Definitely the place to go when you're hungry and it's 11pm. This is the only place open around town, and luckily, they have great food. The service is sometimes slow on Friday and Saturdays because they get the typical large groups of teenagers that show up and overwhelm the place. I recommend the spicy spinach and artichoke dip that comes in a sourdough bread bowl. It is fantastic! There aren't very many restaurants that have their spinach and artichoke dip spicy. Their muffins and pastries as also fantastic and I believe they are home made. My friends often order their milk shakes. They come in a nice fancy glass with the extras in the silver large cup that they mix it together in. First of all Corky's has great service, a large selection of food choices and it's open 24/7. The food was just ok in my opinion. My waffle was large, eggs were cooked properly and the bacon was perfectly crisp. It was a good meal but nothing to write home about. My friend ordered nachos and most of the ingredients I assume were bought at a super market and came out of a can or bag. The only exception was the salsa, which was their recipe and super good (definitely on the spicy side). The main reason for the 3 stars is their food is pricy for what you're getting. Some of the portions are very large but I felt overall the quality and quantity didn't match the price. I think Corky's is worth trying, and it's probably the only 24 hr place in Ladera. So if insomnia kicks in and you don't want to cook this is a good spot! read more

Two times in a row we have recently ordered food to go and both times the orders have had issues. This visit, after having to wait an additional 17 minutes while the other food gets cold, for them to correct one of the meals they made wrong, they didn't provide fresh fries and instead put the original fries back in the fryer to make them hard as rocks, burnt pieces of what tasted like wood chips. Really disappointing and we will go elsewhere for food from now on. Food usually tastes great when eating there, it seems they always have issues with orders to go. Its very interesting how a simple order of chicken strips and fries can be delayed. The staff at this place is very rude when asked about a late order and all the manager named George had to say is "Its late, what do you want me to do?" Pleasantly surprised with the quality of bakery goods are here~ I'm usually hesitant of buying diner foods, but Corkey's has pretty decent desserts for a good price. I've been here a couple of times way back when during my high school days, just remember that the pancakes were huge here! Bigger than my face. This time I just wanted some pastries to take to work. The guy who greeted me was friendly and offered the various bakery choices in the front. I know this place is known for pies, but I got the cheesecake and didn't regret it. The cheesecake was surprisingly not overly sweet, but very rich and decadent~ Graham cracker crust was crunchy and not soggy at all with a hint of nutiness. There was whipped cream and sour cream on top, liked how they only put a small amount so it didn't overpower the cheesecake. The blueberry pancakes took up my whole plate. Not as fluffy as I would like, but that might be a personal preference. Wasn't able to finish them. The eggs + bacon were good. Bacon was just crispy enough! Almost finished this. The breakfast burrito was all right. HUGE. I felt like such a weakling when I was able to devour only about half of it... and I like to eat. A lot. The bacon and sausage were shredded, or something, in the burrito. I might've preferred chucks. (Shredded gets stuck in your teeth, and well, that just leads for a weird afternoon.) Great variety and you can order anything at anytime. They're open 24 hours, so if you want pancakes at midnight, you get pancakes at midnight. (They're huge plate-sized behemoth pancakes.) The veggie burger is huge and very tasty. In a moment of weakness I chose steak fries as my side, but they were perfectly prepared, piping hot, and plentiful. No regrets. Mom went with the special and had a roast beef plate. It came with gorgeous fresh vegetables which appeared to have been cut in-restauant by hand. She said they were all good, but the sautéd red bell peppers were her faborite - sweet and satisfying. She also had mashed potatoes with gravy. My brother ordered the ribs. Expecting a half rack, he was delighted to receive a full rack of tender, meaty and savory ribs. He also had the mashed potatoes with gravy. My husband had the roasted turkey plate that was served with mashed potatoes with turkey gravy and thick slices of white meat turkey. He liked it a lot. The three meat plates came with a choice of bread and soup or salad. The green salads were quite large. My husband had the vegetable soup - he said it was very good, but a word of warning to vegetarians; it's made with beef broth. My brother ordered the brownie sundae which was enormous. Judy thoughtfully brought it with 4 spoons. The whipped cream on it was about 8 inches high (see photo); plenty for the whole table. They offer numerous baked goods including cookies, pies, cakes, etc as well as ice cream and shakes. The prices were on the high side for a diner, however the serving sizes are so generous one could definitely save money by eating here and sharing a meal (or take half home.) I regret doing it however I'm slapping Corky's with 3 stars instead of 4. I ended up here for dinner as a friend and I couldn't decide on what to have. We wanted something close and fairly inexpensive. Show up right around six and it's pretty empty. We're seated immediately and greeted by our server who is friendly and very efficient. We split a Chicken Fried Steak opting for a side salad with Thousand Island for the dressing. The portions seem smaller. The Chicken Fried Steak was a little soggy. Almost as if it was just sitting in the gravy waiting to be served. The mash potatoes were okay as I'm not a fan of the instant stuff. The salad was the usual. They serve Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Went here Saturday morning for breakfast. I had the Fried Bologna and Eggs. It was really good - but just a little too much Bologna. I havent had Bologna since I was a kid. I got it with the biscuits and gravy which were really good, plenty of gravy and ordered a side of bacon - well done. The decaf coffee was even good! My friend ordered the caramel stuffed French Toast and it was FANTASTIC! Very sweet and rich but WOW so good! She ordered a pancake for her son, which covered almost the entire plate, and a cheeseburger for her other son - they both also loved their food. Service was great, and we only waited about 10 minutes for a table out on the patio. I cant wait to go back and try lunch and dinner! The portions are very generous! read more

I can't believe I don't come here more often! This place is awesome for any time of the day. They have large portions and great prices. I love the large menu it makes deciding what to get so hard though! I usually get my go to French toast combo here. The French toast is amazing and I love their thick cut bacon. Even when the place is pretty busy you're never waiting super long to get your food once it's ordered. The service is super good, all the employees are very helpful and energetic. I brought my family here today for my birthday breakfast and it was their first time. Everyone was really happy and enjoyed their food! I have purchased pies for the Holidays for many years. They have always been a hit. This year, wow, they were horrible. The crust had a texture of frozen store bought. Not one person liked the pies. Pumpkin, apple, and boysenberry were all terrible. We just threw them out. I will never be buying pies from Corkys again. Corkys, did you start buying tins with fake crust ? Not sure what happened, but paying almost $50 for three pies and have them be terrible is not good. Not happy. read more

This is the first Corky's that I have been too. Upon entering at around 11pm, the service was pretty bad, servers were standing around while there are many tables that are open and my family and I were waiting to be seated. After waiting 5-10 minutes, we finally got seated and we started going through the menu to figure out what we were gonna order. After waiting about 5 minutes we get our waters and we tell the waitress that we need more time to go through the menu. It took us about 10 minutes to figure out what we wanted, it took us 15 minutes for the waitress to come back to get our order. Our food arrived very quickly which was nice. I ordered the Prime Rib sandwich which tasted good! Very generous portions! When we were done eating, we waited for a waitress to come by and check on us so we could ask for the check, about 5 minutes. It started getting annoying and we waited another 10-15 minutes. One of my family members had to go to a group of servers doing nothing to ask for our check. Ultimately, the service was terrible having to wait because people are not doing their job and just talking to each other. We should not have to leave our seat to ask for our check. The best part of this visit was that the food was generous in portions and good. read more

This is the place to come for giant portions of comfort food. Their 24/7 hours make fluffy pancakes, fresh pie, and massive egg dishes just a drive away. Mmm! I've been here several times over the years and have been consistently pleased with their food. Since I no longer live in the area, I don't get to come as frequently. On this most recent trip though, my siblings and I came for a late, late, late dinner around 10 pm and got seated right away. Our server was very friendly. This time I ordered just a cinnamon roll. I can hardly call it JUST a cinnamon roll though, because it was easily the size of my outstretched hand, a warm pile of dough with swirls of cinnamon and pecans and a gloopy cream cheese frosting. It tasted delicious, and I had to share it with the table, otherwise I probably would have gone into a sugar coma. The only downside was that some of the outer portion of the roll was quite hard and dry. I ended up bringing the leftovers home with me and reheating it in the microwave the next morning; I could no longer tell which parts had been dried out. Another "larger than life" serving will be yours if you order their pancakes. They're fluffy and good, and overall they taste like your standard diner offering. Also, they practically extend beyond the edge of your plate. You can get them with chocolate chips. If you're looking for a savory entree, I'd recommend either the breakfast skillets or the chorizo burrito. If you have an option for a muffin with your meal, get it! You won't regret the deliciousness of their blueberry muffins. All in all, in a comfy diner setting, you can come and eat breakfast 24/7 (and lunch and dinner options at certain times), and eat your heart out, while still having leftovers to take home! read more

The decor is old fashioned and the coffee cups are from locals that bring them in from all over. SERVICE (Rating 4) The service is always friendly, but it's busy at times, especially Sunday mornings when we like to go. The service can get a little slow at times, but they always keep a smile on their face. HOBO SKILLET (Rating 4.75) This thing is HUGE, made with 5 eggs and has all the makings of an food-fest breakfast that will require a lounge chair for the rest of the afternoon.
