious but it's huge and a little pricey so I recommend sharing if that's your choice. The salad dressings are house made and truly among the best we've ever had. Also, don't miss the wings. Seriously. Don't. Miss. Them. Now let's spend a minute on dessert. We are usually too full to even think about it, but last visit we were with a group so decided to get a few to go. We got the peanut butter pie, the cinnamon roll cheesecake, and the carrot cake. All 3 were incredible. Also house made! It was enough for 2+ nights with all of us sharing them. Crazy good. It's always busy so occasionally it takes a little while, but who cares.
