It was very bland. I got the GF Mac and cheese and it was crunchy, Mac and cheese shouldn't CRUNCH! The poke is okay. The quinoa was under cooked. The drinks have little flavor. In an effort to make healthy food choices,, I have started eating here A LOT and now love it. I ordered a few things initially that I did not like but I now order the tuna poke fire bowl on a weekly basis. If you like really spicy food and pickled veggies (cabbage, sprouts) then you will like this. I also love the chicken chipotle bowl. The fruit, chicken and quinoa green bowl is also delish as is the Mediterranean green bowl. A couple of critiques: they serve the falafel kind of cold. I've had better falafel. My daughter ordered the tofu once and it was rock hard because it was so over cooked. We made a game of dropping it on the table to see if it would bounce. For a while they were overcooking the meats as well as the tofu (not the tuna poke of course) but seem that be doing better with that so perhaps I should give the tofu another try. Finally a place to get great food- fast! Good sized portions and plentiful selection to choose from. You can also create a custom bowl if you prefer. I love the fresh ingredients, and my experience with those behind the counter has been exceptional. The honey-ginger lemonade is sooo good, as well as the apple cider green tea. A couple of not-so-greats that kept this from being a 5-star review is 1. The parking and access is not good, especially during the busier times, and 2. The broth bowls are not good. We have eaten here a few times and the service is terrible. The people serving the food tend to talk to each other more than the customer. The food is great. The parking and service is terrible. My daughter and I placed an online order so we could pick it up and run. When we got there, it was after 2pm. It was not busy, the staff stood around and talked to one another, ate food in the back and ignored us waiting for our order. When they begrudgenly asked if they could help us, they said the order was being made. The order had not been started. People that came in after us that got served quicker. We waited 20 minutes for our "no line online" order. Not only was it slow, we got dirty looks as they made our food as slowly as possible. Too bad as the food is good. First time there - not a great experience. Online take out menu on phone was impossible to use (can't see whole menu), so called and got a very nice person to take the order. Checkout person when i arrived was not helpful at all - all sauces were piled in one bag and she wouldn't take time to tell me what bowl was what and what sauce went with what. Seems annoyed i had to pay there, and didn't give me a receipt. Handed me bread loosely wrapped in open napkin. Was ignored by one person when i asked for sauce help, but another finally did assist me. THEN - i ordered the Coconut Curry Chicken Soup and it was SO HOT it was inedible. Nothing in the description noted that, and curry is not usually like that. While the salad and bowl was good, not sure i'll be back. read more

We went for the grand opening tonight and it was fairly crowded the entire time we were there - everyone seemed excited to try it. I like that they have pictures and descriptions of the menu items in the area where you wait in line instead of just at the front where you order. I wanted to try the pork Korean BBQ bowl but they were out of pork so I got the Chicken ranch bowl instead. Chicken was fresh and the sauce had good flavor. The purple rice was very filling as a base. I've been to places where they use way too much seasoning and sauce but CoreLife avoided this pitfall. If anything, the bowl lacked a little sauce, but they have bottles of several sauces (I got spicy Thai) at the front by the silverware. I'd much rather add my own sauce/seasoning rather than have something be drenched in something. I also like that they can cater to dietary restrictions and food allergies. Our friend got tofu in his bowl and said it was quite good. I will definitely be back to try more options here soon like the bone broth bowls. Overall, thankful to have a solid healthy option near me, but I hope they can shorten the waiting time as it would be hard to get in and out quickly enough for a lunch hour during the week. read more

I had a terrific experience there the first two times. The older AA cashier is super sweet and friendly. She would be the only reason I might consider going back. On my third visit I got the Korean BBQ bowl which is pretty much all I order. I asked for the egg to be fried hard with the yoke broken. Well they didn't do that and the egg was runny. I brought it back and the younger slightly plump lighter skinned AA girl with the NASTY attitude acted like it was a problem. She just removed the egg. I said no. The egg ran into my food. She prepared it again slamming everything into the bowl like it was costing her money. Then the manager prepared the egg and he didn't seem to understand fried hard. After everyone seemed aggravated, I got my order and left. I returned last Wednesday. The same bad attitude girl was there. I asked for the Korean bowl with the fried egg yolk broken fried hard. After pouring a vat of canola oil in the grill the gentleman fried the egg. I had to keep saying fried hard break the yolk. Is that so hard to understand?? We the egg was sooo oily I told them to put it in a separate container. First of all canola oil is poison. It is GMO. So all the healthy ingredients mean nothing when you're covering them in GMOs. I threw the egg away at the first trash can. When the guy finished frying the egg my bowl just sat on the counter. The cashier was in the back, the person who prepared the bowl went in the back and the rude girl was ignoring it. I had to ASK could someone please finish my bowl so I could leave!!! The mean in the bowl was tough. Service and food has been steadily declining at each visit. I'm probably done with Core Eatery. Do better!!! read more

For what you get, a lot of mostly non-organic vegetables, and a dusting of meat, I don't this this place is worth the $9+ cost of their cheapest meal. If you want double meat, it will cost around $13-14. And even with double meat, it still isn't enough protein if you are an adult who exercises. I got the BBQ chicken ranch rice bowl and it was really good! I subbed out tofu for the chicken and it was all seasoned really well. The ingredients were fresh and full of flavor. The print ads look better than the real thing tastes. Food servers seem ill-trained and apathetic. Food in bins (sitting there awhile) served barely warm and becomes cold by the time you sit down to eat it. My Powerplate with roasted veggies tasted just ok, but the tofu was absolutely tasteless. The Shitake Mushroom Bowl...tasteless. They need to rethink the harsh lighting of intensely bright bulbs that glare which quickly becomes annoying. All this with a McDonalds ambiance for $10.50 a plate. No thanks. Speaking as a vegetarian, the concept of a Greensboro restaurant with alternative choices is a good one; however, if problems stated aren't addressed and soon show improvement, I suspect few return-customers to this prime real estate location until another eating establishment opens there. There needs to be an option to have your tuna cooked or raw. Some people do not eat raw fish. Then we asked if they could sear it (because it doesn't take long to cook tuna) and she looked at us like we were crazy. After she gave us attitude she put it in the steamer but that did absolutely nothing. I'm writing for my mom who is too nice to leave a bad review, but they can learn from their mistakes. Honestly, this place is probably a 3.5 based off the food, but the service at both the local and corporate level is terrible, plus it is overpriced. We have eaten here four times, once dinning in and three times take out. Every time, even in person, something was forgotten. In person, it wasn't a big deal because we could just go back up and fix it. Take out was obnoxious, because it wasn't worth the time and gas to go back for the kale (which made up most of the bowl) they left off or the dressing they didn't include. We reached out to the corporate office and never heard back. Even if this place wasn't so expensive, it would still be rated the way it was. I ate here last week and that would've been my third time visiting. I ordered the Chicken Cob Salad which was very delicious and the portion size is enough for 2 meals. A few things make this place great. The food service is set up just like Chipotle, a line of people and your food is made in front of you, however, unlike Chipotle, the staff here actually seem happy as well as friendly and not annoyed to make your food. Personally, I don't care if an employee at a random establishment is annoyed or unhappy as I usually am in a rush and just trying to grab a quick meal or just be in and out to get on with my day, however, their pleasant demeanor really adds a bright atmosphere to the place. The open window decor is also nice, even in bad weather you can watch from the inside as you enjoy your delicious food comfortable inside. I love the variety too, they have heavy meaty protein type meals or you can customize them to your liking and they also have vegan, vegetarian and just generally healthy things to choose from that actually taste very good as well as detailed menus showing the nutritional information. I'm on a low carb diet and also a healthier eating kick and it's very easy to order something there without breaking any of your dietary restrictions. The first time I ate at CoreLife I somehow ended up ordering an entire bowl of kale and chick peas, so tonight I wanted to give it another try. Friday night early dinner at 5:45 and there were only 2 customers in front of us already half way through their orders. There were 6 employees and a manager. They were SO incredibly slow, I can't imagine what it's like at lunch hour. As my bowl passed each station, they just seemed so confused. It took what seemed like forever to finish our order. Anyway, everything looked fresh and vibrant and I went with the Taco Bowl. Seemed like a popular choice and the toppings sounded so good. Wrong. It all just tasted bland and under seasoned. Everything needed a good sprinkle of salt. There was about 1oz of chicken tinga, it was the smallest portion I'd ever seen at any restaurant, and once I tasted it, I didn't even care to have more than that 1oz. There were maybe 2 shreds of white cheddar in my bowl. Crumbs from the last bits of tortilla strips. The best part of the meal was the Beet Lemonade. So disappointing. My family dined there today. What a disappointment! My husband's chicken noodle soup was lukewarm, consisted mostly of noodles and raw carrots and was bland. My chicken Caesar salad was tasteless. My son complained that his dish consisted mostly of bland cabbage. My daughter-in-law's Ahia tuna salad was too spicy with too many peppers. Even our drinks were horrible. My husband's cranberry lemonade was too tart and burned his throat. My honey ginger lemonade was tasteless. We all left wishing we had gone somewhere else.
