It was sad to see so many little restaurants and places closed in the Biltmore village but glad to find this little gem - just a stroll down the street from the hotel . I'm a fan ! I only had a couple of appys but looking around at other food coming out it all looked pretty fab Delish , so well presented and just what I was looking for Thank goodness for this little foodie spot being open is all I can say!

Corner Kitchen has been a special dining location for my family for years. The staff is always incredibly personable, friendly and helpful. The quality of the food is outstanding. The dishes are delicious. There is a focus on working with local vendors. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. There are 2 levels of dining space and a cute outdoor area. Make sure to visit the restroom where some snarky signs are sure to make you smile! When Hurricane Helene hit, Biltmore Village (where Corner Kitchen resides) was heavily business. Sadly, there are several businesses who haven't reopened and many who never will. Being an lifelong Asheville resident, seeing the damage brought by the storm and flooding has been heartbreaking. I was so excited to see Corner Kitchen opened back I highly recommend dining at Corner Kitchen. The menu has a great mix of sweet and savory. The brunch items are our favorites! Make sure to get a biscuit and jam no matter what you order!

Food and service were both good , great little place surrounded by tiny boutique shops . We booked in advance just incase it was busy, but there was plenty of sitting inside , outside and upstairs. Would surly recommend trying it , loved the Boozy French toast.

The staff were ALL so helpful when I stopped in w/o a reservation. I had a nice table on the patio, an excellent chenin blanc and a delicious bourbon bread pudding. Although I cannot review the other dishes, what I saw & heard from diners was all positive. Considering that the Village area is still in recovery, this is quite a GEM there. My dessert was huge & perfect, I rarely find such an excellent chenin blanc and all in all it was the perfect top-off to a spring evening

Corner Kitchen is in Biltmore Village that was devastated by Helene, but you wouldn't know it. This elite restaurant is in an original house from the Vanderbilt purchase. They deliver like a well oiled machine. Staff was super friendly, knowledgeable of it's history and just fun to be around. It's a limited menu and changes frequently so look online at their website to see what's new. We had the shrimp and grits with a red eye gravy and the pork shank osso bucco. It was served over a creamy polenta and the pork was pull apart tender. We normally don't eat at fancy places but this experience was well worth it. Everything was fantastic. Do make a reservation to ensure you can get in. They were completely full and held to reservation time. Next time in Asheville area we'll definitely be back!

We went to Corner Kitchen with friends after they recommended it. Staff was great, everyone greeted us kindly, food was awesome and (while it isn't shown) my husbands homemade corn beef hash was probably the best we've had. It's quaint and cute, and definitely worth a visit.

I was so delighted to learn one of my favorite spots in Asheville had re-opened and it did not disappoint. Love the redesign of the host stand and bar addition. So clean, roomy and aesthetically pleasing. My daughter and I had the turkey croissant with shaved pear and the lavender marinated chicken salad. Truly amazing and so tasty. Oh and did I mention the fries - over the top. So glad to have them back open! Last but not least my favorite (craved it for a year) the PEA salad is so flavorful and refreshing!

I really went back-and-forth between a three and a four but ultimately landed on a four star rating for the corner kitchen. Overall, the place is great... Really cool vibe and layout, super friendly staff, and well composed dishes. Our server was fantastic and did a great job taking care of us all night. We tried several appetizers and all of them were tasty, especially the fried oysters, which I highly recommend. The star of the meal for me was the crab and corn chowder. It was excellent! The reason I got hung up on the rating was due to a couple of things. One person in our group ordered the chicken and it came out tepid. It was cooked thoroughly and very flavorful, but I guess it just got cold waiting for the rest of the dishes to be ready. The other thing was the trout. We were told this was their signature dish and several people in our party ordered it I will say the composition was well thought out, and the green beans cooked perfectly for me, but the trout was simply overcooked. It is such a delicate fish so when you crust it and you cook it or leave it under a warming lamp too long, the fish can get dry, and mine was clearly overcooked. I was also not a huge fan of the crusting on the fish. It did not add a textural element as intended, and really just got muddy with the mushy texture of the overcooked fish. The sweet potatoes were also not my favorite. I am not sure of the flavor, but there was something floral in the sweet potato mash. That was just a bit offputting for me a couple of my companions shared similar thoughts on the fish. For this to have been their signature dish, I had higher expectations, which is why I was leaning heavily towards a three. However, everything else was really great and obviously they have a consistent track record of great food given their other ratings here on yelp. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place, but I would likely not order the trout again if I have a chance to come back.

What a cute place! They are open again after the horrible flood. Service is superb, food is delicious and ambiance is so Asheville! Don't miss this one and support the neighborhood that was totally destroyed!

My partner and I were celebrating our anniversary! This place has excellent hospitality and that's all thanks to our server Rose! Wow! What phenomenal service she provided us. The crab cake was the best I've ever had!!!! The trout with the sweet potato and gravy just melted in your mouth. The charcuterie plate was a wild card, I don't like pimento cheese but gave it a try anyways and it wasn't bad!!! They gave us crème brûlée on the house. 10/10 would recommend

From start to finish, the customer service was excellent, and the music was great. Old classic music loud enough to enjoy but low enough to still hear yourself think and talk with the ones you are eating with. Zack was an excellent server and checked on us often enough. I ordered a cranberry mimosa, which was bigger than I expected for the price, and was happy about it. Then we shared a pastry of the day which was peach with a lemon glaze on top. The layers were good on the pastry and reminded us of peach cobbler with the filling. Ordered Biltmore Basic. The grits were a little too cheesy for me and bacon had a lot of fat on it. Both were still edible though. Liked the eggs and biscuit with mixed berry jam. My fiancé ordered the mango Bellini. They had to substitute the mango puree for triple sec because there was no more puree but overall still tasted good. He ordered the chicken and waffles. Chicken could use a tiny bit more seasoning but paired with the gravy it was really good so makes sense why the chicken wasn't super flavorful - had to balance everything out. Waffle was nice and soft, and the syrup was good with everything, too. We look forward to coming back again. Great restaurant! Thank y'all so much

Although only street parking and in an odd location in a converted older home, it was charming. Service was on point. The food was outstanding! My husband said the gravy for the biscuits and gravy was the best he's ever had. (Note: Steps up to the front entrance. The bathrooms are up steep stairs.)

Great menu! U cannot go wrong!

What excellent food, service and ambiance. Had to wait a while but well worth it. We even sat at the bar and Greg shared stories, talked about the flood and the major remodel. Wife had the turkey club and i the Biltmore Special! All were fresh, hot and so very tasty! The grits were out of this world. Great place that has now reopened after the flood. U will not regret the visit for brunch or dinner here. I guarantee it!

Worth Planning Your Asheville Trip Around…read more As a Bay Area foodie, navigating around San Francisco's incredible restaurant scene taught me to appreciate thoughtful cooking, quality ingredients, and genuine hospitality. Chestnut had been on my Asheville dining list long before I arrived, and after spending several days exploring Boone, Blowing Rock, and the Blue Ridge Mountains, I made it my dinner splurge before heading home. It absolutely delivered. A quick tip: skip the hunt for street parking and head straight to the garage across the street. The first hour is free, and downtown Asheville can be congested with both vehicle and foot traffic. I arrived around 5:30 without a reservation and was warmly greeted by the hostess, who offered me a table or a seat at the bar. Asheville was surprisingly hot and humid compared to the cool mountain weather I'd been enjoying, so the air-conditioned dining room was an easy choice over the sidewalk patio. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Fresh flowers, warm lighting, elegant stone countertops, comfortable booths, tables, and bar seating create an atmosphere that feels polished without being stuffy. What stood out most was the mix of guests. There were locals greeting staff by name, couples enjoying date night, families with children, and older guests gathering with friends. It felt welcoming and comfortable for everyone. As a solo diner, the bar was the perfect choice. I enjoyed all the energy of the restaurant while still having a peaceful dining experience. I started with a glass of Brut Rosé from Spain. Crisp, refreshing, and beautifully balanced, it was the perfect way to settle in after a warm afternoon. Then came the Lobster Bisque. As someone who has made lobster bisque from scratch, I know the work that goes into creating a great one. Chestnut's version, made with Oak & Grist Reserve Cream and finished with fresh chives, was outstanding. Rich, silky, velvety, and loaded with tender pieces of lobster. If I'm being incredibly picky, I would have enjoyed just a touch more sherry, but that's purely personal preference. The smaller serving vessel kept the bisque hot from first spoonful to last, which I appreciated. My only complaint was that I wanted a larger serving because it was that good. For my entrée, I ordered the 4-ounce Petite Filet. The steak arrived cooked a perfect medium rare with excellent flavor and texture. It was served with butter-whipped mashed potatoes, haricot verts, a crisp potato gaufrette, red wine demi-glace, and chive butter. Every component was thoughtfully prepared. The demi-glace added richness without overwhelming the beef, while the potato gaufrette provided a delicate crunch. My only minor critique was that the plate could have been served a bit hotter, but the quality of the food more than made up for it. One of the highlights of the evening was the service. Taylor, part of the management team, was personable, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. After my sparkling wine, he suggested a half-glass pour of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir since I was driving. Excellent recommendation. The wine was elegant, earthy, and beautifully balanced, pairing perfectly with the filet. As the evening progressed, the restaurant filled quickly. Watching the staff greet regulars by name and efficiently manage the growing crowd spoke volumes about how well-run the restaurant is. You could tell many guests were repeat customers, which is always a good sign. After dinner, I attempted to walk off my meal through downtown Asheville, but the summer heat quickly convinced me to head back to my hotel. I left full, happy, and already thinking about that lobster bisque. For a Bay Area foodie who plans entire trips around memorable meals, Chestnut exceeded expectations. Great food, thoughtful service, an inviting atmosphere, and a dining experience that felt special without trying too hard. If you're visiting Asheville, put Chestnut on your list. Life is too short for mediocre meals, and this one is worth making time for.

Before coming, I read that the Gingerbread House competition had just ended and that the displays were still up. When we arrived, I didn't realize parking was now paid $30 which was surprising since the first time we visited it was free. Walking up to the hotel is impressive on its own. Seeing how this massive structure was built out of stone so long ago is amazing. Inside, there was a video playing that explained how the hotel was constructed, which was very informative. The roof being made of solid concrete to help make the building waterproof was especially interesting. When you walk through the front doors, the entry is grand and open, with huge fireplaces on both sides. The gingerbread house displays were spread across two floors and were absolutely incredible.
