I like this place since it's close and convenient. However, $8.75 to use the washer is a bit rough. I often come with both my color and white loads the small washer is too small and the large is too big so I have to use the larger units for my medium sized loads. $20 to wash and dry is out of my budget unfortunately so I can't afford to return. read more

WATCH OUT FOR HIDDEN "START UP FEES" on the dryers for credit/debit card transactions!! They're not being honest about it until you ask the attendant working there and what they'll tell you is that, "It's a start up fee"? Strange because there's not a start up fee when you use quarters. This is just flat out frustrating because there's not a disclaimer listed anywhere in the laundromat about transaction fees or "start up fees" for credit/debit card users. Rrcently I had to use a laundromat because my washer needed repair. I chose Corner Wash due to its closeness to my home. WOW! since I was last there, there have been major upgrades to all the machines. Sabrina was super helpful showing me around so I could get started. The entire time I was there, I continued to be impressed with her hard work in keeping up the sparkly cleanliness of the entire facility, all the while helping customers with a cheerful attitude and smile. Almost makes me wish I didn't have my own machines... but it's great to know they are there when I need them. This place use to be better before the renovation and the new hires. Including the owner. I've been living in Adams for the past 10+ years and always came to this laundry. The customer service here is terrible. In one occasion I got my coin stuck at the coin depositor and I asked for help, the employee that was working there got distracted with dust on the fan and never came to help. Another occasion was when this short lady asked if I was almost done with my washer because she was obviously pre-closing 1hr and a half before they close. She seemed bother that my washer still had 18 mins left. Finally there's the owner with blonde hair, she started to complain about having to sweep up tissue pieces as she collected her money(quarters) and the audacity to do it in front of customers. We have been going to this laundromat for a year. A new owner took over recently and refuses to run the air conditioner. Nothing is cheap about this place. Almost $10 per load. The location is great. Across the street from a brewery. There is parking. The dry cleaning portion is not over priced and does a good job. They even repair shoes. The place is clean and well kept. The washer and dryers are new. But the AC ! Drying gives off heat! The A/C has to be on all the time because it gets hot in Normal Heights in a closed building. read more

I had a couple loads that I decided to get the 'fluff-n-fold' service at The Corner Wash. I had taken other loads in previously and the attendants had done an excellent job so I decided to have then also do these last couple of loads. The handicapped spot in the parking lot was taken so I had to park at the curb in front. When I tried to open the front doors they had them locked and I could see sand bags probably because heave rain was expected. I enter by the parking lot door and asked the attendant on duty for assistance in bringing in my loads from my SUV parked in front. All she did was point to the laundry baskets and say I could use one of them. When I first entered at the counter I could see here sitting at the desk in back and it seemed, to me, that getting up to see what I wanted was work for her. Then when she refused any assistance I waited until the handicapped spot cleared and I went in and did my own laundry. I posted Yelp from Pixel that day about my experience but obviously failed to complete my posting since it is not shown on the Yelp site. I just wanted to assure that my views were expressed so management may or may not be concerned with the attitude and poor customer service that this one woman exhibited. read more

I come here every time I have major loads to wash. It's clean, they've got sweet magazines, wifi, snack and soda machines, and for the most part, reliable machines. There are also two seating areas, one of which is great for people watching on Adams Ave. In addition, you can drop of your clothes here and the employees will wash it for you for a reasonable fee. Aside from mechanics working on machines (I've only seen them once), I've only ever seen three different people working here, all of which have been really nice. Two older white ladies and a young, super cute Latina. Only downsides are the dog that sometimes roams around (don't want hair on my freshly washed clothes), there are never paper towels or soap by the sink, parking can get tight, and some of the driers don't dry, but that's expected at any laundromat. It may not be top of the line, but it gets the job done just fine. Plus the awesome location allows you to duck out while your clothes is washing to cut your hair, grab a bite to eat, get a coffee, or slam a beer... All possible within walking distance. read more

UPDATE. This has become my regular place. They replaced most of their machines and were pretty smart about putting some lotto machines in. Some days it's still hit or miss with the crowds. They still have some of the old machines that need a serious washing but it's a lot nicer now. Just sucks when you come and all the dryers are being used. The pros, the location is nice for me and I can run to Safeway while my clothes are washing or another store near by, they actually have parking which I'm finding rare with the local laundromat and when I went today it was a Monday afternoon and the vibe in there was chill. Wasn't too crowded. I'm sure the weekends I wouldn't even attempt. Not enough spots to fold clothes. The cons. The cost is higher then others with newer machines. I was shocked it was $2.00 for a regular size washing machine. It's 1.25 for most I go to and one even offers credit card options. The dryers some looked to have been on fire at one point or something. They were not very clean. Just really old equipment and they don't take cards so I would expect the prices to be down. I did speak to the girl working in the dry cleaner spot to ask about pricing of dry cleanings and she was pleasant. At the end of the day I will probably come back here if it's not crowded due to it being nicely air conditioned and parking available and location. read more

When it comes to prices, parking and cleanliness, this place is great. I also get my water refills there. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because I just tried to wash my clothes at 7 pm on a Sunday night, reading online beforehand that it closed at 10 (last load at 8) Buuuut as I got there they had wrote over their usual sign that the last load was at 6. I told the manager that google and on their door it days they closed at 10. She told me that that's not true and she will let the owner know to change it. This is not the first time that this place is not running on it's established hours. Last year we had the same issue when they were installing their new machines. My husband and I know that there is a chance this place will not be open when we go do our laundry... and today was one of those days. Definitely avoid. We tried this place for the first time, and it will be our last. We dropped off our dry cleaning for a wedding and we were told it would be ready by Wednesday. Went to pick up our dry cleaning and they said that it would not be ready until 6 p.m. About an hour later, they said that part of our dry cleaning was in, but my husband's shirt did not come in. The driver supposedly had to head back to La Jolla and check to see if it was there. An hour after that, they called to say it was LOST. Well that sucks, especially since we were flying out the next day. Also, my husband's jacket came back with missing buttons that were definitely on there when we dropped it off. It's little bit late post, but you all have to know how they do dry cleaning there. Two months ago I brought one of my favorite dress to this place for DRY CLEANING. It was two small spots of soy sauce on it, after enjoying sushi at the restaurant. Few days later I came to pick it up, and couldn't believe - color of the dress changed from the bright red to light orange, spots were still on it and most important THE HEM AT A DRESS HAS BEEN TORN, looks like the did it at laundry at hot temperature. So I left my expensive 400$ dress there and ask the owner to call me. I got a call next day, and the think he said me - we are not responsible for you dress that you wear out!!! What a great customer service and place! I'll newer go there again! Moreover next day I brought this dress to MAGIC TOUCH CLEANERS (4196 Adams Ave) and they took professional care of my dress, remove spots from sushi and sew up my dress. I've used The Corner Wash for about 10 years to launder my larger, heavier things--blankets, quilts, rugs. I go there about four times per year when I deep clean my place. T.C.W is clean. The staff has always been available and helpful when I've had a question or needed support. I'm glad there's a place that I feel comfortable going to, to do my big laundry chores. So I've been using Corner Wash's fluff and fold services since I came back to the neighborhood about a year ago. I've been pretty pleased with those services - except with one minor exception where the older woman who works on Sundays had to hunt around for my lingerie bags. When I asked why they weren't with my laundry, she said she used them for another customer's clothing (really?!). So the next time I dropped off my laundry, I told the young female attendant and asked her to make sure to not use any of my things for another customer's laundry. Fast forward to this summer: I've been doing my own laundry since I have the time and have been coming in weekly all summer. Today, it was pretty busy but I was able to find washing machines. I started them, sat down and then 20 minutes later went to get put them in the dryer. The machines hadn't washed anything. I thought I had just failed to start them (which is annoying) but when I hit the start buttons a strange sign appears and the machines don't start. Frustrated, I tell the attendant and say, "Can I get my money back?" (Which to me, seems a reasonable request.) She huffs out to look at the machines, hits the start button 3 or 4 times on one and gets it to start. Yay! The other one, she fiddles with, opens the door, closes it and then gets it to start. Double-yay! And then she huffs away without saying a word to me. Now I've been coming here for over a year and have spoken pleasantly with this woman a number of times as I've picked up my fluff and fold. So I follow her and say, "Hey- that was kind of rude?" And then she starts berating me (LOUDLY) for asking for my money to be returned. I carefully explain that seems reasonable to me and that I did not, nor was not attacking her personally (she claimed I did) and that, as someone in customer service, she could certainly understand my frustration. Then she sarcastically asked me what I wanted saying "do you want me to kiss you?" Seriously- if my clothes were not already getting wet, I would have completely left.
