Fun and vibey restaurant Inside the Hetel Van Zant. I came for bunch with girlfriends. We had reservations for 12;30 and were seated right away. The atmosphere was driven by a DJ with a saxophone accompanist. Possibly a bit cheesy, but still fun. The place was hopping and quite energetic when we arrived. We ordered the French 76 cocktail, which we all enjoyed, and our meals: the chilaquilles and the pork carnitas torte. All delicious. This place is fun and the food is good. Maybe a bit pricey for what you get, but it's a hotel restaurant so sort of expected. Thumbs up I'd come back.

We did their Christmas experience, which was memorable overall. It was definitely on the expensive side, but we were celebrating a friend's birthday, so it felt appropriate for a special occasion. The tent was cozy and added to the experience. I enjoyed most of the food. Oysters were good, the tomahawk steak was tender, and the pork was excellent and very tender. The eggnog drink was sweet and creamy and came in the cutest cup, I honestly wanted to take it home Portions didn't quite match the price, but aside from that, it wasn't bad. Service was good, and everyone was polite and attentive.

I really wanted to love Geraldine's because I have been wanting to try it for a long time. The food was pretty good. I ordered the burger and I enjoyed it, but unfortunately, my visit was tarnished by the service. Our server didn't communicate well. We did have a larger group so we expected some wait time, but four of us ordered the frozen drink and 20 minutes later were told that the frozen drink machine wasn't working well and to give it a few more minutes. Ten minutes later we were told that it wasn't working at all. That was fine, but let us know sooner and we could've chosen something else. Another time we asked for mustard, she brought honey mustard. We politely mentioned it was honey mustard and she responded "well, that's what we have" and walked away. When you're paying $20 for a burger, you don't think it'll come with a side of sass. This continued to happen throughout the meal. Not sure we'll be back.

Stopped in to grab a quick drink. My wife ordered a Pinot Grigio from Italy ($16) and I ordered a non-alcoholic 0.0 Heineken ($7). The drinks were good. Service was good. Beautiful restaurant. The food looked amazing. We'll go back to have dinner one night.

Came here for brunch with my two youngest daughters. It took awhile to find decent parking (should have used the hotel's valet) in a sketchy neighborhood. Pearl was a good server. We ordered eggs Benedict, a cheeseburger, overnight oats with fruit, and biscuits. Food was okay. Live jazz musicians were great.

This classy sophisticated brunch restaurant was delightful and unexpectedly great. Probably the best eggs Benedict of my life. The waitress was polite and food came out really quickly. Definitely recommend

We had a reservation on a Saturday and we were seated within 15 minutes of our reservation however after ordering, it took over an hour for us to get our food. I ordered the French Toast and was not impressed - the center was very doughy. A few of my friends ordered the Benedict and one of my friend's side salads was so salty and it made it inedible.

We came here for our anniversary brunch and loved it! There was live jazz in the morning, which made the vibe so nice. The food was solid--we tried the avocado toast (it was okay), but the chilaquiles were amazing! They also gave us a free cinnamon roll, and honestly, it was the best thing we had. Overall, great atmosphere, awesome service, and good food. Definitely recommend!

This was one of my favorite meals while I was visiting Austin. The ambiance, the service, and the food were all on 100. It's a little more upscale than nearby restaurants so definitely put on a nice outfit if you're coming here. Our waiter was really nice & service was pretty quick. For food- Everything here is made to share so i recommend ordering about 2-3 dishes per person. The biscuits are a must!! They were so so good. I also really enjoyed the scallops and the buttermilk chess pie. I don't eat meat but my friends raved about the Korean fried chicken. We also tried the two pasta dishes - creste di gallo pasta & the Cacio e pepe, I prefer the latter. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the desert called arroz con leche. Things are a little pricey here but this restaurant is definitely worth the splurge.

Dessert, Buttermilk Chess Pie (15). Yum!

Does the restaurant offer happy hour specials?

Does it get loud here during dinner time?

Yes it does, even in the private dining areas. It's not unbearably loud though, you should be fine depending on the size of your party. They also have live entertainment on certain nights which adds to the loudness.

Anything vegan at this spot? Thanks.

Not sure but I will ask. The ceviche taco is made with Cobia

This place is an Austin institution and one of the best places in the city to experience live music. This historic venue has been a local hangout for great music since the 1950s. While it has been a long time since I have been to the Continental club, it still felt truly Austin and very unpretentious. In the Continental Club you are literally I feet away from the live music. A dog was sleeping on stage, which made the place feel homey. The club is small and intimate, exuding a super personal persona. In addition, the sound quality is excellent for such a small venue. Tonight we listened to Hot Club Cowtown...they sounded folksy and a bit country western yet enjoyable to listen to. Folks were boot scooting, so maybe more country western. Mike the doorman was super personable and helpful. He happily provided the WIFI password and was super engaging. In addition, it is important to note the cover was free until 9 pm. So let me make sure to give ACL its due props! I was encouraged by my ex to put my name on the RSVP list for this exclusive experience and I hesitated at first. I tend to avoid all things in downtown. But I'm glad I didn't ignore this. Jon Batiste is not just hype. He is the real thing. Pure talent, fully present and full of joy, he is poetry in motion. Being able to experience a performance like that at ACL, free of charge, felt special in a way that's hard to explain. As my baby used to say, it was COSMIC. Austin City Limits ran the event flawlessly. The staff was kind, organized, and they clearly knew what they were doing. Our seats were super high up, but the view of the stage below was very good. We missed part of the intimate opening set down below right in front of the VIP section (an intentional special treat for them), but it was easy to appreciate why special donors were treated to that moment up close. What really stood out was the second half of the show. Jon Batiste and his band turned the venue into a New Orleans style second line, moving through the crowd, singing/dancing/playing music, eventually making their way up to the upper levels by us. It was thoughtful, inclusive, and joyful. No one was left out of the experience. The night itself was bittersweet in hindsight, but the music and talent was undeniable. The memory stands on its own. Thank you, Austin City Limits, for a night I'll always remember.
