While on a business trip to Austin this week, my co-worker and I enjoyed 3 breakfasts at Coriinne Austin, trying different dishes each time. Kudos to our server Victoria for outstanding service and to chef Bella for executing a wide range of dishes flawlessly. I ordered 'soft' scrambled eggs twice, on non-consecutive days, and each time, they came out perfectly creamy. I've spent years experimenting with various techniques to achieve this, including on a flattop griddle at home, so I'm keenly aware of the skill it takes to pull off creamy scrambled eggs at a busy hotel restaurant - not just once, but twice. The perfectly seasoned fingerling potatoes were always crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Both the chicken and pork sausages were encased in thin, crunchy skins and the meat for both types was juicy and flavorful. I should mention that the chicken sausage was surprisingly sweet, almost as if maple syrup was an ingredient in the sausage blend, and not to my personal taste. But that's not a negative for my review. The biscuits, though a bit smaller than the typical southern buttermilk version, were tender and flaky, with a firm crust and the buttery flavor that one expects from a warm-from-the-oven treat such as this. Slathered with delicious strawberry preserves and butter served on the side, they are insanely delicious. Don't mind the calories. Go for a jog from the restaurant to the hotel door or the elevators and you'll have walked most of it off. Right? Both of the two greek yogurt dishes (fruit + granola parfait and the acai + fruit bowl with house-made almond granola) that I tried, along with my coworker, were hearty and well-executed. The acai bowl kept both of us energized throughout a physically demanding afternoon. When lunchtime rolled around, neither of us felt hungry. I rarely rate any restaurant with 5 stars. But given the context (ordinary hotel cafe in Austin TX at very reasonable prices in a comfortable, well-appointed environment), Corrine Austin earned it. read more

PLEASE! I was in Austin for 3 nights and had dinner here all 3 nights. What's wrong with me? And this wasn't even in my hotel. These were deliberate decisions to return because of my utter obsession! The first night, I had the burger. Pretty good! But honestly nothing exceptional. To drink, I had the Bee Keeper. Too tart. Didn't like it much. So that experience would be more of a 4/5. But the second night I knew I wanted the bucatini truffle pasta and the basil margarita cocktail so I got just that and was oh so very satisfied! Even so that I got the exact same thing the third night. The last 2 nights, we also got the bread and I kid you not, that was by far THE BEST bread I've ever had and I eat bread like I'm tryna give myself a gluten allergy (don't come at me, I know that's not how it works, but it's the joke that's funny) Will I be back? Dined here for our anniversary dinner and this place is seriously good. Not a lot of people in the dining room on a weekday night, and the lighting is intimate without being too annoyingly dark. We ordered the Burrata Cheese, Ora King Salmon, Braised Wagyu, and the Bread Pudding. The Burrata Cheese was a perfect starter. The cheese was delicious and the apricot mostarda was addicting. The bread was grilled enough to easily hold all the toppings without it being too hard to bite through. The almonds added a nice crunchy texture. The salmon was pretty tender, and you can tell how fatty the fish is. The fish was seasoned perfectly and the broccolini nicely charred. The soubise sauce on the salmon was so good as well. You can customize how done the wagyu is cooked, which is unexpected since it was braised. But the beef was delicious and tender. Nicely charred, the pieces had some good, flavorful fatty bits as well. The mushrooms soaked up the wine nicely and the carrots were cooked perfectly. Every component had a purpose and were all cooked really well. At the end, the bread pudding came out smoking hot and was a perfect end the meal. The bread was charred and soaked up all the sauces. The ice cream on top was great as well. Would definitely come back and try their other dishes. The quality is well worth the price, and the small menu is indicative of the effort put in each dish. read more

Corinne is an upscale establishment in downtown Austin. We came to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and started off the night with the wagyu tartare appetizer. For our entrees, we ordered the truffle bucatini and ora king salmon. - wagyu tartare: 7/10. I don't usually order tartare but decided to try it and it was pretty good. The wagyu was mixed in with many spices and capers topped with a salted yolk. The bread that it came with was kind of hard to chew, but overall not bad. The tartare could have also been plated better, but that's just me being nit-picky. - truffle bucatini: 10/10. This was so good to me. The noodles were so bouncy and chewy. It had a good truffle flavor and was very cheesy and buttery. if you're in the mood for pasta- definitely get this! -ora king salmon: 10/10 The salmon was cooked to perfection- crispy on the outside and very moist in the center still (medium well!) The sides that it came with (lentils and broccolini) paired so well with the salmon. We got this last time and it was the best salmon we've ever had, so we just had to get it again this time. So good. We also got two cocktails - the strawberry basil marg and the gin and tonic- both very good and strong. Great place for a celebration with yummy foods. The only reason it's not getting a 5 is because the menu is not very unique, but everything they do serve is done really well. It would be nice to see some seasonal changes to the menu! read more

Gave Corinne a try during a recent visit to Austin. It's in the lobby of the Marriott but it has its own space which has a nice atmosphere. Service is a strength here...server was friendly and attentive and the timing of the courses was good. We liked all the food. We started with the burrata and crab croquettes, both of which were very tasty and well executed. We also had the salmon and the bone in pork chop. Salmon was good. The pork chop is the only think we wouldn't recommend. We finished with the bread pudding which was very good. All in all, solid, well-managed place that's well above the average for hotel restaurants. read more

So let me start by saying the food was off the hook. This was a surprise visit brought on by my two daughters, and to say, I was pleasantly surprised as an understatement. This was a quaint little restaurant tucked in the Westin in the domain area in Austin Texas. When I tell you, the service here was amazing would be an understatement. One of my favorite things about this restaurant was that the general manager, Ivan, walking by each table in the restaurant, talking to the patrons and making sure their meal was to par or asking if they needed anything. Haven't seen that in a while, and it was very refreshing to know they wanted feedback and that they cared about what customers thought about their food. They also have some very nice brunch deals. One was buy a bottle of champagne and get one free for your endless mimosa. If you haven't tried this restaurant start on a brunch, it's beautiful. *COVID Dining Experience* This has been one of my favorite dining experiences in a while. The hostess and waitress so were so kind and accommodating to us. They take all the necessary precautions such as masking and spacing out parties. Our food came fairly quickly and was absolute amazing. I think the feel of the place is bougie casual dining. It was kind of loud inside but not too loud where we absolutely couldn't hear each other talking. We ordered the following Oysters: We only got two, but I wish we ordered more! They were very clean and tasted so fresh! I would highly recommend them. Sometimes oysters can have sediment or taste excessively fishy, but these oysters had none of those qualities. Crab Croquettes: Warm, buttery goodness! These are by far the best croquettes I've ever had. There were ample amounts of crab in each of the croquettes and they tasted so sweet and juicy. The white sauce that accompanied these fried balls of scrumptiousness was amazing! It was slightly tangy with a nice and rich creamy flavor. Braised Wagyu Beef: Their wagyu was definitely very well made. It melts in your mouth like good wagyu should. The rainbow carrots were perfectly cooked as well with a nice crunch on that added some needed texture to everything. There was a good balance of different mushrooms that accompanied all the other vegetables and protein. I loved the flavor of the demi-glaze, it wasn't too sweet, salty or overpowering but had just the right balance. Wild Mushroom Bolognese: By far our favorite dish of the night. The sauce was spectacularly seasoned and cooked. You could tell they put a lot of time into it. Their pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. What a disappointment. Let me preface this review by saying that I *really*, really really hate leaving two star reviews but after being here twice, I can't help but feel that it is justified. Drinks Experience: The first time we had drinks in the lobby area and the area was served by the lone bartender, meaning we'd get the opportunity to place orders in between him making a few drinks at a time. They were also out of several wines (the menu is electronic, Why not just update it!?). Second time we came for brunch. Lured by the 4.5 star rating, I was intrigued if a hotel Restaurant/bar could truly offset the stereotype of being mediocre, but I'm afraid it couldn't. Brunch Experience; We were promptly seated but it took almost ten minutes for our server to come to the table, I might add that there were a lot of staff running around the restaurant holding empty trays and napkins but for some reason that was more important than serving a diner. When we finally did order we got the following: Avocado Hummus The presentation was nice as far as the crudite vegetables, not so nice for the Hummus and Olive Tapenade. Both were clearly not home made and tasted like a generic H-E-B dip. Mushroom and Spinach Egg White Omelette Just bad. It's pretty hard to screw up an omelette but they managed. Firstly the omelette had more of a fried-egg consistency, was absolutely dripping in oil and was pretty much absent of the purported havarti cheese (not sure where all the oil was coming from!?, Not sure I want to know). Moreover, the mushrooms we're not cooked fully, they tasted like they had been freshly defrosted from a frozen freezer bag. The hash it was served with was rock hard and tasted stale, it was also burnt and very dry (odd considering how much oil was dripping around it). I also ordered hot Earl Grey tea. I don't know what tea we were given but it wasn't Earl Grey and didn't taste flash. Between the slow service, medicare food and the fact that uncleaned tables were seemingly left unattended in the dining room, I regret to say that I couldn't recommend this restaurant right now. Being a Bonvoy Titanium member of Marriott's reward program, I always try to keep an open mind on their in-house dining but I just think this restaurant has a lot of work to do. read more

Soooo this place is new but definitely worth trying! From your first steps into the establishment, you are greater with smiles and enthusiastic staff! Our waiter was Damon, and let me tell you--- he is a gem! He was energetic and very helpful with helping me decide what to get! We had a little mishap with my order but nothing too big. The general manager, Mick, was great and worked to make sure we were satisfied---which we were! Everything I tried was great, from the crab croquettes, my omelet, the shortcake!!!, even my latte! Corinne Austin isn't just a hotel restaurant just because it shares the building with the Marriott. Great food and drinks. I ordered the steak frites which was delicious. I also ordered the Mac n cheese which was really hyped up but it wasn't great. The crispy top was nice but not much cheesy flavor. I'd get the steak again though and the mezcal drink. Our server was clearly new and not the best but hopefully that improves with time. Corinne is a great restaurant with a big bar. read more

A little unnecessarily over-complicated, the "crusty capers" were a bit soggy, the avocado spread maybe not 100% fresh. The chicken noodle soup had delicious flavor but incorrectly advertised. Perhaps minor however I expected the pasta noodle as advertised not the big bulky curly type it came with. Pasta type matters. Stated mushrooms as an added ingredient and there was literally 3 tiny slivers of a mushroom. Other guest ordered Salmon and it was under cooked (almost raw). Sent it back and had it remade and the dish was super salty. She couldn't even eat it. Server didn't care and I think maybe was in training. Limited care, concern and check ins. Had 515 reservation on 12/25. One guest had food allergies. When I called I was assured server would discuss w/us when seated. Saw server twice. Never discussed food allergies. I gave person on phone all allergies. Unless guest asked about ingredients he would have been served dessert w offending allergen. Took 30+ minutes to get entrees. My friends and I decided to try this place for happy hour after work and after seeing new reviews pop up about it opening recently! Note that their happy hour offers are apparently only for those seated at the bar, however, our server was kind enough to honor the drink happy hour prices for us at our table. No. I'm sorry but this food was incredibly disappointing. Bestie and I both ordered food to go. My order: Bucatini with a side of broccolini and the rolls Bestie's order: Rotisserie chicken, buffalo cauliflower 1. Rolls. They didn't include butter with the rolls. Not a big deal except they were so DRY. We literally picked this place because we thought the bread looked so good and didn't even eat it except one piece a piece. Terrible. 2. Bucatini. The pasta was cooked in too much butter or olive oil. I didn't eat more than 1/3 of it. 3. Broccolini. It was fine. I ate mine and she ate all of hers. 4. Chicken. The chicken tasted like it was cooked in water. She didn't eat it. 5. Cauliflower. I can't even start with this. I laughed until I cried at her reaction of how bad it tasted. She threw it away immediately. We're from Dallas and enjoy good food but I had to eat cheese and crackers after because I was still hungry but refused to eat that food. Good luck! read more

Fairly new restaurant in downtown Austin with a large patio area. Would recommend making reservations, came here for brunch around 1pm on a Saturday and it was nearly packed. The music plays fairly loud so I would skip this place for a first date. Parking is nightmare, but that isn't a surprise as it is downtown Austin. No parking lot, street parking is near impossible at the peak of brunch time on a weekend, and the closest parking garage is a few blocks away. It costed $10 to park there for the duration of our meal. The food was very good, although portions were quite small for the price. For the Rotisserie Chicken Tinga, I really enjoyed the crunch of the tostada with the soft ingredients of avocado, egg, beans, and tomatoes. read more

Happy accident! While Dan was conferencing, I ate around! I meant to go to Caroline for breakfast, but ended up at Corinne ‍ which turned out to be quite good. Ordered a Corncake Benedict, which is basically a thick, grilled (polenta) corncake used in place of the English muffin topped with fresh tomatoes and avocado. The server, Justin was attentive and just the right amount of chatty friendliness. I am not much of a coffee drinker, but whatever coffee they serve here was not bitter and quite smooth. Overall, I am happy to have accidentally ended up here in the Marriott's restaurant. read more

Great cocktails, food didn't impress me that much. I was there during brunch/lunch hours so perhaps the dinner menu has better offerings. The lunch menu didn't have many choices. I wound up going with the wagyu burger but it wasn't the experience you expect from wagyu. The meat was quite dry and lacked that beautiful juicy marbling this type of meat is known for. I've had some burgers that have really knocked my socks off, but this one just didn't do it for me. It was something you could get anywhere. The restaurant does have a nice ambiance, and would be a good spot to bring a date. read more

I was visiting my daughter in Austin this weekend and we went to quite a few restaurants and bars. On my last night there, we decided to eat at Corinne since I was staying at the Marriott downtown. We were greeted by the hostess with the biggest smile. That smile set the tone for our evening. Our server highlighted certain dishes and we decided on the Parker House rolls,crab croquettes, avocado and kale salad with rotisserie chicken, shoestring fries and baked Mac & cheese. Everything was so good. I was skeptical about the Mac & cheese but the cheese sauce was so flavorful and the dish had a crunchy toasted topping!
