I transplanted to Winter Park from the West Coast of the Country August 1st 2025. The experience at Corner Chophouse was the best dining experience by a mile that I have experienced since my arrival. The service was amazing and more akin to what I expect when I dine. The Appetizers: Bone marrow was excellent! Scallops with salmon row was balanced and subtle on the palate. Carpaccio with balsamic reduction cut through nicely. Well edited. I had the NY Strip & my partner had the Filet. Each cooked excellent! Great flavor pronounced and cooked to perfection! Creamed spinach balanced well with the steak! There was nothing underwhelming in this experience. I have been to many world class restaurants in this country and others and am often surrounded by great ambience and lackluster cuisine. Corner Chophouse is the opposite! The level of professionalism in the service cannot be overstated enough.. it met my expectations which is not without its difficulty to execute. I have not found its match yet in town. Our first time at Corner Chophouse and it was fantastic! The beef carpaccio appetizer is literally one of the best meals I've eaten in my entire life! I would eat it every day. Anna our server was extremely attentive and very personable. Daniel (I believe is one of the managers) also came by multiple times to check on us and was great! We ordered steaks and appetizers, the steaks were cooked perfectly and were frankly better than the steaks we've had recently at Ruth Chris and Fleming's. The steak prices were in line with other steak houses but the appetizers and à la carte sides were cheaper. Drinks were excellent also and a great wine selection. Have had the pleasure of dining at The Corner Chop House several times. Each time our dining experience has been absolutely wonderful. Great place to go for special occasions and down-to-earth atmosphere. My latest experience was last night, celebrating my birthday which just happened to be on Mother's Day. They had their normal menu along with a special Mother's Day menu. Our server "Shy" was absolutely superlative in all ways. Our food is always just right. The staff and service was excellent BUT now the review will go down hill: everything is "a la cart" and the food is less then mediocre. My 68$ fillet mignon (+ 12$ side mashed potato)was cooked medium well than i request is medium rare. They brag being the large restaurant group from Charleston but the food is below average and the bill was for two of us 300$ with tips. Ridiculous So, do not waste your money . As a local, I was eager to try this new place (of course, I miss Dexter's). It started rough from the beginning. I asked the server for some thoughts on the menu and he proceeded to educate us on the meaning of "appetizer", "salad" and "main" and didn't go into the nuances or interesting things about the menu. We ordered a bottle of wine and a couple cocktails. He came back with wine and asked if we were ready to order. I said that we'd like to wait until we have our drinks and visit a bit. Once the cocktails were delivered, he asked again if we were ready (like he was eager to flip the table). The ladies ordered a couple apps and he asked for the rest of the order as he likes to put it all in at once. For a place of this caliber (and prices) I found that weird. The apps were good so nice job there. We had ordered a wedge salad and said my friend and I would split that. When it was delivered, it was not split and they didn't bring another plate. I asked if could be split. They took it back and just cut it in half in the same bowl. Most places would have split this for us and delivered that way. No one asked if we wanted pepper and I couldn't find someone to ask until my salad was finished. My pasta entree was OK but the ladies, who both ordered snapper thought is was dry. My friend when ordering asked if the lobster pasta had plenty of lobster and the server said it was "lobster forward". Alas, it was not. Very skimpy on the lobster. We were not given a bread option and didn't know it was available until seeing another table with it. Bottom line- for over $700 for a 4 person meal, it was not "service or food forward ". The Heritage Pork Chop was incredible, the second best piece of meat I have ever had, only topped by a steak I tried at Emeril Lagasse's restaurant years ago. The Summer Corn Cappelletti with blue crab was bright and creative, and the Shrimp Cocktail was perfectly fresh. This was my first visit to Corner Chop House, and unfortunately, it will likely be my last. I started the night with a dirty martini with blue cheese olives, and right away I could tell the olives were pre-made. They were soggy and definitely not freshly stuffed in-house, which is the opposite of what I expect at a chop house. We moved on to the appetizers, and to be fair, the beef carpaccio was excellent, as were the waffle fries. The bone marrow was also very good, but the bread served with it was disappointing and could've used a better sear. What really surprised me, though, was that no one asked how the bone marrow was, offered to bring anything else with it, or even pre-bussed the table. I actually had to ask for dishes to be removed--something I consider a major service miss anywhere, let alone at a place charging premium steakhouse prices. Then came the main reason I visited: the steak. I ordered a New York strip cooked medium-plus, but no one confirmed how it was prepared when it arrived. Honestly, I don't even know if I was served a strip or a filet because it was so shriveled, overcooked, and incredibly salty--the saltiest steak I've ever had. Outback Steakhouse would have been better, and that is not an exaggeration. There is absolutely no comparison to Christner's, and even Linda's La Cantina would've delivered a far superior steak at a fraction of the price. The creamed spinach was also extremely salty--so salty I couldn't even eat it. I didn't complain or send anything back because, frankly, it was tough just getting a second drink. I had to flag down the waitress multiple times, and overall the service was inattentive from start to finish. I left disappointed and still craving a proper steak. There are much better steakhouses in Orlando, and after this experience, I won't be returning. If you want a great steak, skip this place and go to Linda's La Cantina--you'll spend less and actually enjoy your meal. read more

The mashed potatoes had no garlic flavor and seemed like they came out of a box. Pains me to write this since it's such a nice spot in a nice area but I just cannot get over the incompetency of this restaurant. Not only is the service less than average and it takes awhile to get your first drink after sitting down at a table despite the bar being close by, but they run out of everything constantly. One night I went they ran out mashed potatoes, another night it's the bread service, the ice cream sundae, etc. I've never been to a restaurant that runs out of bread and ice cream. Inconsistency is another thing. Our first night the Mac and cheese was disappointing, the second time it was amazing. The third time it was literally just boiled pasta with pasta water and the tiniest hint/drop of cheese. The last time I went for a birthday and they didn't even have candles or do anything with the dessert, they just said they ran out of candles and we were out of luck. I thought it was weird we even had to ask for a lit candle in our dessert considering they left a birthday card on the table. The server looked clueless. This place has so much potential but unfortunately comes out extremely short every visit... I hope they get it together. read more

Our meal here was absolutely impeccable. I don't have any notes. We started with the scallops- perfectly plump and seared, swimming in a delicious citrusy sauce. We got generously gifted the straciatella salad and cocktail shrimp- both were wonderful, especially the champagne marinated tomatoes in the straciatella salad. The true stars of the show though were the 8 ounce filet and the dry aged bone in ribeye. Each steak was cooked to perfection, we barely needed a knife. The asparagus is a no-miss accompaniment, same with the mac and cheese. We finished our meal with the gingerbread crème brûlée (a special for the month) and an espresso martini, both of which were divine. Icaro took SUCH good care of us, I will be sure to request him next time we dine. He coursed out our meal perfectly and he was so attentive. Got them eventually but we were done by then. Only one choice for oysters on half shell, they described them at petite- need to provider for them. Loved being with my friends but the kitchen was in the weeds all night. More than three hours for service on a six top was too long. I would describe the service as manic and disjointed. Dessert service is confusing- they bring a cart then a separate dessert menu. Hope they get it together. Winter Park won't give them a ton of room to not be on top of it. read more

My new go to restaurant in Winter Park. Corner Chophouse has a traditional gentleman's club ambiance with dark wood paneling that sets the mood for a perfect meal. Our server was friendly, attentive, and experienced. She was personable and charming, and we never had to wait long for anything. We started with old fashioneds, the most delicious bread, then beef carpaccio, & oysters on the half shell. It was all fantastic. My partner and I split a 14 ounce prime New York strip which was made to perfection in my opinion (Pittsburgh rare). One of our friends got the rack of lamb which he said was incredible, and the other friend was very satisfied with his snapper. Additional sides we had were Florida mushrooms and waffle frites. All of the portions were generous. We finished by sharing 4 desserts including Kiwi key lime pie, Biscoff cheesecake, orange cream cake, and crème brûlée. We enjoyed them all.
